I liked Quinn at first, but this episode made me dislike her. Barney is so freaking desperate it's not even funny anymore. Glad Ted knocked some sense into him.
And LOL at the Robin/Marshall/Lily subplot. I cannot believe Ted gave up his apartment to Marshall and Lily. I was not expecting that! Is he going to move into his house now or what?
I hate Quinn. Also, it was unique/interesting to see Barney go against his normal behavior and fall for a girl the first few times (Nora, Robin) but Quinn just seems like such a repeat of the Nora situation to me and the fact that they made her a stripper seems like a really cheap/ineffective way of making it seem different. I'm so over it already.
also, I REALLY hate that they're trying to make this strong, independent female out of a stripper. I know there are some who think that stripping is this strong feminist but having been on the inside of a strip club and knowing several strippers, I couldn't disagree more.
Awww! I love what they did with the apartment! I had the widest smile EVER when Marshall and Lily were reading that note :) I'm not sure how I feel about Quinn, now. She seemed like she might be fun at first, but they made her pretty unlikable in this episode.. we'll see where they take it, I guess.
I really, really don't like Quinn and I hate that Barney does. They just don't have the right chemistry, imo. Nora was a better fit, though she wasn't better than Robin. It's like Quinn is the opposite of Nora, and neither has the chemistry Robin has with Barney. Ok, so I'm a shipper, but still, Quinn is not cool.
Now as for the other plots in this ep, I really liked them. I love how Lily and Marshall tried to get Robin to live with them and I love that they are back to the big city. And I love that Ted is finally moving on, literally. I didn't expect that, but it was a nice surprise. Also, I LOL at Patrice waiting for Robin, it was so sweet and funny, that I kinda hope that they'll live together, it'll make room for funny situations, imo.
It was a pretty good ep, i disagree about quinn, i really liked the way they presented the girl, with more interaction, it was funny, you can say no to stripper jokes (?). I Think the scene when we find the aparment empty and the note, it was an "aaaawww" moment, we havent had any on this season me thinks. I Would give this episode 7/10
I actually like Quinn. Nora was to nice / to innocent for Barney. I think we could have a really good arc with Barney and Quinn helping each other become better people. All this hate to her so far just seems misplaced and to early.
Well, Quinn is Karma for Barney, so I really want to see how this plays out.
She's obviously not the bride, and if she is, I don't think it will last. She really messes Barney up, even if she isn't really evil.
It just looks like a destructive relationship at worst, a missplaced affecion at best. Tough, I'm enjoying Newton as Quinn, and I am sure she will be the catalyst for some big revelations for Barney. I really like how different is she in relation with Barney's past relationships, there's room for some pretty interesting stuff.
Really? All what you've got from this episode is this Quinn+Barney thing? Seriously? Ted in past two episodes made the biggest steps towards his future and dreams and all you care about is some crappy-bullshit-gooey-not-funny romance? Come on.
I really don't care about Robin's plot. She is annoying, toxic and she ruins the show. But I do love how Ted is moving on and evolving, He deserves happiness, he has such a good heart, yet he still can't find himself with the right woman. And all of this because of Robin. I hope he will see the light in tunnel soon, because I don't know if I can stand more of Robin-crap.
True, but then I gave her a chance and liked her in her introductory episode. I didn't like her for Barney at the time, but I still liked her. This changed my mind completely.
Great episode. You can tell we are in the final stage. Few weeks back, they showed empty booth, now the apartment is empty, we certainly came a long way since those first episodes. Barney is falling in love, Robin is realizing her dream, Ted is moving on...I love it
I agree about Ted, this was one of those episodes that make me thing "how can anyone not like Ted". Ted's story has been an important part of the past two episodes, and the best part, and I agree it's incredulous how people have hardly mentioned it, instead focusing on the minor subplot.
Disagree about Robin though, I've always loved her although they are bringing her down with the Barney crap, the crazy shippers aren't helping either.
The things I say about Robin are said by me mostly, because I just wanna annoy those shippers. :) All this cheering up for Robin+Barney or Ted+Robin or Barney+Quinn thing is retarded and I dislike it with pure passion.
Just to remind you, all of you: THIS SHOW IS ABOUT TED, FINDING THE MOTHER. Not Barney banging every girl in NY, neither about Robin being bitch to every person she knows (seriously, She pisses on everyone, literally).
Love the fact that Ted gave up his apartment to Marshall & Lily. I didn't see that coming. Barney has grown up a lot. I hope Ted moves in into his house now, we haven't seen or heard about that house for a few seasons!
I actually liked that episode. I am very very surprised but I like Quinn - and I like her and Barney. Still 100% rooting for Barney/Robin though. But Quinn is so much better than Nora.....so far. Sad in one way about Ted giving Lily and Marshall his apartment - I know they used to live there but the show is gonna change so much with Ted not living there :( But happy that L & M are moving back to the city.
OK. It's a transition episode so it was cleaning up some threads and setting characters on a new path. Had to be done. Looking forward to where it's going now.
I like Barney's character development. Robin's refusal of him seems to have made him question what he really wants in life. And he's come to a place where he wants something more. He wanted it with Robin and because he believes he cannot have that anymore, I like that he's recognizing he still wants someone.
I agree...I think it is a perfect opportunity for the two to help each other become more trusting and just overall better people. Plus, I can't really blame Nora for playing Barney. A, it's her job, B, how could she really know he was different from any other guy when she met him, and C, it was technically Barney's fault for being gullible. So yes, I like Quinn, and I'm curious to see where they take the relationship. Plus, Barney dating a stripper seems like a no-brainer lol
I agree, I still love Ted, and I still love Robin as well. I just can't stand the thought of potentially having more Robin/Barney stuff...so annoying, and just brings the show down in my opinion. So at the very least introducing Quinn to the mix is better than reverting to that.
This was an okay episode for me the only parts I liked was Ted's story and Marshall & Lily moving back to the city. I don't like Quinn and I don't care if she becomes the nicest person on the planet I just can't see Barney with her. This makes Nora look great in my eyes and season 6 my favorite overall season.
Its not that I hate him or whatever he is a great character but its like LOST when they were in the cages (If you watched the show) its like they don't know what to do with him so they make up little "milestones" like moving out of the apt, seeing the mothers foot, buying the house... he cant grow as a character anymore. Mother has to come soon.
Well, I was one who was not bitter about the end. I wanted to save rewatching it for awhile and it's been off the air for a couple years so I just went for it. And it took me TWO weeks to watch. :P But I finished it last week. Still impressive though, if I say so myself!
I love re watching lost. I do it at least once a year. I do that with all my shows, Buffy, Supernatural, Smallville, the OC every couple of years oh and That 70's show as well. It got me into watching TV shows seasons at a time.
True, but then I gave her a chance and liked her in her introductory episode. I didn't like her for Barney at the time, but I still liked her. This changed my mind completely.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Need more Newton on my screen!!
I like Quinn.. you know who is getting annoying? Ted.

Ted is not annoying.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the first time I've voted "awful"
ReplyDeleteI really liked Quinn. Barney kinda deserved what she did to him first, but then they got together.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but then I gave her a chance and liked her in her introductory episode. I didn't like her for Barney at the time, but I still liked her. This changed my mind completely.

To be fair, Ted's always been a little annoying. Overall I like him but sometimes I am just like "Dude! Wake up."

ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, of course I watched Lost! In fact, I just finished a complete rewatch last week.
WOW! I have yet to bring myself to re-watch Lost in its entirety, I don't think I ever. I am just too bitter. But a week? That's impressive.
