There’s no way to sugarcoat this, House fans: Huddy is history.
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that Lisa Edelstein will not be checking back into House before the show ends its run on May 21, dashing any remaining hope there was for one final House/Cuddy reunion.

I figured she wouldn't. Jen Morrison probably won't either.
ReplyDeleteThat's really too bad. It would've been a good way to bring closure. Oh well, maybe this way it leaves the opening for future returns in spin-off or movie? *sigh*
ReplyDeleteOh god I'm scared to even look at the comments on the TVLine page the shipwars in House fandom are brutal
ReplyDeleteI can't say that I'm surprised.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure Morrison would be able to, given her rigorous OUAT schedule.
ReplyDeleteYup, that's what I was thinking.
ReplyDeleteDang... although in fairness, I think the House/Cuddy storyline ended the best way it could. The whole point of the final few episodes of season seven was to show that the woman who he connected to the most in life couldn't even save him from himself.
ReplyDeleteThe tragedy of Gregory House MD means that this is probably the best way to end things. Not gonna lie I'm a little saddened she won't return though.
I'm okay with this. I mean, it's sad the way it went down, but Lisa E burned some bridges over at FOX with her departure, and I'm sorta not surprised she's not coming back.
ReplyDeleteI was never a huge Cuddy fan but would have loved to see all the original cast and Thirteen there for the series finale but there's pretty much zero chance of Jennifer Morrison returning. Maybe Olivia Wilde will?
ReplyDeleteThere's my buzzkill for today.
ReplyDeleteI'm going by original assumption and sticking with my guess that he's going to either kill himself or Cuddy's going to kill him.. Since she's not going to be there, I'm guessing that it's going to be a long distance sniper in which the sniper IS Cuddy even though they'll never tell us, but I'm optimistic.
ReplyDeleteOh my God, I am so...this is so...oh, look, a butterfly
ReplyDeleteso disappointed, i was hopeful. :(
ReplyDeleteVery disappointed with this news I was hoping to see the cuddy before the end.
ReplyDeleteI kind of didn't want her to return, not because I hated Huddy, Cuddy, or Lisa Edelstein, but I wanted the shippers to be irritated. I also didn't want the finale to be about her, except I trust that David Shore would not have that.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame...would have been nice to see her again before the series ends.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear this. Never liked cuddy and was so afraid they would make the finale all about huddy. I hope it's true, and the last scene of the finale will not include her feet at his bathroom door again.
ReplyDeleteAfter the childish Season 7 ending I had hoped that House and Cuddy could at least have an intelligent discussion about his completely out of character act of criminal violence. Too bad.
ReplyDeleteI had no problem with Lisa E, Cuddy, Huddy whatever. Meaning I didnt hate her either. I was watching for the medical mystery and House's wierd sense of humor. Medical mystery start getting boring, but House's wit is still there which is why I still watch and damn neared cried when they said this was going to be the last season. But my question is, what is everyone's problem with Cuddy? Is it "Huddy"? That only lasted 15 episodes, so that would be petty if so. Unless you're a "Hameron(or whatever?)", but I dont know why you're even still around after mid way through s6. Hmmmmmmm. That's the only reason I could think of, cause otherwise she was rarely in the show if it wasn't strictly medical business. There are other small episode arcs but nothing big. I'm like really curious as to know why she was hated so much just as an outsider looking in.
ReplyDeleteBummer... not surprised, after everything that went down (backstage and on screen), but I was holding out *some* hope and I am sad it's not happening.
ReplyDeleteAnd it wasn't that I was expecting a happy ending, not in a million years, but some common ground, an apology, a formal goodbye... and now we'll never get that.
So going back to my opening statement: Bummer....
Personally, I'm fine with this. I didn't really have a problem with Huddy in theory, but in execution it was a train-wreck from the start. I'd much rather they have to create a new more innovative ending for House than rely on old habits.
ReplyDeleteGreat! The show is better without her.
ReplyDeleteSad that the show is going off air but it's probably for the best. Just interested to see how it all ends.
ReplyDeleteThats on my birthday .
