  1. Awesome! It was so good. I ship Belle/Rumple. And he knows the truth too! And there was Chip! I wonder if those objects are alive in OUAT verse. And I loved the shout-out to Ariel! And awww, poor Rumple at the end!

And yay, Belle is still alive! I knew it! There's going to be a power struggle between Regina and Rumple, and I can't wait. And maybe he'll find out the truth! Hopefully, anyway.

    I loved this episode.

  2. HOLY MOTHER OF POOP! we've known for a while the villains gold and regina both knew their past but i guess regina but now its 100% he knows he's rumple, he remembers his powers and evil as does she. and now the power struggle between the two is bigger then ever im rooting on rumple though. also i liked the ending about the queen wanting to deal about a a mermaid a little hint i bet to ariel. good episode i kinda wasnt a big fan of belle's story though but her character was good. i liked more robert and its fun.

  3. Have to admit I was totally bored until Regina showed up. All the Regina and Gold scenes just totally upped the ante of the entire show and made it a whole lot more interesting. Those two own the whole show. I can't wait until their battle for power really starts.

Or they do now that David has totally broken my heart and made me hate him.

  4. I really wanted there to be a dancing/singing candlestick like in the animated movie... (sorta just kidding)

  5. HOLY MOLEY I'm still in shock! I think this might be my favorite episode of Once yet! I loved Belle and Rumple and totally felt that Emile really stole this whole episode. I loved how Belle told Rumple off after he cast her aside "All you'll have is an empty heart and chipped teacup" (special shout out to Chip from the movie!)

Of course then Regina showed up to tell him that Belle died. I loved how only then did he really realize what a mistake he had made. Oh that was just cruel.

But I knew I KNEW she was still alive! And Regina is keeping them apart!!! What an evil evil EVIL woman hehehe.

But he knew! I knew Gold remembered who he was, that scene with him and Regina in the jail was AWESOME!!!!

So much happened in this episode. It is interesting to see that Rumple is a redeemable character, it really suits. He's done so many truly horrible things in this show, but at the same time, there is still something endearing about him. Maybe it's because we know that the magic is what is truly corrupting him, once that is gone, then he will be free. A curse that he willingly embraced, but we are beginning to see that he really does wish to be free sometimes too.

This show just gets better and better!

  6. Great episode.Admit It many doudted them using rumpy as the Beast In Beauty and the Beast.

At long last we know 100 percent that MR Gold knows the truth. After tonight I doudt anyone will feel
sorry for Regina. And we know she Is real villain of the show. They set up their eventual take on the
Little Mermaid.I felt sure when Mr Gold had Belle's father they were confirming he knows the truth. But,they confirmed It when Regina went to jail. And while Lana Parilla Is very sexy as Regina you have to hate Regina for using Henry as a pawn.

Special word has to be given to emilie de Ravin. Her as belle made a lot of the storybrooke scenes pale.Except those with Robert of course. And good she Is alive. The minute Regina was In hospital I said to myself Belle Isn't dead.

When Gold wants a favor from emma I am sure It will bite her In the ass.

  7. At first I was disappointed to learn that the beast was Rumple, and I thought I was gonna really dislike it, but after that episode I thought it was perfect.

Loved the scene between Gold and Regina in the jail, that just really upped the ante of this show in so many ways, I can't wait to see how this plays out.

  8. Emilie de Ravin was excellent tonight.

  10. In the end I was like "oh, so Belle is alive... whait, what? One flew over the cuckoo's nest is not a fairy tale".

  11. OMG! That was SUCH and AMAZING! episode! I freaked out when Mr. Gold finally told Regina that his real name is Rumpelstiltskin...I'm like "He knows! He knows about the curse! OMG!!!!" XD

  12. It was sooooo good!! I LOVED Emily de Ravin as Belle and the story between her and Rumple. Him as the beast I did not see that coming (well I knew before starting the episode tonight but I didn't know when they casted her a few months ago..) Lots of information revealed tonight.. possibly my favorite episode so far !! Great acting on all parts :)

  13. It was clear from what Mr. Gold was yelling at the flower salesman that he remembered fairytale land.  I was absolutely not expecting him to actually say out loud that he was Rumpelstiltskin.  Wow.  Now I'm wondering what that mans to the story overall.  Are things about to get more interesting in Storybrooke?  Though I didn't figure out until Regina approached that Exit door that Belle would be down there.  Really really really good ep!  I feel like the show might just get better rather than stagnating.  I'm excited.

