So Jones is behind the shifters as a few of us speculated before? IT has to be an outside source if it's not Walter or Walternate right? Jones is the likely suspect then.
Great to see him back, but now I want more info dammit! XD
Nice to see Broyles alive and kicking over there, Walternate showing his "softer" side and being paternal to Peter and Fauxlivia and Lincoln beginning to question the great and powerful Oz!
All the "irrelevant" character stuff from the first half of the season is going to figure into the rest of the season nicely I bet now that the myth arc is back.
I hope September never shows up in front of me, all mind-ready-speaking-what-I'm-thinking and dire! Telling me I need to die to save the worlds. That's too much pressure for me. XD
Amazing. John Noble was once again, great. And I loved the emotion he showed on this version of Walternate. For me, it was almost like this Walternate was a mixture of our Walter (the one from seasons 1 to 3) and Walternate. I even liked him a bit.
Dammit Man! I warned you multi-tasking while watching Fringe is dangerous! Especially when multiple Lincolns, Olivias, and universes are there to distract!
OH MY GOD. So much just happened! That has to be one of the best episodes of the entire series. Just immense acting, events, and WTF scenes left and right!
Thanks! I am so happy i wasn't disappointed in the show, but oh wow,i cannot believe September told Olivia that she had to die, that he looked at all the universes what do you think that is about?
And do not forget tectonic-shifting events that change the dynamic of the series! - Olivia is now what Peter was to the first 3 seasons... So says September. - Jones is back! Which jones from which universe though? - The v2.0 shifters have infiltrated important spots OVer There, what about Over Here? - The v2.0 are not Walternate or Walter's doing and are from an outside source.
Those are some serious cataclysmic events for one episode!
I would like to know why the two people voted awful? It's your opinion and I respect that, just would like to know why.
This is great TV and I am praying Fringe does not end this season. I work at a college and I've been telling everyone to watch Fringe. "Good luck with your classes this semester. Oh, by the way, watch Fringe on Jan. 13th at 9." No lie...
I really have to watch it again tomorrow to catch everything. I'm still confused as to which universe is which. There are like three or four now! Great episode, great story, great acting, etc.!! Need more Astrid though and a Charlie comeback!
The which is which universe issue has yet to be resolved so I'm sure you aren't alone!
I mean Peter thinks that he is in a different universe, so there would be AT LEAST 3 for sure if so. Four if the "Over There" to the new prime universe is not the same red verse as before....
I still think Peter is in fact home, but the timeline has changed. So there would still be only 2 universes (Red and Blue) with this season's Blue Verse being adjusted for Peter being erased from it.
Love the walking FRINGE promo that you were at school! XD
My first thought was that in the first 3 seasons, Peter was the alien element and his removal from the Red Verse was the catalyst for the destruction of both universes.
The Observers were always trying to course correct and thought removing Peter would fix the situation. Now they realize his death (or eradication) will not, and Olivia is the one that needs to die to save the universes.
Why though? I have no idea since Olivia is not a foreign element to this universe like Peter was before.....
THERE BACK! This episode reminds me what powerful story telling is.They nailed everything, just like they have in past episodes,in past seasons....I really need to watch it again,i just can't decide if it will be tonight or tomorrow.... :P
BAH! You might be right! so many possibilities. I was posting prematurely without thinking of the other possibilities. I can't wait for the rest of the season.
I have asked the very same question, but don't hold your breath, you will never get an answer.I do not know if they do it because they really don't like the show,or if they just feel like being dicks? i suspect they feel like being dicks...
I am also going to watch it again, probably tonight and tomorrow. I just love this show! Have a good evening! :)
The first couple episodes of the season's were really causing me to lose my interest in Fringe, but after that episode all I can think is how awesome it's actually getting.
To me it felt like we were going nowhere, but in typical Fringe fashion everything I thought changed in one great episode.
Love that Jones is back and the good Walternate is pretty awesome, I'm glad they're actually using the other universe now since it was something that they had that they kind of sidelined after the first two or three episodes.
I also still think he is the right place, just that the timelines have been altered. It was made clearer to me tonight in a few instances. Which of course, I can't recount right now over my elation for this ep. :P
Maybe is an If - Then equation: If Olivia is the one who can't seem to "get rid of him" (dream reference) when the repercussion was the Peterless time line, then Peter's fate can't be fullfil, and that's why she's suppose to die, along with Peter never existing...Whaaa?????...I don't even know anymore...
