Awesome ep for me. Typically grim and emo, but with lots of good humor bits (Aiden "sneezing" when Sally surprised him, singing when the other nurse walked into the room when he was talking to Sally, and Josh telling sally that she recently hung out with some "teenage wasteland ghosts" - all good stuff) Was very surprised that Aiden killed Connor, but loved it. Bummed that Nora is on the 24/7 wolf binge, and thought that the intro of the Reaper who is intrigued with Sally was a sad plot as she essentially didn't get to say goodbye to her new family (yet we all know that she wont be going anywhere) Can't wait for next week.
You were really surprised by Aidan's action, I felt it was eventually going to happen and we show it happen in this episode, which i didn't expect as soon.
So, does that mean that Nora is gone for good? I'm not totally sorry, though I did like the direction they took her character. Glad the twins were gone. They were obnoxious. I suddenly realized though...that brother twin would always mouth off and get an aggressive reaction out of Joss or Adian, and Brynn would jump between them.
I still hate hate hate hate hate their werewolf design...and in this ep it looked like low end CGI more than it has in any prior ep.
I liked the Reaper. He doesn't worry me because I have no concern about Sally leaving the show, but I liked the guy.
did not realise that non-purebreeds turn into humans when they die and pure ones into wolf that's awesome detail. And why do you hate the werewolf design? I actually really like that they are not doing the True Blood/Vampire Diaries kind of thing where they just use regular wolves it's really getting boring, it looks better YES (because they are real and all) but still, it's kinda lazy in my opinion. Even tho i prefer van helsing kind of werewolves (best thing about the movie besides Kate Beckinsales hawtness) i am glad the showrunners were balsy enough to use cgi and have their own design. Anyway, loved the ep, my favourite this season for sure.
This is my favorite ep so far, just keeps getting better and better. I am not an Aidan fan, but he was great in this one, so glad he got rid of at least one of the twins. Missed Henry, but loved the Reaper. The ep was exciting from start to end and my only comment after was WOW.
Last year I liked the UK version better but dang this show is going off on its own storyline and it is much better. Just PLEASE use Henry more.
Just when I think this show can't get any better it does. This episode was awesome. I loved it when Aidan shot Connor, he should have shot his sister as well. And Nora is starting to get on my nerves, seeing all self loathing and stuff is not attractive. Josh needs to dump her. The only thing I don't like so far about the season is the Sally storyline, it just seems like she is going through her stuff all by herself and when she does fill Josh and Aidan in on her issues its like they dont care. I have a feeling that the next few episodes is going to be around an epic Vampire battle, cause of what Nora/Josh has done and Aidan will be really conflicted on how to handle that. I have a feeling that Sally is going to go away and not in a good way. The reaper thing is going to get interesting for her. I am excited to see what is to come.
wow!! what an amazing episode!!, I guess this phrase it's getting old coming from me, but I can't say anything different, this episode had everything!!, the friends together, the action, the drama, the fun... FANTASTIC!!, I loved how Aidan again tried to help Sally and all the ridiculous things he had to do, for people not to notice he was talking to the air, how finally he confronted Josh for the way his being acting as friend, then the wolves my God!!, a lot of people, me included were saying that Cecile having so much power already was ridiculous, well, she didn't have it. I loved finally watching how good Aidan is, I never really got that, but now that he fought the wolves and kill the brother I see what they were talking about, by the way, I think the special effect of the wolf turning and getting carried by Aidan was really good, I guess it was a doll or something, but it looked very real, and Nora, I don't think she's gone for good, I just think she's going to be more an enemy than a friend from now on, and Sally, I would love she was the one that had "killed" Danny (I hope for good this time), but well the reaper did it at least, I have no idea how they're going to solve her part, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be something cool.
"did not realise that non-purebreeds turn into humans when they die and pure ones into wolf that's awesome detail!" Hmm, now you have me wondering if I"m just going on general werewolf mythology and the UK version fo the show. I suddenly can't remember if we've seen a werewolf die on this show. I *think* we have but I'm doubting my memory now.
I've got no *real* problem with the use of CGI per se. (I wish Game of Thrones had gone CGI because I kept having trouble with the scale of those direwolves.) I don't like the design. They're not wolf-like enough. The heads are shaped wrong, there's no fur.
For some reason, I think that Suren, Mother or one of the others might have pulled some strings or something so the hospital so they would lock the blood-bags down, making Aiden go back to drinking live... Random, off-the-wall idea... but I thought that maybe Suren (who clearly has a thing for Aiden, and he clearly has a thing for her...IMO...), so maybe after he refused to turn the cop woman, maybe she wanted Aiden back to how he used to be...
All I know for sure is I loved the sizzle between Aiden and Suren, so I hope they continue that...
I did not mind the wolves from last night, but do prefer the real ones from TVD & TB, and the ones from Twilight are a joke, very bad CGI, big as a horse. To me it is lazy to use the CG, much less trouble that working with real animals.
I thought this was one of the best episodes of the season, but honestly it still felt like there was something off.
I liked that the dynamic was there a bit more in this episode.
I loved it when Brynn hugged Nora. I thought that was so cute. Honestly, I'm glad the two of them went off together and hope they stay sisters. I also liked how Nora held Brynn at the end. I like their friend/sisterbondship.
