God I can not wait for this show to premiere?
ReplyDelete- Both Awake and Lone Star deal with characters trying to juggle two lives. How much of the characters/storylines/ideas in awake inspired or cribbed from the plots they weren't able to get to from Lone Star?
- How serialized vs. procedural will the show be (like will there be a new police case in every single episode)?
- Whose decision was it to change the title from REM to Awake and what was the reason?
- In the pilot episode Michael says that he has no desire to try and "fix" having two realities if it means losing either his wife or his son. Is the show even interested in explaining or building a mythology for why there are alternate realities at any point, or is his prediciment supposed to be accepted by the audience without there ever being a scientific/mystical/sci-fi explanation (like the Island on Lost or the time travel on Day Break for example)? I don't really care either way because I love the show already, but I think it will help manage expectations and not agitate the potential audience if you could clarify this.
Thanks Brandon!
Will the ending of season one reveal the big mystery? or is it going to keep building up for future storylines in case there are more seasons?
ReplyDelete-Will we see recurring antagonists/criminals or are the cases on a strictly week-by-week basis excluding multi-part episodes?
ReplyDelete-Will the mythology potentially expand beyond Michael merely experiencing the dual-reality, or is that (and the bleeding of each reality into the other) the only planned inclusion of the fantastic in the show?
-Has the popular ending theory for the show (i.e., Michael being the one that is dead) reached the writers' ears (or has it been anticipated from the beginning), and if so, is that going to affect the story in any way?
-Do the writers have a specific season arc number that they believe would be ideal for the show (even if that number is just the minimum number of seasons they believe they need the show to run to tell their story), or is this a show that the writers could just work on forever and be content?
-Might there come a time in the show's life when we find out which reality is real that isn't the series finale?
-Since Michael appears to not be getting any sleep when he switches realities, will his gradually increasing fatigue from lack of sleep play a part in the series going forward, or is he actually getting that needed sleep via the false reality (if we assume the false reality is a dream world of sorts)?I guess that's all I've got for now. If I think of anything else, I'll post again. Thanks, Brandon!
I agree with Robert, I would like to know how Serialized they plan to make the show(I prefer serialized shows to procedural ones).
ReplyDeleteHow soon can viewers expect answers?
How do you plan to extend the show beyond a single season? Do you have plans for a season two(if the show were to get that far) as of yet? Should viewers expect closure of the major mysteries by the end of the first season, much like ABC's "Day Break" was able to wrap up?
What are your feelings on the Thursday at 10 timeslot for "Awake"?
This one is going to sound strange, but why in the world did NBC remove the terrific song "To Build a House" by The Cinematic Orchestra from the trailer of the show? EVERYONE complained about that, including myself. How complicated do you plan for the mythology of the show to become? That's all I can think of for now, but if I think of any more, I will let you know! Thanks, Brandon!
It appears the questions i have were asked..So let me ask you. Will your interview appear as a post or podcast? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure this was asked, does he have season 2 and 3 worked out,or at least ideas for those seasons, assuming there are season 2 and 3........
I've got one new question:
ReplyDelete-How does time operate within the two realities respective to Michael? When Michael leaves one reality, does time freeze in that reality until he gets back, or does time keep flowing normally in that reality (meaning that if he left one reality in the morning, spent 12 hours in the other reality, and then returned to the first reality, it would then be nighttime)?
Apologies for the difficulty communicating that question... And like laura, I'd also like to ask you, Brandon, if we're going to hear the results in a post, podcast, or some other form. Thanks again!
Really good question, I think that the show has him going to bed in the evening in both realities(as shown at the beginning, he normally wakes up in the morning). It would seem that with that, evening in one reality would be morning time in the other reality. Really good question....
ReplyDeleteMost likely a post of a transcript. I'm going to see if I can get a recording of it though as well.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Just let us know...
ReplyDeleteHave a good time, and have some fun! :)
What ever happened to this, if you don't mind me asking?
