It was good! LOL, Steve is so a top. And LOL at Danny complaining about how he left Steve alone for two seconds and he ended up going over a roof. Ugh at Lori having feelings for Steve.
I'll be sad to see Lori go. I liked her. But it'll be nice to get back to just the core four again.
Yep,Lori grew on me too,but for months with all the promos on tv for the show they never included Lori in the group,so we knew the writers were using her as a throw away character..
I thought it was a good episode. I'm definitely not sad to see Lori go. I have nothing against the actress, but I feel like the character was poorly written and barely used.
I liked this episode. Last weeks was better, but this was good. I'm not a Lori fan, so seeing her go was fine with me. So I guess she was suppose to report to the governor, but did not because of her feelings for Steve. I don't want to gloat, I know some of you liked Lori. Well, I'm glad Catherine was back, would have liked to see a little more of her, also someone should have told her Steve was in the hospital. But, I love that Chin got to kick some but, although he got caught. I still love the scene where they are bidding on the football tickets. A little of the cargument, outside the car. I guess the governor is going to a thorn in the side of 5-0 from now on. No more spy though. Kono was great as usual. They are starting to get back to last years feel.
For some reasons the line "Ding Dong the witch is dead" started going through my mind when I realized Lori is gone!
Loved Chin just dropping into sync with the Governor after he got off the phone.
But you know...I was really luke warm toward this episode. I think it's because some elements seemed to be rushed. I think I might have liked it better without the time jumps and the tease that it was Steve who had the code blue called on him.
My big laugh was the consulate head guy stating that the Russian citizen he was trying to keep from providing a blood sample was innocent until proven guilty.
I liked the ep alot as well. I also liked Lori outside of the times that it seemed that they were trying to inject a love interest for Steve. I'll be sad to see her go, but as someone said earlier, more time for the original crew.
danny speaks in russian- so funny...great banters- very intense- the scene of the accident was very realistic- i felt my belly intense. i'm sad that Lori leaves.
Really enjoyed the case and it was so nice to see some proper Danny/Steve banter as well as the four core members working together. Finally, we got to see Max again - I missed him. Not sorry at all to see Lori go - poor character, poorly written and not acted well. It made me laugh that they made a big fuss about her not doing her job of reporting to the governer when it hasn't been mentioned at all since she joined. It was a plot device to get her on the team and it was a device to get her off the team. Hopefully we can back to some of that season 1 spark now.
Given the gap between her saying she had feelings for Steve, and the rest of the team, I wonder whether the writers were trying to tease fans who didn't like the idea of her and Steve hooking up. Not absolutely sure that she meant it that way, anyway, but more of loyalty and friendship. Not sure they did a good enough job setting it up though. Might have been better if they had scenes in other episodes showing her conflicted, and arguing with them, and threatening to tell the governor about their behaviour. Seems to come out of left field, the way they did it.
I liked the episode. Some stuff as usual is not credible. And we finally got rid of BoriLori. I'm glad that we had Cath back. She's lovely, and she's good with McG.
The ep as a whole was kinda blah. Just a general, run of the mill ep. Didn't really hold my interest very much other than the wonderful Steve-Danny banter at the auction and the consulate. Wish Danny spoke more Russian (since the blogs made SUCH a big deal about it -- but they tend to over expose things like this a lot). The only shining moment was the last five minutes with the resignation of Lori (is it permanent -- is she gone for good?) The character, sadly, never really gelled with the rest of the characters, seemed to be forced upon the four (and the viewer) and really, didn't seem to fit in IMO. I hope now she's gone, the writers will focus back on the four and give the viewers what made 5-0 such a great show in S1: character development, banter, team dynamic, etc.
Well that last few episode were okay, but the best one was last week with Gracie being kidnapped. I hope you liked that one Kathleen. I read somewhere that they are making some changes. Hopefully for the best. I always like the banter between Danny and Steve. The writing isn't very good this year and the rating are showing it. I read a twitter about Peter lenkov, and he says it is not the fans who are going to decide what we write, anyways he should know the writing sucks this year, maybe the ratings wouldbe better.
I hope you're right. They made unnecessary changes at the beginning of this season. I still don't understand why they would change the format that clearly worked after only one year. They've barely scratched the surface with the 4 main characters and then they go and add a fifth that didn't add anything to the mix? That really makes no sense. They obviously never figured out what they wanted the character of Lori to be, so she just became an annoying distraction that was used for techno-babble and shoe-horned into 'team' situations when she'd never developed a relationship with the team. I hope they realize their mistake and bring back the Steve-Danny banter and give the stars of the show something to do other than play back-up for guest stars. it was one of my favorite new shows last year. I'm still watching, but my patience is wearing thin.
Oh, and I loved the ep last week. Danny in full-on papa mode was wonderful. That's drama.
Am I the only one hopeless romantic in here who actually liked Steve/Lori possible romance? She annoyed me at first, but then she's grown on me. I'll miss her.
Also, loved the episode. When Danny complaint about letting Steve out of his sight for two seconds - hilarious ;)
A very interesting story this week. It was a typical over-the-top H50 plot but fun nonetheless. That's not why I'm posting though. This is...
Hey, Hawaii Five-0 producers! Kiss my ass. Why would you bring on a new character, make the actress who plays said character a series regular, and then summarily dismiss that person after doing absolutely NOTHING with that character? What a waste. It's a waste for the viewers who tune in every week, it's a waste for person you hired, and it's a waste of screen time that could have been used more productively.
The idea of Lori Weston was a good one. A character brought in to keep tabs on 5-0 and keep them in line could have been great. It SHOULD have been great. It could have created conflicts and tested loyalties and could have make the Governor more active on the show. None of that happened. NONE of it. All of that potential was sidelined by Joe and Shelburne and Lori Weston was demoted to a flirty space filler.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It was good! LOL, Steve is so a top. And LOL at Danny complaining about how he left Steve alone for two seconds and he ended up going over a roof. Ugh at Lori having feelings for Steve.

ReplyDeleteI liked Lori when she wasn't being set up as Steve's love interest. Not to sorry to see her go though. More screentime for the original 4.

ReplyDeleteITA with everything you said :D
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to see the chapter from Spain. Someone can tell me if Steve finally somethinghappened and it is he who ends up in the hospital?

ReplyDeleteI wonder since Lori is gone if the governor will bring someone else in to watch the team especially now considering what happened in this episode?

ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that we will find out if danny can swim or not in this episode can't wait to see
ReplyDeleteI'm sad for Lori. I miss her already.
ReplyDeleteFinally Lori is gone, she did not add to the show at all. It was not a good fit to begin with. I am not sad to see her go.
