so glad somebody is trying to talk some sense into Rachel and Finn. they don't need to be married now or even engaged. Shane has the worst timing ever and i can't wait till mercedes breaks up with him because we all know it will happen. I loved sam and mercedes songs and ricky martin is really hot, hopefully we'll see him again since he is the new spanish teacher. I am so ready for Sam/Mercedes to happen.
Thats why u have friends like Kurt and Mercedes tell these fools not to get married ya idiots!! Thank u Santanaa for standing up for ur culture and not allowing Will to make a mockery out of it. Um wtf Sue seriously a baby get the f outhere Good job NeNe i like the battle btwn her and Sue nice and equal playing field.
Will was a wonderful character in season 1. Since then, he went downhill, and this episode marks his lowest point. I think they should mark his exit in the season finale, and bring someone fresh and less pathetic.
Not the strongest episode musically, though I did enjoy Naya's duet with Ricky Martin. Music aside, I thought it had some redeeming qualities. It was nice seeing a bit of Sue's vulnerability, and I enjoyed her moments with both Emma and Becky - though for that baby's sake, I hope she's considering more names than she mentioned.. Sylvester Sylvester? Poor child. I also loved the scene between Finn and Kurt - I've loved watching their relationship progress since they became brothers, and it was nice that Kurt got through to him - it's easy to see Rachel as a star, but that doesn't mean he has to step back and let her shine alone. He's never been too confident, and it was important to see that Kurt believed in him.
I'm glad Emma's pamphlets finally got their due - I've thought they were hilarious throughout the entire show, and now they got their own little subplot haha.. also, Will's Spanish translations were hilarious.. McKinley must not have been looking too hard for a good Spanish teacher - he was awful! And now he's headed for the History department? How did he get a degree in the first place?
I've been lamenting his descent for a while now, but I'm hoping that this episode was rock bottom for him. Now that he's realized some hard truths about himself, he might be able to work his way back up to who he was when the show started.
Well, you see, his awful teaching methods aren't the only weak point about him.
He asked Finn to be his best man, because Finn taught him what it's like to be a man. REALLY?! Finn is still maturing, plus.. He's your student! He called the glee club his "family," ignoring the fact that he has parents and a girlfriend.. His constant need to have a "lesson," and how he is so dependant on his students. I mean, you need THEM to help YOU propose?I understand this is all to show how a glee club can unite people, but the most a teacher should do is invite his students to his/her home, which he did at the end of season 1. Dancing with them and involving them in your personal life is too much.
Maybe music education? They just don't seem to have an actual program for it at McKinley.. or if they do have a choir, maybe the position had been filled.
lol yeah but the show focus on the glee club. If they wanna show the wedding it has to involve the glee club a lot. They cant bring in new poeple we wont care. So yeah you put it in reality it doesnt make sense but in makes sense in this universe.
AHA in Canada you can teach any subjet that you were a substitute for 5 years. (like not 5 years in a row just randomly substitued classes for at least 5 years) so you can teach anything in high school haha. And I know you dont need a degree to teach spanish, they'll ask you if you can speak it, and thats it cause you are cheaper than the ones with a degree.
This episode was quite shocking to me. I mean, a spanish teacher who doesn't speak spanish? I mean, the fact that a teacher takes classes again to refresh certain things is one thing, but a spanish teacher who has to go to spanish class because he actually can't really speak spanish? That's their idea for a good story? Seriously? I was shocked, to be honest. Absolutely shocked. Even the idea seems absurd.
And is it really this easy to get into a teaching job? "I like history, at least the documentaries they always show on TV, so I'll try that now" ... I know that a lot of stuff in Glee wouldn't happen in real life, but they usually always make sure that it doesn't seem serious. Will, though, has always been one of the serious characters. And he used to be a good spanish teacher, if I remember season 1 correctly.
I liked the storylines for all of the others that episode, but I'm still too shocked about that part of the plot to comment on the rest. I hope they won't get further into this. It's the most horrible storyline I could think of (well, no, but I'm trying to make a point here).
Fave performance: Santana and ... the teacher whose name I forgot *g* I loved the performance, though, seriously. I also loved the remixed and more modern version of the song.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

The question is, what did he get a degree in? It wasn't Spanish.. It probably wasn't history..

ReplyDeleteNo so great episode... I save only a couple of scenes and songs.
ReplyDeleteRicky Martin was a highlight but the rest was kinda boring...plus Will was totally unbearable.

There were only three worthwhile parts to this episode:
ReplyDelete1.) Emma's pamphlets.
2.) Kurt's talk with Finn.
3.) Roz's hilarious verbal smackdown on Sue.
