Sherlock - New Steven Moffat Interview

Jan 11, 2012

It's time for the great detective to bid adieu once more - the second series of Sherlock comes to an end this Sunday night. The genius crime-solver (Benedict Cumberbatch) is forced into a deadly confrontation with his arch-foe (Andrew Scott), but will either man survive the Reichenbach fall?

To mark this year's momentous finale, Digital Spy caught up with series co-creator Steven Moffat to chat about Moriarty, the possibility of a third series and the future of John and Sherlock's relationship...

  1. Are you planning to make a third series of Sherlock?
    "If he survives!"
Damn you Moffat, damn your teasing to the very depths of hell!

  2. I really hope they won't marry off John or make him move away. Seriously, this is one show where shipping etc. should be left out, just like it was in the books, basically "Hi, Mary" and "Bye, Mary." Leave shipping to the Guy Ritchie movies. Most people are in it for the cases and/or for the friendship between Sherlock and John.

  3. LOL, it would be funny if the whole thing was a ruse and it ended with John's apparent death :P

  4. Oh god I think that would hit me more than Sherlock's!

  5.  Writers need to bring some change so characters can evolve. For example, season two Sherlock is more human because of his new frienship with John.
In that regard, moving John away from  the flat or getting him engaged could be interesting.
Sherlock being childlike and totally self-centered. It could be fun to see how he react and adjust to this new situation:-)
That said, I totally agree with your sentence : this is one show where shipping etc. should be left out

  6. Great stuff.  Thanks for posting!
I love the little hints at what directions they could take with future episodes, (after this whole 'fall' thing is resolved, of course, and once our suddenly world-famous are available again...  Trying not to think about that part!)