  14. Your comment about the magic corrupting Rumpy made me wonder...does Mr. Gold have any magic?  (I'd have thought not.)  If not,  does that make it more possible for him to be redeemed?

  15. Fantastic ep I am really enjoying this show. Interesting that Rumplestiltskin remembers.

  16. Best episode of the season. Epic.

    Rumpel/Belle were beautifully tragic.
    Emilie was amazing.
Loved that scene in jail between Regina/Gold.
Loved the ending. So glad Belle's alive and will be back in 1x14.

I could have done without the bar &mary/david scenes. They weren't needed in a Rump/Gold/Belle centric episode.

  17. awesome episode! I just wonder why they are intent on making David someone to hate. It will be hard to forgive him.

  18. Can't believe not one comment about the Game of Thrones Easter Egg! XD

  19. I loved this story line! They just keep surprising me with the Rumple stories. And he knows! Gold knows! And the ending... Belle locked up... brilliant!

  20. This show keeps getting better! What an amazing episode!!

  21. Loved every second of the episode!!!! Well...every second with Rumple and Belle. Beauty and the Beast was always my favourite fairy tale, and now its even more favourite if that´s even possible! Hope they´ll find the way to be together ( or, in Rumple´s case, to find the way to here "tower " :)  )

  23. I couldn't have expressed my thoughts about this episode any better!

Their power struggle is really what intrigues me and nothing about Emma and her sons shannanigans.

  24. I only noticed that painting for a second but it was too fast to catch that reference. :D

  25. Jane Espenson wrote this episode and she also had a hand in writing Episode 1.06 A golden Crown on Game of Thrones. So a little homage to her other works..

I wonder if there were some other nods to earlier projects.....

  26. Niceee. So we might be on the lookout for Adama's little wooden ship in Gold's store, something from Dollhouse, Buffy, Torchwood, Caprica, Firefly etc. lol

    ReplyDelete
  27.  Snow and Charming still my favorite ship  ( I'm sad about twriters did to David last night)

     Belle/Rumple.are the 2nd now

  28. Good lord, you would find someone to ship in a porn

  29. Much improved.
     - Emilie de Ravin did a great job as Aussie Belle.
     - Gaston was completely owned by Rumple.  That amused me.
     - There were no frustratingly annoying plot holes or brazen examples of logic defiance, with one exception:
Emma gets an alert from the station about a break-in at Gold's place but the only law enforcement official we've ever seen there (besides the late Sheriff Graham) is Emma.  Who the hell texted her?
     - Why did Emma cuff Mr. Gold with his hands in front?  His hands should have been cuffed behind him.
     - I loved that Regina and Gold put their cards on the table.  It's a nice step forward.
     - So Regina has her own hidden dungeon in the basement of the hospital masquerading as a psych ward?
     - I'm more than a little disappointed at Ruby's approach to relationships.
     - Does the Sheriff's office have security cameras?  It would be nice if Regina & Gold's talk was caught on tape for Emma to watch.
     - "Game of Thorns."  Funny.  I guess Storybrooke gets HBO.

    Now, let's talk about David.
I'm starting to see some David hate and, in conjunction, hate toward the writers for how the character is being written.  I get that people are disappointed in both his behavior and his decisions and that's fine.  David's lies and his indecision aren't things that should be supported.  That being said, I think a lot of people are overreacting to the situation.

