Really didn't think I was going to like this series without Aidan Turner as John Mitchell, wasn't even going to bother but as a die hard fan I had to give it a chance. I have to say I've absolutely loved it and quickly got to love the new characters, that's not to say I don't want Mitchell back but in the mean time, these will more than do!
I always give a new show at least 3 episodes to get me interested and I know this isn't exactly a new show but losing 3 of the 4 main characters it might as well be new. I really hoped it would be good but I just do not care about these new characters at all. The baby story line would be interesting if George and Nina were still around but since there not it doesn't interest me at all. I guess i'll just stick with the american version and hopefully it won't jump the shark like this one has.
This is probably one of my favourite episodes ever to be honest, absolutely adore Tom and Hal's scenes, they are just so good on screen together. Annie's sex scene was also hilarious, was giggling my head off throughout.
The change in cast has been fantastic for the show imo, really given it a boost after last years angsty story lines and stupid relationships (really *hated* the Annie/Mitchell thing!!).
I'm really liking Hal. He and Tom are hysterical together. I loved the look on Hal's face when he realized Tom wasn't joking about his attitude toward his virginity. Hal is an old one that has some interesting potential.
The 'Be Careful What You Ask For' scene was also pretty funny.
The baby storyline isn't grabbing me. The grown up baby coming back to kill herself as an infant....is the weakest element for me, but I do find that, in general I'm enjoying the ep. Still not happy about wuss Annie. Feels like the character took a step backward from the end of last season.
I am going to watch this ep again, but so far was not impressed. Even though I NEVER cared for Nina I like Tom even less. I will stay with it a few eps, and hope it grows on me, I liked UK version so much better than US last year, but will have to see where it goes, but this early, not looking good for me.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteHal and Tom's chat up attempts were hilariously awful. Was glad to see Annie finally channel her inner Buffy.
ReplyDeleteHilarious episode, Hal and Tom are just so awkward. Loved the references to Ivan and Daisy and the Real Hustle!
ReplyDeleteHaha yes, it ain't Being Human without a Real Hustle mention XD