I thought it was good Josh and Nora broke up, I really really liked the way that Nora's character progressed. I thought it was really interesting, and new. I hope that they don't cheapen it by having Nora change her mind and come crawling back or something. I really don't like Nora for Josh anymore. I just don't think they're quite right for each other. I think Josh needs a girl who is a little bit weirder and more awkward like he is.
Danny and Sally were horribly anti climatic. This kind of irked me. Danny was a major villain last season. He was very well developed. I really wanted more from the Danny Sally showdown. It was over so fast, and it wasn't even Sally that saved herself. It would have been much more powerful if Sally finally conquered Danny in the very end, instead of some Reaper guy popping up and ending it in seconds. I mean, she didn't even really save herself from Danny in the last season either. Aiden and Josh threatened him. It was just....really disappointing that the writers brought such a big player back for such a tiny thing. They really missed out on a great opportunity.
I found the werewolf hunt anti climatic too. It had such an awesomely promising beginning when Connor said the rules and then all four of them changed, but after that, it just didn't deliver for me. I really wanted more. The werewolves were slow and conveniently chose to stop right before they were about to eat him. Aiden had a knife but never had to use it because the werewolves never even went after him really. He didn't even have to really run all that fast. Aiden could have at least used his super vampire run like in the beginning of the second half of the pilot. It was just disappointing.
Sally and the Reaper were kind of interesting putting aside the Danny thing. I'm excited to see how that pans out. Though the whole cemetery thing where the Reaper was like "You're so special" and all, was really cheesy and kind of gagworthy. I mean, Sally keeps saying that she did this super noble thing by giving up her door, but honestly, it wasn't that noble because she didn't know she'd done it until it was too late. She thought her door would still be there when she got back. She didn't know she was sacrificing everything until she'd already sacrificed it, so it wasn't really like she'd chosen to sacrifice her door for Aiden's life. It just happened. And she didn't really even help Aiden. She just kind of sat at his bedside and looked depressed. How heroic.
Aiden killing Connor was great. But I was a bit disappointed with Connor's stupidity. I mean, what did Connor think would happen? He's a wolf once a month. Aiden can kill him all 30 other days. Connor and Brynn should have been booking it for safety.
I loved that Connor turned into a wolf when he died. That was awesome.
I like it much better when they use real animals too. I just really like my werewolves to actually look like wolves.
On this show, if they had more fur, and their paws and tails didn't look so...awkward, and they weren't well....emancipated....I'd like them much more.
I'm hoping they make Henry the next big bad, personally. I'd like to see him PWN Aiden and totally take over Boston with the orphans. And get lots of screentime... ;3
Hi Janae Roberts If you ever find any promos/sneak peeks that we have not posted here. Please feel free to use the "Submit Scoop" link in the menu to send it over to us so that we can post on the site.
I am addicted to the show, I am always eager for the next episode to see what is going to happen, it is usually kind of surprising, like Aiden shooting the male pure blood at the end of the ep. It was a shock, since I thought he'd do it earlier and when he didnt, I just figured, NOT this ep, then BANG!
I rewatched the ep and noticed that. It made me feel a little bit better.
I like the Reaper character too. I wish they'd had him pop up and distract Danny enough that Sally could dissipate him with the iron. Then Sally could have her nice chat with the hot death worker, and the Danny showdown could still actually be a showdown someday.
I never got that impression. I think that if they could turn at will, they wouldn't have bothered trying to help Josh find a cure. Then they could just be wolves all of the time by their own selves. They seemed kind of reverse cursed to be humans when they didn't want to.
Oh! Okay. I figured that you all knew about them, and were just busy since this is such a giant site, and I didn't want to be a nag or something. I'll be sure to submit scoop next time.
See, I prefer CGI just because I don't like real animals being subjected to the stress and potential harm involved in entertainment. Most of the time it's fine, and there are regulations in place meant to protect them, but accidents happen and sometimes they're abused. It can also be psychologically stressful on them. I'd rather have bad special effects than run the risk of animals being harmed.
The animals are treated MUCH better than the humans, you did notice my user name..correct? I raise and release orphan squirrels, am always on the animals side. You should see the raccoons that come every night for a handout, they have me well trained. lol
Sorry, I should clarify so it's not taken wrong - I meant "hardly" in my previous comment as in "the animals are hardly treated better" not "you are hardly on their side" or something else. I just realized it sort of sounds snarky and rude and that was NOT my intention - I simply meant to express that I do not agree with your assessment that entertainment animals are well-treated as a whole. Sorry if it came across wrong initially.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI have not watched it a 2nd time yet, but I thought Aidan cut Nora with the silver knife. After she turned back she had the cut on her shoulder.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on Sally and Danny, would have loved to see her take him out, but I do LOVE the Reaper.
Again, I thought the twins could turn at will and did not have to be a full moon.
I did not like Sam in Smallville either, so getting Kyle way more screen time would be awesome. I loved my Blood Ties Henry.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to the show, I am always eager for the next episode to see what is going to happen, it is usually kind of surprising, like Aiden shooting the male pure blood at the end of the ep. ReplyDeleteNo not snarky at all, it is good you care about the animals.
ReplyDeleteThat was so awesome when Aidan shot Connor and how he transformed, that wolf doll or whatever it was, was so realistic.
ReplyDeleteThe reaper was a plus, and I'm betting Danny died while he was being hammered from behind, lol. I guess it was done too hard, lol.
