Other cop shows tend to falter as they grow older, but Southland shows no signs of slowing down. Because just when you think it couldn’t possibly get any better after a downright amazing third season, season four comes along and hits you like a ton of bricks. It all begins with a stellar hour entitled “Wednesday” that picks up several months after the events of last season’s finale, and tosses us into new dynamics and partnerships that all serve as catalysts for a season which is almost certainly the best one yet.
