I absolutely loved it! One of my favorite episodes! I so called Mark being the father of Addison's father and I'm so happy to be right! And I loved Geeky!Alex and then he cheated on Meredith and I was sad, but then he cried and Crying!Alex is good, so I was fine again.
Owen was so cheating with "this guy" Teddy. And really should tell his wife the truth because he could have hurt the kids. And how the hell did they end up so blonde?
It was just okay for me....I knew that wasn't Derek's child....so to summarize.....no matter the "reality" everyone remains the same... except Lexie. Does anyone else think that Eric Dane (Mark) is a horrible actor??
Wow, I can't believe the "What if" was so radical that the specialties even changed! Callie as cardio? It was sweet to see that the chief was still attentive to Bailey, even if she wasn't the hardcore attending we know and love. I liked seeing Charles back - he was one of the only Mercy West people I actually liked. Shiny Meredith was weeeeeird, and Alex was adorable.. well, you know.. until that little indiscretion.. Also, I figured the baby wouldn't be Derek's.. but it was nice to see Addison pregnant, since the poor thing can't seem to make it work in the real world :(
derek kinda a jerk til the end at the bar - i'm just a guy in the bar and your just a girl in the bar drinking tequila. We are so going to have sex tonight you could see it printed on his forehead and flashing like it was on the las vegas strip. Except this time i guess it was at trailer haha since Mer still lived at home apparently.
Thought it was a pretty good episode, lesson learnt from the school of Shonda. All the throwbacks were classic Grey's and so knew that child wasn't Derek's, had me intrigued how they were showing us what will most likely happen next as in who may be together eventually. Alex and April.
Aww ppl this was a wicked episode; a look at the big question we all ask what if. the main point was that we can ask all the what ifs we want at times there are just those things in our life that will happen because they are supposed.
Case and point MerDer is always to happen. All through the episode Derek looked miserable not really happy till he spoke to Meredith and it began again, a guy meeting a girl at a bar. The question was would Mer be happy and normal if her mother was still alive and if Richard had never left her, but she wasn't her best friend and bf were having an affair, her mother is completely overbearing and seeking only things that would give her good pr. I just loved coming down to the end that Christina and Meredith came together to save lexi and that were able to have drinks and become friends. The difference between What If Meredith and Usual Meredith is that it took her longer to stand on her own to feet and not let her mother control her. I liked this episode it was fun a bit predictable but fun and a really nice way of looking at the fact that we might say what if a number of times and question our actions but at times in the end we will end up just as we are. that is how the journey works.
I really liked its message and its twist and turns
well i happen to love mark regardless of his faults and i knew that baby was not derecks and i never cared for addison but at least if it did happen like that well addison would have been lucky anyway and alex and meredith too weird sorry it could not last because of him cheating with april anyway at least owen well i dont know about that
I think that's what I loved about it - it played into the whole idea of destiny, like no matter how different you begin, you're going to find your way to who you're meant to be in the end. In addition to Meredith/Derek and Meredith/Cristina, you saw the looks that Callie and Arizona shared, Meredith's resentment toward her mom, Richard's kind and caring nature, and even Bailey's transformation at the end. It started to point things in the direction of how we know them in the reality of the show.
i loved seeing a different side of lexie that was about it. I mean over it was good but i wish they had a better ending. i mean half the storylines just went off at the end. Mere helps Lexie more than likely because she knew who it was but she never told anybody, i mean you saw the look on her face but i mean come on there had to be and endign seen between those 2.
It was such a great episode. I loved how they used old songs from Grey's, and even the dialogue was the same as in the first episode with Cristina saying: "we don't have to do the thing when someone cries..." and all that about "you look like a mess / i look better than you / that's not possible" thing. BTW Derek was wearing his red shirt.
I believe it was funny to see how things could've been. Though Meredith telling her mum to get Izzie fired after the Denny stuff was so not cool.
Fuck it, I might as well say BEST. EPISODE. EVAH!! And I say it without shame.
