Yes i think so too! I have seen some new ads on tv for the show and they do not include her at all, so i know they don't have plans for her to become a regular.
They bring Lori on the show with the cool idea that she'll be some sort of oversight for the Lt. Governor. It could have been a good source of tension within the team or a good opportunity to make Lori's character someone with questionable loyalties. Despite the ample possibilities, they never ever mention the storyline again until now. It's a waste of a good plot and a completely serviceable character.
This isn't the only problem I have with the writers either. They bring Masi Oka on the show as a regular and they rarely use him, Chin Ho has been written very bland compared to his original counterpart, and almost everything written for Kono (and almost every other woman on this show) is terrible.
Unless your name is Steve or Danny, don't expect anything your character does to be interesting or memorable.
At first i didn't like her,but as time went on her sort of grew on me.It is so hard joining an established cast.It seems if you don't come out with your guns blasting the audience has a hard time excepting the "new" person. Then even then if you come off to strong they might not you for that...If that was the case and it seemed that way to me by most peoples reactions Lori was doomed from the beginning...Sorry.. :(
Let me just say this; should this mean the end of the Lori character then I am going to be pissed. 'Pissed' is an understatement. It'd mean that the writers gave in to all the hatred that has been thrown their way the last few months, re: Lori, and that'd disappoint me beyond belief. Just trying to figure out what the writers and producers are were thinking...
"Let's introduce a new character. Oh no wait, the louder (and mostly obnoxius) portion of our following doesn't seem to like her very much. Let's get rid of her. Problem solved."
This is such bullshit, I can't even deal with it, really.
This promo left me confused but I'm sure it will an amazing episode. And I'm not going to lie: if Lori leaves the show for good I will be really really happy, didn't like her character since the beginning.
I'm sorry you are upset. There were a lot of people who went too far for their reaction to this character. That made me cringe. But, most of the people who do not like the character, including myself, feel the character was poorly introduced, poorly written, and poorly acted. If that's what you mean by obnoxius then I guess thats your opinion. I respect that you like the character, I wish the Lori fans would do the same for those who do not. There weren't exactly halos on their heads either.
I wish for Lauren a role that better suits her, with writers and producers that understand her strengths and weaknesses. This could not have been easy for her.
She was never signed on for the duration, it was an addition that did not work out. I have seen characters and shows that I liked that no longer exists. Thats what happens. As Peter L said actors are professionals and understand the business. No matter what PL would have done someone was going to get upset. I think this was best for Lauren, but then thats my opinion.
Obnoxious as in constantly tweeting Lenkov how they wish they'd kill her off. Obnoxious as in starting a petition to get Lauren off the show. If you did not do either of these things, then no, I was not talking about you or all the other fans who stayed respectful in their dislike, re: Lori.
I don't like Joe, but you don't see me tweeting Lenkov every chance I get telling him how much he sucks for introducing him, and you don't see me starting online petitions to get Terry fired, right? That's the difference.
I agree totally at the personal attacks to Lauren. People became way too cruel. But, I don't think that was the majority of the people who just did not like the character who were actually doing that. I saw name calling from both sides, but it was not the majority on either side. A petition was ridiculous, I don't understand that at all. But as far as the tweeting, I have been following Lenkov's twitter for the last 3 months because its a great source of info on my favorite show. I have not seen one thing on the character Lori in that time. So neither one of us knows if that has happened or not, unless you know him personally, he only shows the ones he wants us to see. The more obnoxious comments, are the ones we remember, and makes it seem like more. This is not the first time this has happened, a character on Criminal Minds irritated a lot of people and was eventually written off. I'm sorry a character you liked is no longer there, we are both fans of the show, otherwise we would not be commenting at all. I wish you well and respect your opinion and your right to say it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This looks good,i wonder if this is the beginning of the end for Lori?
ReplyDeleteThis might be an actual end.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh, Steve!
Awesome!!!!! Thank you!!!!

ReplyDeleteThis might actually it for Lori, kind of sad, I liked her. But if someone has to go, it needs to be her.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very interesting and action packed episode. Can't wait to see Catherine again. I hope she will be in it more often.
Wonder if Lori is going. I kinda liked her - Wish they hadn't given in to the unwarranted hate from the fans.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like another great episode. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteI want to strangle Hawaii Five-0's writers.

ReplyDeleteLooks like the governor finally remembered why he put Lori on the team...only took him 15 episodes.

Yes, I'm not sure if he is the one on the gurney or not, all we see are mens shoes. I'm sure he will grab onto something. We will see on Monday.

I've been following the #H50 hashtag on Twitter for months. I've seen the shit some people tweet to Lenkov. It's nasty.
