Well Ringer rebounded after last week, though the episode itself was nothing to write home about.
ReplyDeleteGlad for Ringer! 0.4 was terrible last week.
ReplyDeleteWhat is Ringer's ratings from 18-49?
ReplyDeleteThose figures won't be available for another hr. When they are released we will post them in the table.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand all this but it's good for Cougar Town and The River right? =S
ReplyDeleteNope, about the same as last week, which was pretty poor for them both.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean? We at least got some answers for something. Now if we could only keep Misha on tv longer lol
ReplyDeleteNo, sadly, those are terrible numbers.
ReplyDeleteThese initial "household" ratings represent the total number of households who watched the show (regardless of age, sex, race, etc). The 3.2 means 3.2% of households with television stuck around for the episode and the 5 means 5% of people checked the show out. Or something like that.
Wikipedia tells me that 1% is about 1.2 million people. So a 3.2 is about 3.7 million people. The question is how much of those numbers are represented by the 18-49 demo. If 100% were people in that demographic, then the show will get a 3.0, which is fantastic. Not that that will happen. We just have to hope its a very high concentration of younger viewers. Those numbers will be up soon.
Awww thanks for the explanation, I'm so sad especially for Cougar Town =(
ReplyDeleteI'm really disappointed =(
ReplyDeleteAgreed :(. While I can't always blame networks for these kinds of ratings, ABC definitely mucked about a lot with Cougar Town this season and then failed to promote it very heavily.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? Ringer got a 0.5 ? oh gawd... :[
ReplyDeleteAt least Ringer rebounded a bit - I wonder if it was partially due to some of the SPN fans watching for Misha? I thought that might happen.. either way, I'm glad!
ReplyDeletewell thats an improvement!!!... and it got like .30 more viewers than last week... Altough i think its kinda obvious is gonna get canceled :(
ReplyDeleteHaha I know.. at least Siobhan didn't kill him or something. Let's face it, judging by Supernatural alone the poor guy doesn't have the best track record for staying alive. Though he doesn't seem to be able to stay dead either, does he? I'm okay with that :) I'm ALWAYS up for more Misha on my TV.
ReplyDeletejust bet Bill Lawrence 20 bucks that Cougar Town will be cancelled :P

Ha lol Awesome
ReplyDeleteI love Bill what a sport!
ReplyDeleteIf I could I would buy all the awesome struggling shows I adore (Community, Cougar Town, Fringe) and fund for new episodes until the end of days. Alas this is but a dream but one that has more chance of coming true than my other dream which is that the networks would scrap the nielsen ratings system.
ReplyDeleteIt was 0.3 last week, even worse.
ReplyDeleteUnforgettable dropped 20% in the demo this week.
ReplyDeleteHem, no! You're wrong. Ringer had 0.4 in the final ;)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprise to see Ringer returning at last week number without Misha....I saw a lot of comments on a forum last night about SPN fans who didn't watch Ringer but wanting to do it last night because of Misha
ReplyDeleteAnd replace it with what? Gut feelings? Twitter buzz ratings?
ReplyDeleteIs there something better in place that could replace Nielsen? I watch very few of the top Nielsen rated shows, so it wouldn't bother me to ditch them. But, what would be an improvement?
Yep, that's the problem.
ReplyDeleteNo one has found a better system that will appease both the Networks and more importantly the advertisers.
I figured he'd be a draw this week - it'll be interesting to see how the numbers look next week, and though we'll never really be able to definitively say that this week was attributed to Misha, I don't doubt that he was a huge part of it!
ReplyDeleteI'll get to work on the Baff Rating System®©™. I'll rate everything from 1-10. Anything below 5 gets canceled. Shows getting close to 5 will know that they need to add more spaceships, wizards, or possibly both.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, there will be far fewer redundant cop shows and inane sitcoms. On the down side for Lou, all his favorite struggling shows will still get axed. Sorry Lou.
Damn you Baff *shakes fist at sky*
ReplyDeleteI just wish they wouldn't post overnights and instead waited and included DVR+ numbers as well but I know it won't ever happen because yeah the advertisers rule.
ReplyDeleteIt would certainly be nice to have the main numbers on the web be the C+3 numbers, since those are the ones advertisers care about the most.
ReplyDeleteFor those who don't know, C+3 are the number of viewers who watch the commercials live or on DVR in the first 3 days. We (the public) generally just get to see the Live+Same Night and Live+7. That gives us a rough idea of the all important C+3 numbers, but still leaves a lot of guess work.
Give Ringer a chance CW please! Move it to a new slot or something. Everytiem you put a show in that time slot it crashes and look what you are doing to a decent show!
ReplyDeleteGlee good numbers!
ReplyDeletecan someone please explain me how to read this, i mean for example NCIS got almost 20 million viewers, and i get that number, buti dont get what does the 18/49 rating means.. does it mean that 3.8% of the total viweres who watched NCIS are between the 18/49 demo? or what?
ReplyDeleteFrom Wikipedia
ReplyDelete" For example a ratings point among the key 18-49 year olds demographic is equivalent to 1% of all 18-49 year olds in the country. "
So in your example 3.8% of the whole USA in the 18-49 year range watched.
