LOVED LOVED LOVED this episode. The music was amazing, the story was good, and i totally had to try to hold back tons of tears. As hot as Sebastian, he is a total ass and needs to be taken down
Gave it a great. Definitely the best of all the tribute eps as we at least got forward movement on a lot of the storylines and awesome performances to boot. Still, it felt like they were trying to jam as much stuff into the ep that for me the flow felt like overload at times and it did get preachy a bit. Still, a very entertaining ep. One thing that I noticed, where was Sugar? I assume that she's in the club from future ep pics, but I guess that they were trying to save money I guess... lol
I'm actually liking the douche that is Sebastian, he brings something awesome to the show, and gives Santana someone to terrific to play off of. I enjoyed this episode and can't wait for the next one.
I still believe that the Madonna tribute episode is one of the best Glee episodes. "Michael", though, is absolutely a better tribute episode than "Rocky Horror Glee Show" or "Rumors."
Oh, Glee, where were you last season? This episode had a terrific use of the songs, a great advancement in plot lines, character developments, and of course, fun choreography.
One thing I wish they'd go back to is the subtle transitions between normally talking and suddenly breaking into a song-and-dance number. Season 1 mastered it beautifully, but since then, it's been awkward at times. I think the transition to "Scream" was perfect, but the reasonings behind "Smooth Criminal" and "Wanna Be Starting Somethin'" were pretty awkward. I love it when it's either a subtle performance that showcases the feelings of a character ("Never Can Say Goodbye"), is an obvious performance ("Black or White") or just a replacement for a dialogue ("Bad").
Much better than previous homage episodes. Thoroughly enjoyable and great characterization and plot movement all around, and I think I might have even seen Tina, but I'm not sure.
Finally their are making something useful with Grant, he just needs a mustache to twirl. I'm kinda on the fence with Blaine still, he is still pretty much a non entity as always, zero action, just reaction, but his dynamic with Sebastian is very promising, I'd really like them to adress that further, how Blaine can be such a bad judge of character, does he has a crush on Sebastian? will it continue despise the damage he caused? Regardless, even if he starts to hate Sebastard, I'd really love they acknowledage what led him to trust him so blindly. The prospect of character development for Blaine makes me dizzy with anticipation!!!
Great Rachel plot, that sudden realization that she didn't even thought about Finn was a bucket of cold water, and sad, she had made her mind. Santana is just awesome all around, best character this season for me, highly dynamic and threading the drama and the comedy. The writers really love her.
Samcedes keeps moving, it's cute.
Solid episode, cohesive despise the shoehorning of songs every 3 minutes (the numbers were good, though) And even if it was the power of love that brought the Warblers back into the light, it was nice. A bit sacchariney, but nice.
As a side point, the Warblers could just have kicked Sebastian out, cause his voice isn't really that great, very meh-ish.
Overall, Glee passed this guilt from "guilty pleasure" to "actually pretty good" and I don't even like Michael Jackson. Just as Rachel, I just don't get him :D
HAhha When Sebastian sushied Santana I scream OH MY GOD and blocked the sound with my hand aahah I dont know if I was more shocked my my reaction or by the slushie ahahha. tsktsktsk My friends are gonna watch it with me next week to laugh at me :D
I didn't really know what I was getting in by watching this episode and I'm glad to say that overall I enjoyed it-- the performances esp. Smooth Criminal were fantastic!
I was kind of wary going into this episode, not knowing what to think - but I think they did a fantastic job. The songs were all great, except maybe for the slight strangeness of Ben, and the dancing in the opening sequence was fabulous and so much fun to watch. I absolutely loved the rumble in the streets with Bad, and the cellos gave me chills during Smooth Criminal.
Music aside, the plot had some good movement as well. I'm glad to see that they had Quinn be a voice of reason in the Rachel/Finn situation - it's all well and good to dream that you can have it all, but I'm glad they're at least making her realize that everything might not work out like she wants it to. Mercedes and Sam are going to have some interesting development over the next few episodes, and Sebastian really needs to go. He took it a step too far this time, and he proved just how much of a jerk he really is at the end.
All things considered, I think this was a great episode. I think my only "yikes" moment was the weird sequence during Black or White when their faces kept morphing into one another :/
I think Rachel's face at the end might have had more to do with her thinking "oh crap, what now?" I'm thinking she accepted Finn's proposal because she'd given up on New York, so since her biggest dreams weren't coming true, he'd be her happy ending. Now that she's a finalist, and things are becoming more real again, I think she's worried about how he's going to fit in on her way to the top.
Loved Sebastian--have since he first showed up--but the Michael Jackson music...Well, I know he's become some kind of saint since his death, but the guy wasn't all that, really.
Yeah yeah! That's what I meant with she didn't even thought of Finn, It was all "NY and Kurt and musicals and fame and happiness!!! and the it was "what about Finn??" that reminded her that she accepted to marry him, and the obvious question of how does it fits together.
I really like that plot point, how will she sort it out? Will they make it or everything will collapse under its weight? Being a non shipper I think it allows me to enjoy Glee more :D
I dont know I kinda like her most of the time when he insult are funny or like out of the blue ahha but I hate how the fandom and the other person on the show reacts to her.
Like if some else is mean its the DEVIL OHOHO when she is mean to everyone :S Or britany telling Finn he is a bully when she's dating santana i dont know its just anoying. It's like the writers are telling us its okay to act like that cause its just how she is. I got a friend like that (NOT that much of a bitch though ahah) and lately she's been loosing everyone cause she treats her friends like crap. :S yeah...
I like that they're making it REAL. They could have easily glossed over it, making it into a story of how high school sweethearts really can make it through anything and everything and have a fairy tale ending. I loved the conversation that Quinn had with Rachel, forcing her to realize that she's going to be stepping into an entirely different world, and she has to consider that love might not be enough.
That being said, I'm rooting for the two crazy kids.. I think they're adorable, and he's been good for her - she's not nearly as annoying and self-absorbed as she used to be haha
Right! I really liked Quinn's input. It's not about being right or wrong, but about the possible scenarios. Quinn told Rachel what she believed.
Can they make it work? can love triumph over the obstacles or sometimes one has just to move on? No matter if they stick together or not, I want to see it explored believably, this is the ONLY romantic plot in Glee that makes sense and is filled with character development. A contrast with the other, cheaper, romantic plots, in my opinion. Finchel has high stakes, and all the development in three seasons does makes me care about them, even if neither is my favorite character.
Stay together or grow apart, I want mostly that it pays up. Either scenario I will accept if it is done nicely.
Not going to lie i was definitely entertained!!!! They def honored boy pretty damn well. Highlights- Smooth Criminal, Human Nature, Scream!!!!! Definitely enjoyed Quinn moment to Rachel to bad Rachel didn't listen. Loved they incorporated the videos of MJ so awesome down to scream and even to the morphing for Black or White. Wow Mercedes and Sam are so flippin adorable!!!! Santana and Sebastian while the chelos OMG sick!!!!!!
I thought it was a decent episode up until they got Sebastian's confession on tape and didn't take it to the authorities. It's not payback. Sebastian didn't play some prank on Blaine. That jackass committed an assault. Going to the cops was the right thing to do and they decide to sing instead!? That's just ridiculously stupid.
Side note: Santana was, head and shoulders, the best thing about this episode. Everything she did was fantastic.
oh Bruce we all ways mind melt def agree with u New Directions definitely chickened out that one. But maybe it was bc Sebastian father is a state attorney and would probably do some back handed trick to get the charge dropped or dismissed just saying.
But definitely LOVED Santana this episode!!!!!!!!!
I don't know... i feel like she's being mean as a façade, she had had a lot of scenes where we can see how she suffers... so I think that's why I don't hate her for being like t hat... :/ I understand what you say, but... I don't know, I'm not able to hate her :P
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Wow, Sebastian needs to go. What the hell is wrong with him?
ReplyDeleteAnd this won't end well between Finn and Rachel.
Burt Hummel continues to remain the best father ever.
There is NO WORDS to discribe how much I LOVED this episode. I even forgot about the warbler scene that got cut AND THATS SAYING SOMETHING!
ReplyDeleteSeriously you guys, I think watching me watching this episode would have been a good show HAHHA I went crawzy
yep. LOVED IT. I JUST LOVE THIS SEASON SOOOO MUCH! Every day should be micheal day and have smooth criminal with the 2cellos

