i don't think the ending to LOST was that bad.. def. not what i expected or wanted but it was passable.. they kept the ending about the people and i know i wished the ending had been more about what the heck was the island.. LOL i think the Sopranos is a more appropriate example of a disappointing ending..
Aack! I hear that motorcycle guy's voice in my sleep. I'm not gonna buy a motorcycle. K? Anyway, my current rewatch is really helping. I've seen Observers pouring ridiculous amounts of spice on their sandwiches, then poor August tried to save a girl and was killed in the process, Brandon found pictures of Observers in major events in history, and somebody, I forget who, said that the Observers are dangerous. Maybe it will all come together for me on Friday.
I loved LOST but the ending literally made it to where I can never watch the show again. I bought the DVDs each season after they came out at full price might I add, and even bought season 6 as a pre-order deal before the series even ended. Well lets just say I watched season 6 extras and never again watched a single episode of the to this day. I even pawned the DVDs at $7.00 a season and was happy to get that for them since I had lost my job. Not a single tear shed over that show. Now don't get me wrong, while the show was going I loved ever minute, but after that terrible finale I couldn't look at it the same ever again. (I put it up there with learning the truth about Santa Claus when I was 6 years old.)
That ending did suck, but i have watched it again just not the ending...To this day i wonder why....I know what it felt like learning about Santa,i was crushed.I'm sorry that is how it made you feel.... :(
It does look amazing! i cannot wait for Friday.I was so psyched i kept thinking today was Thursday, when i finally realized it was only Wed. i was so bummed out....
Well I love Lost's Ending, because it wasn't the end of anything, just one cycle of many, and we got see a glimpse of what can now come for some of them.
After i wrote that i realized by not watching it again i would never understand. When i watched it i didn't have anyone to talk to about it.My husband watched but really wasn't into it,and my friends weren't into it.I didn't know about Spoiler,so whatever i grasped i got but i'm sure i missed a lot..Am few months ago i started season one again,i love the opening scene when Jack's eye opens..To this day whenever i watch that my stomach flutters with excitement, just like it did the first time i saw it.
It's not that I don't think it's a some what sad ending, but Alias and Lost both have "bitter sweet" endings...and endings that IMO don't have one definitive answer, and I think it makes sense because there isn't just one. For me not having some exceptionally specific point allows for continuity at least in the viewers mind, and to me that's better than feeling like there is nothing left at all. But of course not all LOST viewers interpret multiple timelines into the bigger picture as it is never stated, only implied (whatever happened, happend/people are variables, reference to loops, Hawking, ect)
Every time I watch the pilot I sob because I think about Jack laying there at 'the end'...but it's a good cry...:D
I checked out Noble intentions and gave some comments. I think the episode is going to be sad for at least 2 reasons...
Yep i already read and replied to it..I cry to whenever i see it,i also think of the last episode with Jack laying there.I felt such grief at the time, like i lost my friend,,that was pretty tough to go through...
aww, that makes we want to hug you ( the SC comparison) LOST was the first show i watched from start to finish in real time (not catching up later with dvd marathons) so it holds a special little place for me.
about Jack at the beginning and ending in the bamboo field: i was thinking about this days ago, then saw were Vincent was voted as one of TV's best pets and the pic they chose to use was him lying with a dying Jack and i felt the loss of a friend all over again ;(
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I hope Ausselio is right and we get a 15 episode final season next year! I'd be happy!
ReplyDeleteUntil then... this episode looks to be AMAZING!
That would be even more generous than NBC giving Chuck the gift of a shortened final season. They probably lost a ton of cash doing that.
ReplyDeleteJust looks amazing. I have no idea where this episode is going to take me but I cannot wait!!

seriously! no, i don't have what it takes to 'ride with the gunny' nor do i have the desire to find it.
ReplyDeletei do however LOVE this promo
The ones I love are the Axe deodorant commercials where everything gets chaotic but who cares because man is wearing Axe and he's irresistable.
ReplyDeleteIt did. When you pointed that out, I went back and looked.
