  1. Awesome!! A near perfect episode.

  2. They are so completely forgiven for last week's crapfest. I absolutely loved it tonight. Thank God Ted finally got a freaking clue about Barney/Robin. And Barney and Ted had a real conversation!

Barney is so grown up and I loved that. LOL at Marshall and Lily's bets. That was hilarious.

And I'm so glad the Robin/Ted storyline is closed for good. They wrapped it up well.

And we're just thismuch closer to Barney/Robin getting back together. He clearly still loves her and the fact that he wants her to be happy is adorable. And yay, Robin definitely does love him!

I cannot wait for the next episode!

  3. "Not yet." I will cling to that. :)

  4. aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh robin and barney need to get together NOW

  5. Yeah, don't read into this. Ted/Robin just isn't going to happen again. This episode proved that.

  6. As much as I liked Marshall through this 7 seasons, his last line made me so mad and angry that I woke up roommates (I live in Europe, it's 2 AM here :D).
About the episode. PURE AWESOMENESS. Not because It was funny, but because WE ARE FINALLY DONE with Ted/Robin thing, we can finally see Ted moving on, and we are one step closer to meeting the mother. I LOVE IT!Also Lily wasn't annoying, Barney grown up.

Only this last line of Marshall concerns me a lot, but I do hope that this is only for sake of their bet. :)

  7. Yeah  I believe even more so now after this episode that Robin and Ted will end up together. Even if she isn't the mother it dosen't mean that he has to end up with the mother, and maybe this is why future ted calls her Aunt Robin

    ReplyDelete
  8. Just give it a break. Why, why in the world would they end up together? Where is the logic behind that? Robin does not love him, Ted is moving on. Come on. Don't give us that crap.
Besides: every TVseries critics are hardly criticizing Producers because simply we saw enough on Ted&Robin. And this is not Soap Opera, but sitcom.

PS: Watch 1x01. At the end of the episode, Ted says: "And that's how I met your aunt Robin".

  9. Sorry to burst your bubble, but Ted/Robin have closure now. They are 100% done after this episode. Their back up plan is over, Robin's moved out, and Ted is thisclose to meeting The Mother. (At Barney and Robin's wedding.)

Ted also refers to Marshall, Lily, and Barney as "Uncles" and "Aunt" to the kids. "Aunt Robin" means absolutely nothing.

They're over now - Accept it.

  10. Also dunno if anyone else noticed the movie that Ted and the mother were going to see was called THE WEDDING BRIDE 3 LOL

  11. Yes, I feel at least somewhat similarly...if Marshall had handed over that money I would know that it was over, but that final statement felt like a very heavy line to not go anywhere. At the very least I still don't think the writers are quite done with Ted/Robin, despite what people may think.

  12. Or maybe creators are just messing with us? THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LOGIC POINT IN GETTING ROBIN AND TED BACK TOGETHER. THEY ARE DONE, GET OVER IT.

  13. Unbelievable episode.  In the pilot, narrator Ted calls Robin the "love of his life."  They've held true to that for seven years.

Unfortunately, in the real world, you rarely truly end up with the love of your life, and HIMYM stays true to this.  Ted will always love Robin, and Robin will always love Ted, but just not enough to settle down and marry him (hence why she always brings up the "40" marriage thing).

Good for Ted for realizing it's time to move.  I kind of like how they left things open ended in the final scene.  Those two will always have feelings for each other, and closing the door "forever" just doesn't seem right.

I will say that this one episode probably should have been turned into a multi-episode arc - it was a bit rushed.

But for now, lets finally get on to the mother!

  14. No reason to get snippy now. I'm just saying that I've always liked Ted/Robin and that something seems likely to be addressed given Marshall's comment. I didn't say that it meant they were going to get back together. It's my opinion, and I'd rather not get "yelled" at for it, thanks.

  15. Finally closure over Robin/Ted. People should not take that 'Not Yet' too seriously. I'm pretty sure he'll pay up when either Robin or Ted gets married. Marshall is like one of those optimistic people.

Overal, I liked the episode because we are a step closer to the end.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I agree...very nicely put!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, I agree with you! Marshall's definitely going to pay up at Barney and Robin's wedding.

  18. I loved the long-term bet box!  And thanks for waking up, Ted - I wondered when he'd put together the pieces from that heartbreaking night with the rose petals.. it makes me sad that Barney seems resigned that she doesn't have feelings for him, but he's also being really mature about the whole thing, which is cool.  As much as I hated this trip down memory lane, I enjoyed seeing a glimpse of dinner at the restaurant with the blue french horn.. complete with padlock  ;)  And the yellow umbrella effect at the end was kind of cool.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I hope it's closed for good - that "not yet" at the end of the episode made me nervous.. but maybe it's just Marshall being Marshall.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Eh, I'm not worried. Marshall's an eternal optimist and I have a feeling he'll pay up at Barney and Robin's wedding.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why would his kids call their dad's girlfriend "Aunt Robin"?

    ReplyDelete
  22. i think that the 'not yet' was there for a reason you remember the mermaid theory last season there was the ticking as though something was going to happen and it did

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree wholeheartedly - and they really shouldn't have tried to resolve this in a single episode.  As much as I'm not a fan of them revisiting the Ted/Robin dynamic, it was nice to bookend the start of the series and move forward - but it DID seem rushed.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Very true - one of the things I love about Marshall is his attempts to stay happy and positive in any given situation.

    ReplyDelete
  25. HIMYM rarely has continuity errors, but I just realized something: Didn't Ted steal the blue french horn for Robin from the restaurant again in season 5?  They never showed him return it, although I guess the restaurant could have gotten another one.