One of the mission statements of OUAT from the beginning was to fill in the blanks of these characters' stories and dirty-up (or un-Disney, if you will) these fairy tales.  Every single character on this show is flawed, even the "good" characters, and that is by design.
     - Cinderella (Ashley) is an unwed mother who broke into a local business in an attempted theft.
     - Snow is a thief and an adulteress.
     - Red Riding Hood committed some yet-to-be-revealed wrongdoing and is a bit skanky.
     - Emma is a law enforcement official who breaks the law.
     - Dr. Hopper shared confidential files and sold out his own patient under pressure from Regina and Jiminy was a grifter.
People seem to be holding David (Prince Charming) to a higher standard than the rest of these characters and that just isn't fair.  David is making mistakes and bad decisions just like everyone else on this show but he's getting more flack than other characters for his actions.  Viewers shouldn't expect David (or charming) to be perfect when Once Upon A Time makes it abundantly clear every week that these are all real people with real problems and real flaws.

  30. Fantastic episode!  Emilie de Ravin was absolutely fantastic - she brought a lot of life to her role, and I loved everything about her.  Even the costume changes they had her go through were fun, and linked the Disney version with our twisty one.  I mean, come on... Chip was even there!  :)  And Gaston getting turned into the rose?  Hilarious - and a total shock.  I enjoyed seeing that other side of Rumpelstiltskin as well - every now and then we get the reminder that there is a man in there somewhere, buried deep down underneath all the pain and manipulation.

And Regina said "True love's kiss will break any curse" - so does that mean that's how Graham remembered his life outside of Storybrooke?  If so, tough break for Emma... you don't exactly find true love around every corner.

  31. Emma, David and Mary Margaret really brought the episode down for me.

Really Lana and Robert are great no matter what, and personally I prefer Ashley/Sean (Ella/Thomas) in term of fairy tale romance and princess/prince. Also Ruby's awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I completely agree with you about David. Of course I don't condone cheating, but I like grayness in characters and I wouldn't be watching this show if it was too Disney-ish. I've also never had a problem with Emma being less than perfect either.

    ReplyDelete
  33. love it, Regina was more evil than Rumple in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I am just wondering why Rumple didn't simply ask Regina to "please" give him the cup. She would have had to do it and he wouldn't have to reveal that he knows about the curse. Maybe he wanted her to know that he knows, but it didn't seem like that to me ...

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think the difference with David is that his Prince Charming is perfect.  Thus far I think he is the only fairytale character without a flaw and consequently the audience is expecting the same strength of character from David.

  36. This show just gets better and better! I loved this episode! I was growing a little weary of Emma/Henry story since I felt it wasn't going anywhere. not yet anyway. The Sidney Glass episode was good, but a bit stale, he's a boring character imo.
After reading people's comments I was prepared to not like Belle and Rumple/Beast story, but, o boy, I was blown away! I had never been a fan of Claire in Lost, but Emilie really surprised me as Belle. And Rumple... he just gets more awesome all the time. 10/10

  37. The Queen/Regina was particularly evil this time!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Awesome!!! Regina's so evil!!!!!! But why is she keeping Belle in that place?? Can't wait for next week!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Love makes people stupid and crazy. I loved that the cup was Chip (Beauty and The Beast is my favorite right after Little Mermaid (which was referenced as well in this episode). At least we finally know that both players are in it to win it. So that means he definitely knows about Emma and that is why he procured Henry for Regina.

  40. I giggled. I guess they know Winter is Coming, too.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Okay, I was wondering about that too. We see all his fairy tale land keepsakes and we know Regina has hers as well. We know that fairy tale land is literally just below the surface. And I can't help thinking that we keep seeing Mr. Gold out in the woods with a shovel.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'D FORGOTTEN ABOUT MR. GOLD AND THE SHOVEL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I want to know what made Regina so evil... maybe she was just a bad seed from the day she was born. If she wanted power how come she didn't just track down the guy Rumpy got his powers from in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  44. yay. Awesome episode! I am really looking forward to hear about tales from homeboy HCA!

    ReplyDelete
  45. The Chip thing doesn't have that added sentimental value for me because I've never seen the Disney version of Beauty and The Beast (except for some songs) or the Disney version of Little Mermaid for that matter. I liked the scene (minus him being stupid and show his hand unnecessarily), it was well acted, but IMO it was clear since the first episode that Rumple was aware of the curse, they have made it very blatant. But yeah, you are probably right, it seems the writers wanted to show us without any doubt he has very deep feelings for and about Belle (not only love, but also guilt) and that's why he couldn't think clearly at that moment.