I noticed some too but brain melted a little and I cannot recall now! XD
I do know every time I hear Peter say "I'm not your son" or "I'm not in the right place" or " I need to get home" it feels like they are trying to talk me into believing that. More than it feels like it's true to me....
There seems to be some "cosmic cleaning crew" that kills rogue Observers.
In Season 2 August had a contract put on him for helping that girl he had been watching for years and cared too much about to let die. The assassin got his orders from some cosmic fax machine and looked like John Goodman. XD Donald? I forget. But that fits perfectly with this season and how we have revisited many of the early episodes of FRINGE from new angles in this alternative timeline. In this timeline September has gotten too attached to a boy he has been protecting for years named Peter. So much so he did not pull the trigger and erase him completely from existence! Sounds familiar to me!So either that last scene was an homage to the episode "August" or it is a sign that the next episode may well be this season's version of "August" altered to fit this timeline.
When some journalist said he could call this episode a gamechanger I thought it`s a marketing thing. But what the hell? When you realize now, what the consequences are (it hit me when Jones told he`s planning to make himself Boliveshifter and Lincshifter). They`re sooo screwed. When Peter says those shapeshifters are impossible find you think to yourself (I know I did) "Boo-hoo here, boo-hoo there and at the end of the day it`s going to have a happy ending." But now I see, how, screwed they all are.
With AltLincoln and Bolivia dead and replaced by the shapeshifters (that`s how it seems now, but maybe it won`t happen), with AltBroyles already being a shapeshifter... No wonder why Walternate is pissing his pants. If it wasn`t for these new shapeshifters I believe he would be the same old Walternate we all know. When he took that "gun" out while in the office with Peter, milions of options went through my head. But not the one that came to pass :D. Confirming his suspition that Brandon has been replaced by a shapeshifter and showing Peter he`s not really behind it...well, that was just briliant!
And with the September and Olivia. I honestly can`t say what the f*** will happen. During the second season, about 75% of my guesses turned out to be right (about what`s going to happen next on the show). In the third season I was right about 50%, but now...I have no freaking idea :D
We could get into that "Which one must die?" scenario with Olivia.
September said she has to die, he has looked into all the possible futures and Olivia has to die. So IF Olivia dies does it prevent a shifter from replacing her in FRINGE Division and therefore prevent the end game, or does September actually see a Shifter in her body dying?
More over.... Our Blue Verse Olivia saw the mysterious animated Mr. X kill her in a vision. We have always thought of Mr. X is a bad guy, but if he kills Olivia and saves the universes, could he be a good guy? Or could Olivia have seen Mr. X killing a shapeshifter in her body when she had the dream?
Bringing up Mr. X.... is the most epic big bad premiering in Episode 4.15 played by Michael Massee end up being Mr. X?
Wow, That's a lot ot ponder... you have me thinking now! XD
Awesome! Well worth the wait and I'm glad we get to see what follows next week! The shapeshifter/Jones plot has definitely peeked my interest and I'm glad to see (although most of us knew) him back in the show.
One of the best shows on TV! Hell, Best Drama/Sci-Fi on TV! It's sad it doesn't get more viewers, I'm definitely going to savor every episode from here on out. I will consider it a miracle and be so grateful if Fringe and Community are both renewed for one last year.
Now back to the show...what the hell with the ending!?
Like I wrote below earlier. I think the ending could be a combination of two past FRINGE plots manifesting in different ways in this altered timeline.
First Olivia could be the new "Peter" in the Observer's plan. Before they tried to course correct by removing Peter from the equation, now in this timeline it could be Olivia.....
Second. September being shot could be similar to August being shot in Season 2 while trying to pretect the little girl he had been watching for years. Maybe September was assassinated because he protected Peter in the old timeline..... or maybe in this timeline he has been protecting Olivia unbeknownst to anyone since this timeline is not as focused on the Observers.
Massive shifts in the show's dynamic are afoot... Massive Dynamic changes too? XD
Ah I suppose I should've read through some more of the other messages, so I apologize for you having to write it again.
But I do really like that idea of two past plots manifesting into a new cool plot in this altered timeline. Still, no matter which universe whether it be good ol' Blue, the alt-verse, or this new one, I don't want Olivia to die. Hopefully September's little show up will create a timeline even he didn't come up with, or maybe I'm trying to be too optimistic.
