    I thought it was a great episode but I was not expecting that last scene with the preacher, although I did like what he did to the soldier...

    Interesting that the chief thinks it's worse he's lost Joseph/Black Moon than that Pawnee Killer is dead.

    Just finished watching 1x08 and 1x09 back to back and even though I liked the show before, I must say now it really found its groove. Before Mount and Common bothered me a bit, but their acting has also improved over the season. The supporting actors like Meaney, Heyerdahl, McElligot, Noonan and guest actors like Olsson or Spears have been from good to excellent all season long.
    Characters like the McGinnes brothers or Eva that seemed a bit out of place at the beginning are now a working part of the story and a boring character like Ruth became interesting.

    the episode was really great. Joseph killing Pawnee Killer was a huge surprise, I did not expect that. Liked the scene with Ruth later when he finally showed emotions because of killing his brother. The Swede was great in his few moments on screen. Elam's increasingly important role within the leadership group is quite intriguing and the ending was totally WTF. Never thought something like that would happen, but the Reverend has been acting pretty crazy lately.

    Heyerdahl/Swede was so good on SPN as Alastair, just plain evil and fun to watch.

    Yes the song is called "Timshel," a word that translates as "thou mayest;" the word suggests that we as humans, with the consciousness we "achieved" by eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the Garden of Eden, can in every moment CHOOSE our behavior; we can choose between good and evil."     This start was perfect, the song, the action and never have I seen a whole song used in this way.  I am a huge fan of Mumford & Sons and knew it had to be them, they have such a different sound.  Thanks for the link.