Haters back off XD. But really, this episode was just about those things that make the characters "them" so core, so truthful to the essence. All the twists and turns were nothing but reflections of the characters that we love under a different light.
I laughed my ass off, I cried, it was the perfect marriage between characters and self referential. Charlie saying "Just shoot me now" was just so dark I could help laugh my ass off.
The Calzona is eternal, and oh Capshaw you so coy ;D I mean seriously, two straight woman should not be allowed to have such chemistry, they make me wish I was a lesbian.
Owen/Christina exists every-if, it was slightly melancholic.
Addie and Derek were never going to make it. (kudos for that hotel room throwback)
Ellis, I just loved the character. She was the embodiment of the power-suit clad woman that fights to have it all. Richard, all love, he should have been a father.
Mer, oh Mer, so shiny and bright that gives me the creeps, but at the end, she is Mer.
Christina and Meredith are forever no matter what, they are one of my best friendhips ever besides Willow and Buffy.
Alex, he really broke my heart. He is a fuck up in every reality, and he knows it.
Mandy, simply Rocks.
Poor Lexie, Jackson, pretty much the same guy! April, pretty much the same girl, if phonier. I was really in "YOU HOE" mode until she broke in front of Mer. It's okay April, if Alex wanted me, I would have said yes as well :/
Charlie, why did you have to die? best reactions shots ever in a long time!
I loled at Izzy, if Meredith was the sunny one, she just was the crazy one XD and poor George, he needed them friends :(
Merder <3
It was a really great breather episode (Much needed after the last few ones) and great references on the mythology. I just loved this episode so much!! I reeeeally love what if's and this one was just so freaking amazing! Thank's you Grey's :D
Agreed in everything but about Izzy getting fired. It really set Mer's character, it was all about pleasing mommy. Kinda creepy/sad but poignant, Meredith would never be part in something that would tarnish Ellis' reputation.
i guess i liked it, i think it would have been waaaay better if it had been a double ep, with more time the changes could have been juicer and had more consequences. eg: the look between calllie and arizona before callies kids came over. or kepner being a slut, owen and his skype emotional affair with teddy. i like the music from season 1 and the call-backs with mark and ady, and the red shirt. aside from the mer der and yang relationships none of the other characters really 'forefilled' any of their changes, they just seemed to be there to be different.
How can anyone consider that episode good or even the best of them all? It's not even a part of the story!!! It was an alternate reality, which means, ANYTHING goes, meaning the writers could have made Alex and Derek be a gay couple, if they wanted to. But it doesn't matter, because the reality of the show is all the episodes in each season.
I thought it was ok. I kind of disliked Meredith a little, telling on Izzie?? Her and her little group of happy shiny friends were a little smug so I'm glad she got back to normal at the end!!! April as her person? Yeah, right!!!! Cristina would never do that to her haha!!! Alex was an ass but I was so happy when Cristina caught them, it freed Mer up for Derek haha!!! Ellis was a bitch as usual and Richard was awesome but like Mer said he was small!!! I don't get why people are saying Derek's a jerk, um, hello people Addison was letting him believe that the baby was his???? How is he the bad guy??? I just don't get it, maybe because I'm not an Addison fan but letting him believe the baby was his to trick him into staying with her is a horrible thing to do so I'm glad Mark came and freed him up for Meredith!!! The end scene with Mer and Cristina and then MerDer was the best part of the episode!!! Reminded me why I love GA so much!!! :) !!!
Loved the episode! The George and Izzie references were great, I liked how they played old songs as well. I enjoyed seeing the end, when they all started becoming who we know them to be, and the various tributes they made like with the Mark/Addison/Derek hotel situation, and the Cristina/Meredith stuff. So knew they'd still end up together!
