Psych - Renewed for 7th Season

USA’s longest-running current series is about to get a little longer.
Psych is coming back for a seventh season. Stars James Roday and Dulé Hill announced the pickup on the show’s social media feeds Tuesday. Last year Psych averaged 2.3 million adult 18-49 viewers last season. The show will return for 16 episodes later this year.

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it would get renewed, but I just love knowing that its a definite thing! Now that its confirmed, the writers better be honest to their word and give us a musical episode

    I'm not surprised.  I wonder if it will be the last?  Roday has been dropping hints about this show nearing the end for two seasons now.

    I'm not sure that I agree with that completely.  It's still funny but Psych is almost the same show it was when it first premiered.  It never really changes much.

    I agree it is basically the same series, but I still find it funny. I think it is actually better these last few years than the first season because they found their rhythm and now they can make callback jokes to the previous 5 seasons! XD

    To be fair though... I quit watching after season 1.5 and caught up in Season 4, then quit again during season 5 and caught up to date more recently. So maybe my viewing habbits have as much to do with me still finding it funny.. or even funnier than 6 years ago?

    Yeah, I watched the first season and the third season and caught up with the rest this summer, I do hope that this is the last season, I prefer for a show to go out on it's own terms, than have the network milk it for all it's worth

    I can definitely see how your perception of the show would be different when you watch in large chucks after long dormancy periods, rather than watching one week at a time.

    yes, it's basically the same... and I say if it aint broke, don't fix it... this is not a show that requires a lot of drama or character progression, it thrives mostly on funny situations and interactions between the main cast and a the guest stars...

    In some ways, it's like South Park. They zero in on a theme for an episode and just go for it.

    Fantastic news!  As a pretty new Psych viewer, I'd have been heartbroken to see the show end just after I discovered it.  So glad there's more goofiness to come.
