A&E’S HIT ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES ‘Breakout Kings’ RETURNS FOR ITS SECOND SEASON SUNDAY, MARCH 4 AT 10PM ET/PT
THIS SEASON, A KING WILL FALL
NEW YORK, NY, FEBRUARY 6, 2012 - A&E Network’s original scripted drama series, “Breakout Kings,” returns for an action-packed second season with ten all-new episodes, premiering on Sunday, March 4 at 10PM ET/PT. From Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora, writers/producers of the hit series “Prison Break,” “Breakout Kings” follows an unconventional partnership between the U.S. Marshals’ office and a group of convicts as they work to catch fugitives on the run.
In “Breakout Kings,” veteran U.S. Marshals Charlie Duchamp (Laz Alonso, Avatar, Fast and the Furious 4: Fast & Furious) and Ray Zancanelli (Domenick Lombardozzi, “The Wire,” “Entourage”) decide to reject protocol and take an unorthodox approach to their work: using former criminals to catch current ones. They form a special task force composed of the three most elusive convicts Ray ever captured: Lloyd Lowery (Jimmi Simpson, “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,”), a former child prodigy and behaviorist/psychiatric expert who excels in psychoanalysis; Shea Daniels (Malcolm Goodwin, American Gangster), an ex-gang banger who knows how to work the system, both in prison and on the street; and Erica Reed (Serinda Swan, Tron: Legacy, “Smallville”), a sexy expert tracker who learned her trade from her bounty hunter father. Charlie and Ray also employ the services of Julianne Simms (Brooke Nevin, “Worst Week”), a civilian who acts as the “funnel” for the group – all information, tips and data go through her.
In the season premiere, entitled “An Unjust Death,” the “Breakout Kings” are back on the job and in pursuit of Damien (guest-star Jason Behr, “Roswell”), a particularly ruthless and vicious serial killer. Lloyd was the doctor on the case that put Damien away eight years prior and the bad blood between them runs deep. In the midst of the investigation, the group learns that Charlie has been offered a promotion, leaving them uncertain about their future and the fate of the entire program. But as the pursuit of Damien intensifies, tragedy strikes and one of the Kings pays the ultimate price, forcing the remaining members of the close-knit team to cope with an unimaginable loss.
“Breakout Kings” premiered as the most-watched original drama series in A&E’s history among Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.
“Breakout Kings” is a production of Fox 21. The series is created, written and executive-produced by Matt Olmstead (“Prison Break”) and Nick Santora (“Prison Break”). Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) also serve as executive producers.

Just realized that chick was Zantanna from Smallville...I like the show when nothing else is on
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me how this was,and is it worth getting into?
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty fun show....
ReplyDeleteA nice entertaining fast pace, good humor and some fun characters. You might like it.
It would not be too hard to get into at the start of the season as long as you know the premise. You might miss a little back story here and there, but it is pretty much a strict procedural so it should be easy to pick up.
can't wait for the second season to start
ReplyDeleteThanks Darque,I don't know if i should be happy or sad about it? Ha,its good to know i can jump right in without waders on,but then again do i want another procedural show where i don't need active brain cells?....Thanks! :D
ReplyDeleteI have to give them props. If one of them indeed actually dies they've been keeping it under wraps pretty well, seeing as all 6 of them have been featured in pretty much all promotional material so far.
ReplyDeleteI'm having difficulty buying the idea that they'd actually kill off a regular cast member. I'll believe it when I see it.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing one of the actors wanted out? As long as it's not Lloyd or Jules, I'm ok with one of the others dying. My money is on Shea, even though just from the episode description I'm worried about Lloyd!
ReplyDeleteIf I were to make a guess, I think it's most likely Charlie that is killed off or leaves out of the regulars because they need the 3 cons for the show. And you don't really need TWO leaders. And I doubt they'd kill off Ray. And I think Jules is a unique character, plus she is only the second female on the show. So that pretty much leaves Charlie. So I'm going with that.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely the show to WATCH. It's fun and interesting and it's entertaining.
If you go on IMDB it looks like they have a new con (Ian Bohen as
ReplyDeletePete Gilles) for the upcoming episodes...If they kill off LLoyd I am
definitely not going to watch anymore...he was the only one that made that show watchable.
On IMDB Laz Alonso's credit for the show doesn't extend to 2012, while the other characters/ actors include credit for 2011 and 2012. Makes me think Charlie is out.
