This was a very interesting episode a big improvement from the last one. - I thought that the kiss between Faye and Lee was cute. Does this mean that they are dating? - I wonder about John Blackwell he seems like he cares about Cassie - Jake is always looking out for Cassie. He still loves her I wish Cassie would be more open to him. I mean he always keeps her out of harms way. Adam hasn't been there for Cassie like that and they are not good together at all.
I liked the voodoo underground party scenes. I wish the show would explore that aspect more, and the witch-voodoo differences and stuff, the way these kids abuse the magic, or try to help and similar things. Cassie drama was the boring part of the episode, as it always is. And Blackwell was so bland, nothing at all similar to all of the stories about him. I mean, I didn't expect him to go full-on villain right away, but at least having an on-screen presence should've been a requirement.
It was okay. - It was nice to see the circle perform something as a group for a change. - Can we please erase Callum and Lee from this show? - I was hoping to see Cassie kick some witch hunter ass but it didn't happen. - Joe Lando did a better job as Blackwell than I thought he would. It was a pleasant surprise. I still say he looks like Hank Scorpio though. - Blackwell may care about Cassie but he has his own agenda. (doesn't everyone?) - This show really loves cleavage. A lot. - Once again, Jake was extremely helpful while Adam second guesses Cassie's decisions and his only helpful act was to call the circle together. - Dear old dad needs to teach Cassie how to effectively use her magic while he's in town. It's dumb how vulnerable she is when these threats occur considering the level of power she possesses.
Finally got around to watch it, and frankly I was hoping for a lot more with the return of the "supposed big bad" that is Cassie's dark wizard of a father. And even though it was "ok" for an ep, I kinda felt a bit disappointed that for me the characters don't seem to have developed much beyond the early episodes, and I keep wanting to see the plots with the adults be somewhat interesting, and so far there's not much to tell there, besides Cassie's grandmother being gone for a long time apparently.... as much as I like some of the actors, I think that this one's off my watch list..
Okay, I want to know what the hell is up with Adam's dad. I think he definitely setup the circle for failure all while keeping Cassie's mom away to hook up with her but it backfired and she left for good. The grown ups suck. The kids are stupid. I wanted this show to work but it just doesn't have the appeal the books did to me. It isn't at all like TVD where I don't mind as much how much they've deviated from the books because it's well written and usually keeps an amazing pace and gives "history lessons" instead of keeping us in the dark (although the Originals only being a 1,000 years old when the legend of vampires is sooo much older than that does perturb me a bit). But
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I liked this episode. I really did.