Ah yes, I forgot that Massive Dynamic is weird (well weirder) now too, very curious to see how all of this will play out.
Oddly enough, I kind of felt like Peter for this episode, like his old universe still exists and he has to get back there rather than adjust to this one indefinitely.
It may just be the fact that I watched this episode at 2 am, but the whole thing twisted and turned so much that the only way I can describe it is mind blowing. It definitely needs a rewatch when my brain is functioning more. Kudos to the Fringe cast and crew for creating one heck of a start back from hiatus (or I guess one heck of a midseason finale pushed back to midseason premiere). Too bad the midseason couldn't have ended on this note.
I subscribe to the Broyles is a shifter theory. I can't see how he could be anything else. Of course, I'm not sure my mind is capable of wrapping around Fringe's mysteries after this episode.
Ah I know that feeling. Fringe brings me back to the days where I'd talk about Lost a lot to try and come up with ideas/theories and analyze the show to make sense of it. Now Fringe has taken that spot as it almost requires the constant analysis to try and make sense of what happened in an episode. Gotta love it!
Crying over how brillant that was. I mean DRJ coming back wasn't a surprise but I am still so happy he is back because it links everything to S1 and I love that.
Poor September *sobs* and poor Olivia!
I'm guessing Alt!Broyles is a shapeshifter rather than just a mole, but who knows.
I love the snark between the two Lincoln's, tee hee. They will do great things together I feel.
All the Walternate/Peter stuff was amazing, I always kind of knew when we first ever saw Walternate that he wouldn't be the Big Bad, that he had some kind of good in him much like Alt!Liv isn't a completely evil version of our Liv. I really can't wait to see the two sides work together.
I think the 6 people who voted awful are shapeshifters ;)
I read it as the two dead people who have returned in S4 are in collaboration. In a sense they're returned life has seen them come together somehow. Surely it's no coincidence that they were both dead, and now they are both working together!
Episode was entertaining, but I think the problem with Fringe is they got carried away. The game became to elaborate (to quote from another show). We had one universe, then parallel universes, now we have a bridge to both where suddenly nothing is as we remember it, and yet we spend so much time on it. Then, the mission seems to be to leave it and to return..where? To the bridged universes but with nothing changed? That would defeat the purpose. To universes that aren't bridged and still are suffering? That would be waste of about two previous seasons. I really hope there is season five because they really got entangled (and not in a quantum way) and I don't see how can they make all previous seasons matter and yet give real purpose to the past 8 episodes all with the same resolution. 'Kiff we got a conundrum. Search them from paper..and bring me a rock'
It's good to see the over there again..This episode has been fantastic!! Many elements of shock and surprise..and shouting as well.. I never thought the bad guy behind shapeshifters is not Walternate.. And Brandonate..alt-Broyles...oh gawd.... And NO!! Olivia can NOT DIE AGAIN!!!
I voted Great, but I was close to voting it OK. Now Im not trying to troll but I was a little bit bored. This was a "furthering on" episode and whilst it did that completely, I felt it kind of stagnated through a lot of it. My thoughts by the end were "they are handcuffing Peter... AGAIN!?!"
There were some decent twists (which I slightly spoiled myself for - I am going to try my hardest not to anymore as it seems to impact on my enjoyment) and although it was a very "setting up" episode, it did it's job well.
I just wonder if its got such a fantastic reception because we have had a break for a few weeks and its potentially the last season, so Fringe fans are getting swept up in the anticipation?
I loved it! And Elizabeth was the best! Mother always knows. But the end was like: COME ON! First Peter, now Olivia! Who's next? Walter? BTW, Is it just me or does anyone else also kinda likes the other side more than ours? I mean, mostly people there and their attitude towards things (and Peter's presence). Also, is Broyles helping Jones? What the hell?!
I really like the idea of Cosmic cleaning crew" i never thought of it like that.I don't remember a hit being put on September, not saying it didn't happen,i just do not remember it but it does make sense especially if one thinks back to August. Is this crazy or what but i felt for September seeing him shot!
What is everyone talking about?? I love Fringe but there was absolutely nothing awesome about the episode?? I don't get it, absolutely nothing happened except for the end! I'm not saying I didn't like the episode but from all of your comments it seems like there was something shocking and so awesome you just couldn't miss this episode... As I said I love Fringe and will always watch but it feels like you are all in denial about this episode
Love this episode, what a start after the mid season break. So glad I don't have to wait two month for the next episode. Great acting by everyone esp the Seth, really nailed it! Think I am going to have to re-watch it again soon.