  26. Finally.  I feel like the HIMYM writers have been kinda shaky this season, but this episode was perfect.  Great moments for every character, especially Barney getting to prove that he has grown up some in the last few years, and some real closure for Ted and Robin. For a show that said they'd wouldn't end up together from day one, it took them almost seven years to let them go.  I don't know if Robin will end up with Barney, or if she'll end up with anyone for that matter, and I don't know how long it'll be before Ted meets the mother, but I'm glad whatever they're doing and whenever it happens, we got this episode to bookmark their relationship.

  27. This was a fantastic episode one of the best of the series and the best episode of the season.

Barney & Robin will work it out in the end though I think Robin needs to work on trying to fix her life and then if she really does love Barney she will tell him. Barney has done way too much already for Robin and that's including telling her that he loves her, yes he didn't say it to her but he does love her and he's so hurt from what happened between them that he doesn't have the energy to make another move. Robin needs to be the one who realizes after she fixes her life that she does love Barney and that he is her ONE just as Barney already knows that She is his ONE.

  28. Great episode, so much better than last week.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think Ted and Robin are over. I'm going to guess that the "Not Yet." at the end will be brought back when Ted is with the mother and Marshall will finally have to admit he lost.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Final thought on the episode tonight:

Ted and Marshall have the deepest, most genuine friendship on television.  They had some great moments tonight, behind all the Ted/Robin stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  31.  It was returned actually. I forgot what episode and what season exactly but the horn does get back to the restaurant. Some time after Stella. I know that much.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I wouldn't call it Barney and Robin's wedding. I feel they're setting it up for Barney to have kids, which Robin clearly won't have. I also think this episode marked Barney moving on a bit. I'm not saying they won't end up together, just that I think there's a large chance they won't.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I still believe it'll be Barney and Robin's wedding at the end, I'll be eternally optimistic about that.
Finally closure for ted/robin, it was long overdue but Thank God ted's finally realised enough to move on

    ReplyDelete
  34. As well as you should accept Barney told Robin broke his heart

    ReplyDelete
  35. I apologise to the writers for thinking that the ending last week was such a stupid move. It was a great episode!

I hope a small mention of Marshall and Lily's bets appear in future episodes (even just a simple "pay up")

  36. Has nobody else here seen Conan when Barney stormed out the bar to find the sex tape?

    ReplyDelete
  37. I completely agree, by far one of the best episodes i've seen this season!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Someone knows which is the song at the end of tonight's episode?

    ReplyDelete
  39.  Yeah, I do accept that. It's true. And she's going to need to apologize and win him back.

    ReplyDelete
  40.  The creators of the show said that Robin's infertility is not a dealbreaker. I believe them. I was convinced of this before they said.

Still 100% convinced that she's The Bride and nothing is going to sway me otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Florence and the Machine - Shake it out
Their whole album is great btw :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Agreed.  They're consistent, no matter what crazy situations they all get themselves into.  It's so fun to watch!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don't think Robins going to be the bride, its going to be someone else, but Robin is going to stop it and confess her true feelings about Barney or something like that

    ReplyDelete
  44. I loved that long-term bet box.. here's hoping they keep it around!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yep!  I actually had to watch the episode twice, haha - I was so focused on looking for that "special someone" in the bar that NPH tweeted about that I missed like half of the dialogue of the show haha

    ReplyDelete
  46.  The creators of the show also said that isn't going to happen either - The wedding will happen and Barney will get married.

    Thus, it's Robin.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I was really upset at the way they ended last weeks episode...and definitely thought, no not again..but now I kinda liked it as it was necessary for all the movement to happen in this episode...and I agree iwth a lot of you..i thought it was the best overall episode of this season and reminiscent of earlier in the series...

    ReplyDelete
  48. A grown up episode for everyone : Ted finally admitting to himself it's time to move on, Marshall helping his best friend (a true friendship that really broke my heart in the good way), Robin being honest with Ted & with herself and Barney absolutely magic and surprising (I really thought he was going to react the same way as season 4 about this Ted-Robin thing) and Lily really pissed me off : what kind of friend does bets on her friends ? Come On !

Otherwise, an EXCELLENT episode for HIMYM !

    ReplyDelete
  49. I liked it, it was pretty awesome. And finally there is some closure for Ted and Robin, loved the scene with those yellow umbrellas. The betting thing was pretty funny, the only thing I somehow didn't like was Marshalls last comment - it made me fear that Ted/Robin isn't completely over.

    ReplyDelete
  50.  Great episode. Finally! Ted can move on! The ending scene with the umbellas was really good. Still think Barney and Robin are not over.

    ReplyDelete
  51.  I didn't notice! But did he paid money only for that short scene? Doesn't seem fair.

    ReplyDelete
  52. He won that at some auction which was for a good cause. Then the writers proposed to give him a bigger role, but he said it would be much funnier if he just stood around in the background just like he did.

    ReplyDelete
  53.  Your hubris about this is actually making me wish the Robin isn't the bride. And that's something that I've been for, for a long time. Congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Disagree. It can only happen at the end! Barney needs to be single, they can totally end up together but Barney works best when he is single!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think you care too much.... just a tv show.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Really good episode! How I love the ones that includes a litle sparkle of Robin and Barney. Regardless of how small it was

    ReplyDelete
  57. It was a great episode! I liked the way Ted and Robin finally get closure. And I loved the talk between Barney and Ted! And Barney's explanation of his story with Robin...
