Great finale. Good set up of future plot elements. Clearly Lily and Cullen are very much in love (that goes without saying) but he's a fugitive now not just looking for vengeance but redemption as well. They're setting up gun fighter Elam who will now more than likely be the one chasing Cullen. Elam has made no secret of making something of himself at all costs and given the large bounty on Cullen; this conflict is inevitable. Like dare I say it: two trains on a collision course. And finally.... Joseph you sly dog! Good episode. Season two looks to be very promising.
I like what you predict about Elam going up against Cullen. I actually think Elam will be the new "Swede" of the town, since he is working directly for Mr Durant now, and considering the town has it out for the real swede as it seems. Next season will be awesome I can smell it. I am not ever a "shipper" but I do want Lily and Cullen to make it happen.
This show really got better with episode that aired. After a mediocre pilot things turned around pretty soon and the last few episodes were pretty great. If only Common and Anson Mount were a bit better actors it would have been truely awesome. But at least Mount showed some promise and the supporting cast was more or less pretty great. I think a big part in that improvement was Joe Shiban. This guy had the chance to learn from Vince Gilligan and I'm glad AMC put him in charge after the pilot, without him and just the Gaytons the show easily could have turned out to be a desaster.
I don't quite get why the show is getting so much critical "hate". Sure, it's not absolutely perfect and shows like Breaking Bad or Mad Men are surperior, but they really got their act together throughout the season.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Helluva good finale! Damn, it's going to be miserable waiting for next season!
