This summer’s new season of True Blood is one of the most highly anticipate shows on HBO. Writers and cast members have promised a whole host of surprises this year and we, of course expect to delve deeper into a few of the characters origin stories.
For this season there has been speculation that Pam, Eric Northmen’s friend and confidant, will have her origin story explored. Alan Ball, lead writer on the True Blood team is looking for new cast members in particular. A non-threatening man in his 30s and a prostitute oddly named “Washcloth Helen.” Both of these characters will be introduced to fans during a flashback to a San Francisco brothel in 1905. The date is significant because 1905 is supposedly the date where Pam becomes a Vampire according to author Charlaine Harris.
The HBO team has changed the story before so the fact that Pam actually turns in London in the novels doesn’t mean much. Will we see more of Pam played by the lovely and talented Kristin Bauer in Season 5? Only the True Blood gods know for sure.

When we learned we'd get Pam in flashbacks, I sort of assumed this origin of her turning would be a subject.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been spending much attention to True Blood spoilers and rumours lately. Dropped out of season 4 while it aired and still need to catch up on it.
ReplyDeleteI hope they're exploring Pam's origins because she becomes a maker. My theory is she shows up and is forced to turn Tara. Which I think could happen because it seems like that's where Pam's storyline was going and would be an interesting direction for both characters.
ReplyDeleteTrue Blood is such an amazing vampire series. This show takes surprising twists and turns. Its excellent series.
ReplyDeleteI thought Tara was gone for good. I heard she's joining The Walking Dead's cast.
ReplyDeleteThanks;) Pam's great!
ReplyDeleterealy excited to see how it all turns out!
ReplyDeletePam is one of the characters from TB that I want to see a lot more of, so this is great news. More Pam - yay!
ReplyDeleteThere was a rumour that she will be playing Michonne on The Walking Dead, but that rumour has been proven wrong: http://www.spoilertv.com/2011/12/walking-dead-rutina-wesley-not-playing.html
ReplyDeleteLooks like she'll be back for True Blood's 5th season, but not in which capacity.
I've been saying that since the finale but everyone was all like, 'No way.' But I still think it's true.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see more of Pam's background - she's still such a mysterious person
ReplyDeleteI take this with a grain of salt, Pam was promoted to the Main cast last season right? We barley got anything new about her plus her screen time did not really increase.
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool
ReplyDeleteWith that many cast members it's hard to increase screen time for anyone. That's been the main problem True Blood has been facing for some time now. Way too many characters with way too many (sometimes/often pointless) subplots...
ReplyDeleteI'm all for getting deeper into who Pam is and who she was. It's about time for Pam to go through some character progression. She's one of the few characters who haven't changed in the slightest since her introduction.
ReplyDeleteWith the way her and Eric's relationship is going, with him pulling away for Sookie and Pam not being okay with that, it makes sense for Pam to become a maker. And the finale set-up a reason for her going to Sookie's house, to look for Eric. She shows up and finds Sookie begging for help, if she doesn't help, that could cause the already thin ice with Eric to break. So even though she doesn't want to do it, she might do it anyway just to earn some points with Eric.
