AMAZING!!!!!! People will whine about the lack of progress in Caskett but come on! We go an amazing case that was full of twists, turns and tons of surprises and a MAJOR reveal about Castle's father! What's not to love?
The bullets per minute rate in this episode had to double that of all other episodes this season. I'm good with that. Jennifer Beals told Beckett not to sleep with Castle. I'm good with that. The case tried to get me to believe that a 10 year old girl would cause WW3 and collapse America. That might be stretching things a bit. Overall good episode, lots of fun, but far too little Esposito and Ryan.
The Castle dad reveal was the most shocking thing of the night. I hope we get a good conversation between Castle and Martha, mostly because I think she needs more time on screen.
So true. I love how the episode had a Scully and Mulder dynamic - Castle believing the wild theories and Beckett playing the skeptic the whole time and just knowing they saved a little girl.
The case tried to get to believe that a 10 year old girl with a highly influential father would cause WW3.
Look at WW1, one archduke dies and *bam*, all the little tensions around the world go crazy. Just look at our world today and at the political and diplomatic scene, one bad move and it all falls apart. It's a pessimist view, while I try to be optimistic but also realistic.
And now about the episode, it gave a good momentum with setting things up for Castle father and for Becket to think if she wants to pursue Castle or if she is going to get cold feet because of what Sophia told her.
Nice twist about Castle's father!! I didn't see it coming at all! I also have to admit that Sophia being a russian mule was also a surprise for me. Even before she framed that other guy I was thinking it was him! Awesome!
Fantastic. This one kept me guessing all through, and had so many wonderful character moments - not to mention intriguing teases, like the reference to Castle's dad!
I loved it especially the end people thought this was a step back to me it was a step forward Kate said it herself Sofia told a lot of lies and the doubt i also think the shoulder bump was put in there by stana herself
I had my doubts about her when she came at Castle's house, so I wasn't too surprise at the end either^^;; At least the little thing about Castle caught me off guard 0_O
As much as I love Castle, this year's two-pater was just awful. Too many cliches, plotholes and things that were simply ludicrous. I'd prefer to have watched two regular episodes instead of Pandora and Linchpin, which were a pile-up of all things I dislike in Castle. Even the storyline involving Rick's father, one that I've waited for with excitement, was introduced so awkwardly that it was a disappointment.
Great episode. Really intriguing. But I agree. That was a predictable route for the episode to go. But Jennifer Beals sure does age well. She is stunning!
They didn't disappoint last night! Twists and turns all over the place.. just when you thought you had it figured out, something else popped up. It amazes me how many tools the CIA has at its disposal, and this episode really makes you wonder exactly how much goes on behind the scenes that we have no idea about, too! And the reveal about Castle's dad? Wow.. loved it!
do you think this season's finale could be about Castle's dad rather than Beckett's mom?
I think, with this episode, they have masterfully inserted a new recurring element like Beckett's mom's conspiracy... That part about the father was not about the story of the episode so much as a set up to future episodes.
I certainly hope so. The story behind Beckett's mom has been so nonexistent that for me it is officially stalled. They either need to gain momentum quickly or give it up completely. This limbo isn't doing it any favors as an overarching plot line.
Killing the archduke was like killing anyone who runs a country. That I believe can cause a war. Killing a ten year old is a far bigger stretch for me.
I loved lots and lots of the little bits, bit overall it didn't hang together as well as other major storylines have, and some parts (like Alexis or the post-car-crash talk) were underplayed. I think S4 is my favourite season (so far!!!), but its been up and down: either mind-blowingly awesomeness or middling filler.
I thought it was great. I'm slightly gutted that Jennifer Beals turned out to be the baddie although I could see it coming. I really hope that her conversation with Beckett wasn't another obstacle to Beckett and Castle getting together - I've had enough of that. Hopefully Beckett will take note of her own comment that Sophia told a lot of lies. The twist about Castle's dad was kinda shocking - although it definitely explains how he managed to shadow a CIA officer. Also loved the little scenes with Espo and Ryan - too little of them though.
Great eppy!!! What I loved most about it was the twists. Usually I find the mysteries fairly predictable, but this was one of the few rare occasions where I was honestly surprised.
The things Sophia said to Beckett concerning resolving the sexual tension, actually, make sense. Castle and Beckett should not get together, at least not in this season. The sexual tension must be preserved no matter the cost. For such procedural dramas sexual tension means everything. It's the engine and the fuel of the whole show. Resolve the tension and you'll get another boring drama "about case solving". Castle and Beckett will still be there, but their "romantic journey" will be over.
It was okay. - There was a lot more talking and exposition and a lot less action than I expected. - Everyone at the docks, including Alexis, seemed way too okay with Castle and Beckett just surviving a murder attempt. - So Castle's dad was either in the CIA or had enough juice to pull strings to get him to shadow an operative. Interesting. - I'm disappointed that Castle couldn't get it together in order to help stop the assassination and just sat there beside Sophia's body instead. - Esposito's constant attempts to get info on Castle & Beckett's case was funny. - I'm glad Beckett saw through Sophia's phony reminiscing about Castle. - In the end, I think last year's sweeps two-parter was better.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
FREAKING PERFEEEECT !!
ReplyDeleteSo freaking Awesome. It was perfect. :)

ReplyDeleteWho vote poor?! Are you fricking blind?!
ReplyDeleteFantastic except for the "wish we hadn't slept together" crap. When has sex ever been a bad thing?!
ReplyDeleteWell Kate Did say that Sophia had lied about some things :)
DeleteAnd so stoked for Castle dad possibly being CIA. I'm sure that's Castle's wish come true -- that or his father being Christopher Walken.

ReplyDeleteI did like how Ryan teased Espo about knowing the secret.

oh yeah! I wanna see if we get some kind of follow up this year. Hard to believe that we only have 7 episodes left this year.
ReplyDeleteNice twist about Castle's father!! I didn't see it coming at all! I also have to admit that Sophia being a russian mule was also a surprise for me. Even before she framed that other guy I was thinking it was him! Awesome!

ReplyDeleteit was awesome.. but made it look like their are going to delay beckett and castle love more.. :/

ReplyDeleteEnjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.
ReplyDeleteAs Stana says Awesomesauce!
ReplyDeleteLoved it, even though i could tell that Sophia was the mole about half way through the episode!
ReplyDeleteGreat episode, i would however have loved seeing Castle give Kate CPR
ReplyDeleteIf there was a button above awesome, i would've picked that!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved it especially the end people thought this was a step back to me it was a step forward Kate said it herself Sofia told a lot of lies and the doubt i also think the shoulder bump was put in there by stana herself
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing! I didn't expect the Sophia twist, but I loved it. And whoa at the potential reveal about Castle's father!
ReplyDeletethe end totally unexpected, russian spy,wow fantastic.

ReplyDeleteyou need to add something more than awesome for Castle season 4... SERIOUSLY!

ReplyDeleteThat was one of my favorite moments. For me Castle is all about the little scenes, small looks, and blink and you miss them one-liners.
