A couple of small, but shiny gems from Winter-is-Coming today....

Full scoop: “Basically, John Snow goes out into the wilderness; my character ends up going back to see his family, and a lot of dragons basically happen in the second season. I loved working with Patrick Malahide, who played my dad, and Gemma Whelan, who played my sister.” But his favorite episode of the season? The same as co-star Emilia Clarke, episode 9. “Fighting. Killing. Killing and fire,” he says bluntly — and never have five simple words made me so excited.
Well with all this talk of more dragons and bigger dragons, I hope Pixomondo lives up to its reputation and does their duty making Dany's digital dragons undeniably dandy!

According to his blog GRRM spent six and a half hours doing interviews with HBO for the Season 2.

ReplyDeleteI suppose an hour or more of that interview could and probably is BD/DVD commentary for Episode 2.09 Blackwater! That would be awesome to have GRRM comment on his episode...
ReplyDeleteAdd in a 2 or 3 dozen supplemental videos for Season 2... some of which will need sound bites from GRRM if they follow the pattern of Season 1 videos. I would guess we will get some House Baratheon of Dragonstone character features, some on the Greyjoys, Maybe a House Tyrell featurette this year too.... I'm so looking forward to the supplemental videos this season!!!
Those really are five exciting words! I really look forward to see how they build up to this particular episode.
ReplyDeleteThe interviews with GRRM for season 1 were not all that interesting to me, because I hadn't read the books yet and I had 'enough' with what I'd seen on the screen. But now that I have, I'll take any and all insights I can get my hands on! :D
And Emilia Clarke is a brunette?!
ReplyDeleteA lot of GRRM's interviews were in a sort of verbal shorthand that readers of the books would understand, but just did not mean as much to non-readers.

ReplyDeleteAs for Daenerys, the more I read, the more I find her annoying. I wonder if Emilia's portrayal will be able to change it.
