A FAMILY DINNER — Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) delivers some disturbing news to Alaric (Matt Davis) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) about the weapon used in a recent murder. In the Salvatore brothers’ escalating quest to kill Klaus (Jospeh Morgan), Stefan (Paul Wesley) turns to Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Abby (guest star Persia White), while Damon (Ian Somerhalder) reaches out to an old acquaintance for help in setting up an elaborate plan. Intent on a plan of his own, Klaus hosts a strange dinner party, where he reveals another story from his family’s violent past until an unexpected guest brings the party to an end. Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice Accola) is heartbroken when she is unable to stop a tragedy from unfolding. Zach Roerig also stars. Jeffrey Hunt directed the episode written by Turi Meyer & Al Septien (#313).

  1. I'm betting Tyler is being forced to do Klaus's 'dirty work' now like Stefan had done. My poor boys, :'( I so want Klaus to pay for this!! STOP BLOWING HOLES IN MY SHIP TOO BASTARD!!!

  2. Oh no, I sure hope that this "tragedy" isn't another series regular death...

  3. I have a feeling that the next one killed is going to be Tyler.

  4. This acquaintance must be Elijah. I can't imagine another choice. Also, this murder weapon stuff sounds weird. OH I LOVE THIS SHOW.

  6. I suppose. If they're using the term "acquaintance" loosely in an attempt to be vague.

  7. Sounds AMAZING! So much action!  Have the feeling whenever they say about old acquaintance it's always about Katherine;) But who's coming to the dinner?
    And what's with the weapon?

  8. I think the unexpected guest is Rebekah. Elijah, I don't know, I think Katherine may be the help that Damon has.

  15. This almost seems like they're turning this conflict into some sort of gang warfare.  I approve.  Also, two big thumbs up for more Sheriff Forbes.

  16. Bite your tongue.  That would be terrible.

  17. I wouldn't mind if Tyler was killed off but I think his popularity will keep him around.

  18. That's a solid theory.  I figure if Elijah was going to return we would have read something about it.  It would be hard to keep that a secret.

  19. Julie Plec said a while back that they were going to give Matt a love interest so don't expect him to be killed off before that happens.

  20. I'm pretty sure I read he was going to be back in this episode. Of course, this episode also has flashbacks, so that could be the extent of his return. Time will tell.

  21. Maybe Caroline's heartbreak has to do with her Dad.

  22. Def Elijiah, was in the preview. I'm kind of hoping they don't kill Klaus, he is starting to grow on me.