Also, I'm thinking that maybe Derek is unhappy because he still caught Addison sleeping with Mark but decided to try and make it work, and this was the baby that she aborted (the one that Mark was all pissed at her for)
BEST EPISODE EVER!!! i wish it was longer or at least hope they do a follow up episode!!! words dont describe how much i loved it!! everything was perfect. if that was a new show i would completely watch it!
u take that back i dont want Alex and April together. Although its so clear that is the direction they are going in. I really need April to remember drunk Bailey. lol
I didn't like this episode. Apparently, Eliis not getting ill means everyone (bar maybe Arizona) turns out completely unlikeable and annoying. The storylines were rushed and the whole episode just seemed an excuse to dress everyone weirdly and have some weird couples. There were a few little highlights but on the whole it was pretty disappointing.
The episode was better than I expected but it's still just an empty creative indulgence. - I liked the stories in this episode but, if the only lesson to be taken was that some things are meant to be, the episode is hollow filler just like I thought it would be. - April and Alex? I can see that happening. - This "alt" episode reminded me how glad I am that Grey's toned down Meredith's mommy issues. - Darker Cristina was pretty great and so was messed-up Lexie. - Shiny happy Alex made me nauseous. - No Teddy? No problem. - I'm not sure I got the point of Mark's cameo appearance. There probably wasn't one. - A big, fat "no thank you" to quiet apprehensive Bailey. I just can't deal with that.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
That was the lousiest hour of TV I've seen in years. And I'm a White Sox fan! Pardon me while I find a caustic household chemical to throw in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Kate Walsh this episode was Amazeballs!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved it! One of my favorite episodes! I so called Mark being the father of Addison's father and I'm so happy to be right! And I loved Geeky!Alex and then he cheated on Meredith and I was sad, but then he cried and Crying!Alex is good, so I was fine again.
ReplyDeleteOwen was so cheating with "this guy" Teddy. And really should tell his wife the truth because he could have hurt the kids. And how the hell did they end up so blonde?
Was I supposed to feel bad for Ellis?
It was OK!
ReplyDeleteIt was just okay for me....I knew that wasn't Derek's child....so to summarize.....no matter the "reality" everyone remains the same... except Lexie. Does anyone else think that Eric Dane (Mark) is a horrible actor??
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't have chemistry even with a periodic table.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe the "What if" was so radical that the specialties even changed! Callie as cardio? ReplyDeleteThat was worse than the musical episode
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, the little blonde kiddies freaked me out a little..
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it !!! I liked how Derek and Meredith managed to find their way back to each other at the end !
ReplyDeletederek kinda a jerk til the end at the bar - i'm just a guy in the bar and your just a girl in the bar drinking tequila. ReplyDeletei loved it :) every piece of it! it was awsome, it's funny how in the end, Meredith ends up in a bar with derek, and being friends with Cristina

ReplyDeleteExactly. I think it was a brilliant episode that was pulled off extremely well.
ReplyDeleteLoved the episode! The George and Izzie references were great, I liked how they played old songs as well. I wanted it to carry on and see what was going to happen with the characters.
ReplyDelete..and then she can leave Owen and realise her love for women all over again and Calzona will be once more.
ReplyDeleteThe blondies were soooo creepy.
It went so quickly! Total filler episode, but so much fun! I really liked it :D
ReplyDeleteCristina and Owen are meant to be? :o That was a shocker. I don't think they're a good fit.
Should have been a two parter or even three. Guess that's Fringe's effect on me. One epi of alt!u is not enough for me anymore...
ReplyDeleteBEST EPISODE EVER!!! i wish it was longer or at least hope they do a follow up episode!!! words dont describe how much i loved it!! everything was perfect. if that was a new show i would completely watch it!

ReplyDeleteWorst episode I ever saw. They are really running out of stories.
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice episode, but nothing more than that.
ReplyDeleteBut I have to said that there were good in making everything so odd and out pf place!
The episode was better than I expected but it's still just an empty creative indulgence.
ReplyDelete- I liked the stories in this episode but, if the only lesson to be taken was that some things are meant to be, the episode is hollow filler just like I thought it would be.
