I just finished the episode, and like most of you I absolutely loathed the pilot, but the second episode was actually worth watching, even funny at times. Still highly stylized, but it wasn't an empty shallow disappointing void (which the pilot was)... So if anyone has doubts about the show, especially those that were expecting to like it until they saw the pilot or the promos I suggest you give it another chance with episode two. If you find you still don't like it, then I doubt you will like it after another episode, but if like me you think the second episode was much better then I'd expect it might continue to grow on you as the writers continue to finess the series. Personally, I now have high hopes for the third which is really, really surprising given that awful awful pilot...
Basically, give it another go and I expect many will be pleasantly suprised.
I honestly didn't see anything wrong with either episode. Of course this isn't a show that is meant to go that deep, mainly it is a guilty pleasure of a show, very much like its follow up Californication. Plot be damned, this show is about a guy who's a legend...in his own mind, he's the Hank Moody of corporate management specialists.
I agree the 2nd was twice as good as the first, which unfortunately is like saying you prefer to step on snails rather than slugs. Maybe I've just been spoilt with the other incredible shows around, but this one doesn't grab me.
That said, its a bit of fun (why do we like main characters with ridiculous egos???), and a complete break from pretty much everything else I watch, which likely means it'll stay on my list.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This show is really bad.
ReplyDeleteI Think this show is pretty good so far

Interestingly good, I was ok with the first episode but this one was a lot of fun I felt. Curious how the rest of the show will go.
ReplyDeleteHa me too. And I don't even watch house.
ReplyDeleteI suppose that House has nothing to do with my HOUSE.
ReplyDeletewhile it is funny, they dont need to have Marty angry bang his wife again.