ReplyDeleteRyan Murphy, PLEASE get rid of Sebastian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVED LOVED LOVED this episode. The music was amazing, the story was good, and i totally had to try to hold back tons of tears. As hot as Sebastian, he is a total ass and needs to be taken down

That was just....awful. Seriously I don't think I've ever heard Michael Jackson performed so badly. It was embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteI really love the epi.
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say this I HATE SEBASTIAN SMYTHE!!
Why can't he just live Klaine alone!
I know what you mean. I was going crazy myself the whole time. haha

Oh, and also. I smiled devilishly thinking about the Quick fans that thought that scene was for realz, ho ho ho!

ReplyDeleteI voted OK, as some performance was poor and I don't think the story fitted very well with the Micheal Jackson theme
ReplyDeleteI didn't really know what I was getting in by watching this episode and I'm glad to say that overall I enjoyed it-- the performances esp. Smooth Criminal were fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI only liked the duo between Santana and Sebastian, so to my mind the episode was only OK
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the finchel duet. i think it's good that she said yes, because we got the funny last scene in exchange

ReplyDeletehow he dares to slushie Santana??? OMG i hate him so much!!! x< XDDDD
ReplyDeleteGreat ep for me!!
ReplyDeleteHAHA She's probably the caracter who deserves it the most but i just really didnt see it coming aahah, it was all slowmo in my head ahha
ReplyDeleteYeah yeah! That's what I meant with she didn't even thought of Finn, It was all "NY and Kurt and musicals and fame and happiness!!! and the it was "what about Finn??" that reminded her that she accepted to marry him, and the obvious question of how does it fits together.
