    The finance major in my much approved of this episode! Always love Reese's kick-butt fighting style, as well as Finch getting some time in fighting back with money. Great way to end a Wall Street episode.
    And the very very end? Woah!! Just how wide is Elias's sphere of influence?

    Best Episode Yet? I won't know for sure until the POI podcast airs. Loved this episode. I feel the mytharc kicking into high gear.

    I was thinking that the cotw was just going to be an ok one, but the tie ins with the overlying mytharc, the reappearance of Elias and the tidbit about Reese's caretaker when he was  on the streets upped the ep to awesome for me. Still would've liked to see Fusco, but enjoyed the ep all the same.

    For me the majority of the episode was in the "good" range, but the ending was definitely awesome. However, good for the majority of the time and awesome for a tiny bit of the time at the ending only averages out to "great" for me.

    Wide. Without guys like Elias, the politicians wouldn't have money for their campaigns. That's how it goes in my country and I don't think that in the US it's any different.

    How come I wasn't impressed with the promos before POI debuted, but now it's the only show I can think of that yet has to deliver a bad episode :D ... good work POI guys! :D

    absolutely loved Matt's character story .. it was soooooo beautiful.. has to be my favorite POI this season.. I also loved how we got some story about Reese.. & Elias, my God, I think that guy have more influence than the president..

    & how precious is that "who's looking after you now?" "Someone new" moment <333333

    What's with the bird names Harold? Finch, Wren, now  Crane xD

    I liked this ep a lot.  Loved finding out a little more about Reese and skid row.  The POI was a more interesting and engaging character than I expected him to be during the first bit of the episode.  And that last scene.  Weeee!!!!

    Definitely awesome episode, for me the best POI case of the season behind just the episode 7 "witness". Epic, Elias return, so cool have this villain. Scarface is another trouble for Reese too.

    Not my favourite episode. Something about Wall Street wasn't as compelling as previous stories, but that's because I'm not too interested in the economy topic.

    I knew from the press release that Elias would return, but man, I did not see that coming. A great way to bring back the mythical villain of the show (along with Mark Snow).

    Wow! "Risk" was really involving! Again another amazing episode, --it seems so reflective, so close to maybe what happened with Finch and Nathan, or what's going to happen with Finch and Nathan's son(?), and then the ending with Elias was truly spectacular!!!!!!!! I feel a bigger story arch coming! It's to bad next weeks episode is a repeat, It's starting to get really intense!

    Exactly. Elias is the new "mob" of NYC. He pays and threatens those for what he wants like any other "lobbyist". It's like watching a modern day Boardwalk Empire and Batman at the same time! Love it!

    It really was another good "inner" story that seemingly reflects the "outer" story! Everything about it was good, even the homeless people angle was a nice touch!

    Love the show...and at this point, Finch & Reese could read a phone book and I'd watch it!
    But while I enjoyed Risk, I can understand why some folks might have reservations about the story: if one is not somewhat familiar with how the stock market operates with it's shorts, puts, and whales, then it might have been a bit confusing.
    It was unfortunately real: the whales really can influence what happens to a stock price. In the long run, it's playing the Market is legalized gambling - albeit sophisticated... :)

    Yeah, that's actually one noise they used to make the sounds of the smoke monster was a taxi meter receipt machine! XD I caught it when it happened and then forgot about it! 

    I kind of attribute it to foreshadowing our villain of the piece --Elias! (If I remember right I think J. Nolan said something in an interview recently -like none of the characters are safe!)

    It's another thing I really like is that they use things that are very real and relative to the audience (especially us Americans)...So many times I thought, didn't I just read or hear something similar to the plot of this episode on NPR (News Public Radio)?!  It's politically very well thought out!

    wow. how awesome was that? since this was a wall street episodes, i was waiting for some goofs and slip ups and to the best of my knowledge, they handled the subject really good... I liked how most of the characters they showed as brokers were shady and layered, including Saunders.


    The twist in the end, however, takes the cake. Jonathan Nolan is really the master of complex plots... There are so many elements at play here, I am wondering if I have to rewatch all the episodes of the season before the finale airs.

    I voted "Great", and the average quality of POI is highlighted by the fact that I was about to write: "I only voted great..." (stress the ONLY word).

    The good parts and details were already mentioned by all of you guys that commented before me.

    To become "Awesome" it must have had some Fusco and not have that "The A Team" or "Macgyver" scent of utopic happy ending with the homeless who happened to survive without a scratch (ALL of them) to a gun fight with automatic rifles shooting like crazy...

    PS - as "The A Team" and "Macgyver" define my age, I would welcome someone's help to toss examples that could clarify my opinion to the younger generations :D

    Yep, re-watches are a must, also check out the their podcast, if you aren't already a subscriber, they have some really good theories and tidbits that the casual viewer might miss.

    I love how well thought-out these plots are! They aren't always just unrelated acts of violence at all!

    The whole episode was just awesome. POI does procedural SO well, and the guest casting is always top notch.

    I can't say that it was a 100% shocker left and right because it fell into a similar story that is fairly common in a show like this, but it was done very well and kept it intriguing nonetheless. 

    And the end made the whole episode for me! I knew we'd see Colantoni again soon! 

    PS: This show KNOWS my taste in music so well! First they use Massive Attack at the end of the pilot, and now I got chills when I heard the opening of "Down Boy" By The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I swear they're tailoring this show for me :)

    Isn't it though? You can totally see the influence of the producers/directors on this show! It just feels epic, even down to the cinematography and the stylized look. :)

    I checked out the first Person Of Interest podcast and really, no offense to them, but all their theories were dumb! Maybe it has gotten better, I don't know. One of them actually said in the first podcast that he thought at a point of time that FlashForward and Lost was going to cross-over, or that's how I remember it. There is no way I will listen to something like that. So, I decided not to subscribe...

    Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I listen to a lot of their podcasts and I find them funny and they really pay close attention to certain details like QR codes and the names and the timeline of the machine and I can tell that are big fans of JJ's and C. Nolan and how they always give good Easter eggs. Sometimes, you have to take things with a grain of salt or be in the know to enjoy an inside joke. But the world would be a terrible place if everybody like the same things.

     yes. while watching the second episode, I paused and looked at the opening graphics, which has Michael Emerson's voice over, frame by frame... I was really surprised by the amount of detail in it...

    Whenever they show the machine's point of view, I pause and go frame by  frame to see how the machine is interfacing with the world. It's really interesting...

    Just last episode, in one of the machine POVs, for a couple of frames, you can see the machine run an actual program in a cmd window... As a programmer, I love these little details... It adds an ultra realism to the show...

     yes, there is a very realistic take on technology here... For years, I have been put off by shows like CSI which take a lot of liberties with technology...

    Even thought the core concept of PoI is centered around a non existing technology, everything else they show is surprisingly grounded... blujacking, honeypots... all these things exist! and that makes the show so refreshingly original...
