NBC has put the pilot for their last hope.... erm I mean their upcoming series "SMASH" online as of today.
It is available on Apple iTunes, Amazon VOD, Xbox, Playstation, Samsunb MediaHub, Vudu, Comcast's VOD and on some American Airlines flights. Beginning on January 23, the pilot will be online and can be streamed from NBC.com and Hulu.

Going to check this one out early I think.. I see it is already up on Comcast on Demand....
ReplyDeleteDownloading Smash now. Thanks for the heads up. If anyone missed the premiere of The Finder or The Firm, they are free right now on iTunes too.
ReplyDeletethanks
ReplyDeleteNice. Downloading now. Will watch when I get the chance. I tend to check iTunes periodically for free episode downloads but haven't done so in a while and there's quite a few things on there now!
ReplyDeleteCan't download or watch it as I live in germany. Hope it pops up as a torrent/divX stream so I can watch it. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteCool. Downloading it on itunes now....
ReplyDeleteDisclaimer: I am not a hardcore musical fan, I've liked a few shows in my time and I do like the musicals Joss Whedon has done but I wouldn't say that whole Broadway show thing is something I love.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely fell in love with this show. The first 15 minutes or so I was unsure but once the music started I thought it was so well done. Looking at the preview for the next few episodes I simply can't wait.
NBC I think you may actually have a hit.
Also both ladies should get the part!
Okay, I've watched it right now. I have to say, after these high expectations I was a LITTLE underwhelmed. I feel like all the great scenes were included in the trailer. Although I really want to see more after the trailer at the end of the episode. Long story short: not as good as I thought it would be (yet), waaaay different than Glee and maybe NBCs last chance.
ReplyDeleteyay gonna watch this and the Southland episode too!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn, desperation! They had Smash commercials and pop up ads all over the place on the GGs last night too. I will be watching it when it comes out, not that I count or anything.
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way. The trailer moved me - it wowed me!
ReplyDeleteThe episode was very good, but was not the instant shot of adrenaline that the trailer was.
I also felt the "imaginations come to life" showing the performances in full Marilyn wardrobe were used a bit strangely. That cutting back and forth for such short intervals was far, far less dramatic than it would have been if they started with the cast in their rehearsal gear and transitioned to the dress performance and then back to the rehearsal/audition at the end.
Also cinematography style pulled me out of the moment a few times... Maybe just me though...
Still a very good pilot for me and I am not a fan of musicals all the time. I will be watching more for sure.
I agree.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge fan of the musical genre specifically either, but I loved the style, choreography and music much more than say the over done modernizing on some other unnamed musical series.
PHENOMENAL, one of the best new shows this season in my opinion. It definitely lived up to my expectations and I loved how they incorporated the music into the episode. And I also agree, I think that BOTH ladies should play Marilyn. That trailer at the end of the episode also only made me want more episodes ASAP!
ReplyDeleteI have acquired the episode but have not yet watched it. I'll get to it before the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteThank you, just watched it. Very good so far and boy can Katharine McPhee sing.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I didn't watched the trailer and only heard of this cause a friend got the episode, but I fell in love with this show, not because the premise was original, not because the number were great, it was more than a hook, the show was consistent and you actually got to care about most characters at the end of the pilot.
ReplyDeleteGreat elements all around woven together professionally and with a lot of heart, now we have the mystery, who will play Marilyn!
Good show, not gimicky and with great care of it's characters, on a exciting setting, that's what I like to see.
What did you think? I thought it was AWESOME!!!! I am excited for a show consistency on top of all the drama! Thanks NBC!
ReplyDeleteive been busy im gonna watch it tomorrow during the day hopefully. bet def b4 we go to the movies.
