It's the moment The Secret Circle fans have been waiting for since the new CW series premiered: Cassie's father, the mysterious John Blackwell, is coming to Chance Harbor.
Joe Lando has been tapped to portray Blackwell, whose original name in the L.J. Smith book series was Black John, a former member of the Circle many centuries ago who was killed by his own coven after he began to dabble in dark magic.
In the CW series, Blackwell is described as a commanding, enigmatic and powerful witch with many enemies. He'll return to Chance Harbor in Episode 15 (titled "Return") claiming to be a changed man, and determined to protect Cassie (Britt Robertson) and her Circle.

I thought he was dead... did I miss something?
ReplyDeleteNo surprise here.
ReplyDeleteOMG, Sully! So awesome :D
ReplyDeleteColor me excited! There was no doubt in my mind that John Blackwell was going to show up at some point. That much was obvious. The interesting part in this is HOW he'll be showing up in his return and what exactly it'll mean for the future. The writers of the show already said that if he were to ever show up he's going to be around for a long time with a very long plan, so I'm interested to see how it plays out. This coming Thursday we're going to learn more about what happened 16 years ago as Cassie and Jake work on a spell to see the past through Jake's memories, so we'll finally get to know what happened then. This show is really heating up!
ReplyDeletewell in the books he never was dead so it's no surprise they went the same route in the show my bet is he faked his death or something
ReplyDeleteI KNEW IT! I just wonder what his relationship with the parents will be like. I wonder if anyone will miss him…..Super excited.
ReplyDeleteJoe Lando is AWESOME. I'm so happy
ReplyDeleteSo the dead father rises from the grave, but it isn't possible for Nick xD. I don't get these screenwriters ^^. anyway excited to see him because the dark side is always better :)
ReplyDeleteSully!
ReplyDeleteYeah guess it seems like the perfect character to have faked his own death, considering that he was not the most popular guy...
ReplyDeleteJoe Lando? That is definitely not someone I picture when thinking of John Blackwell. Nothing against Joe Lando but I just don't see it. I'm going to need to see him onscreen to be convinced this wasn't a miscasting.
ReplyDeleteI agree…I hope he can live up to my expectations of John Blackwell.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Great news!
ReplyDeleteI am having a hard time imagining him as a villain