I don't know why but I have a feeling Mr Jones might remember the old timeline. Also remember in LSD, the theory that man who kills Olivia is Peter. After seeing this it start to look that whoever come up with that could be onto something.
That guy who is going to play the bad guy in 4.15 certainly looks a lot like Mr. X. BUT...I am really curious what are his motives towards the two universes and their situation with Mr. Jones.
Wow, our characters have a huge pile of troubles on their shoulders. I look forward to see how it is going to play out.
totally agree with you!!! I don't get why everyone think it was so awesome and my theory was just like yours that it's because of the winter break. There have been so many other great episodes and this just wasn't on that "awesome" level
It was an amazing episode, and i also felt for Sept. and Olivia, but i also felt for Walternate,it was almost heartbreaking to watch him and Peter.
And yeah those 6 are shapeshifters! btw that was great and i will never forget it, so the next time it happens that is what they will be called. No matter what show it might be.. :D
My God, Amazing episode!!! And that ending! Right now I actually am pretty happy that this was not the last episode before the hiatus, I can't even stand the thought of waiting one week before being able to watch the rest.
Loved it! I haven't had time to comment on it, our topic has not been started in the forum for some reason, but I did manage to finally put a theory I refer to often together, as this episode added some more weight to it!
Creating the Perfect Soldier: The Evolution of the Observers http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=23330
I will be back later to discuss the episode and how I feel it relates to a second story in the prequel comics, "LSD" (Mr. X), "August", "Inner Child", "The Plateau", and how we must rely on "the Firefly" for hope!
Really? Well there are a lot of us who see it differently, and i do not think it is denial,it was a great episode, one of the best this season! You have your opinion which is cool, and we have ours. :)
If you rewatch, "LSD", "The Plateau" and "August" you find this to be an intriguing episode. -Both Walters are clearly not the same as they are in the other timelines...if We take reciprocity as a point of interest as to "why" Peter is here, then you can clearly see it's about having an oppertunity to be BETTER THAN HIS FATHER, and change his relationships with others by helping these characters, whom seem to have a third threat, either Nina or another version of ZFT.
Additionally, September may be dead, but his interference AGAIN with saving Peter's life, like August, may also be the thing that gives potential to 'save" EVERYTHING in this timeline and Peter's.
Great episode!! Loved seeing the observer, loved both Lees and both Olivias. And I really really liked seeing Mr Jones again. It´s gonna be soooo good.......
Guess I just didn't see it as awesome as everyone is describing it to be, I have noticed that fans of a show will always say that they love an episode even if it wasn't really that great. Also I don't think people would have had the same opinions if this would've aired before the winter break, as a huge fan of the show myself I was waiting during the break and really wanted this to be a great episode. Thought it turned out to be more of a great setup episode for future cool things rather than being a great standalone episode. Totally agree with you about everyone having an opinion, that's what makes watching a great show like Fringe and then coming here to read all of the other fans' comments :)
I loved all of the episodes you mention but as I said I didn't really think it was one of the great episodes. In my opinion there have been other better episodes in regard to both emotion and action. You do however give great explanations on the relationship thing and I agree that it was a cool ending. With all the hype I read about the episode before it aired I just wanted more I guess, maybe I shouldn't read about episodes and just watch and see what I think :)
You will never catch me saying an episode is awesome or great because i happen to love a certain show.If an episode or season sucks i say it,i might not like saying it,or to vote that way,but i do.Hell i even fess up in the comment section, when i voted awful for an episode...
Would i like to see you have a more favorable opinion on this episode sure, would i like to see you watch it again especially after DarthLocke4 gives you a different way of looking at things definitely....One thing for sue, this is definitely the place where one can express there opinion, and usually (usually) not have to be racked over the coals for it.. :)
I think more movement in the myth arc happened in this one episode than the previous seven this year. We found out about the shifters infiltrating high-level government posts 'Over There', we found out the shifters are not Walternate's minions this time around, we found out Jones is behind the shifters, we found out someone has killed or tried to kill September for interfering in events and protecting Peter (most likely), and we found out Peter is no longer the sacrifice prophecy demands to save the universes - Olivia is!
That is a lot of huge pivotal events that transpired.
An unbelievably awesome episode ...totally worth the wait. So good to see Walternate finally and so interesting to see him as less the big, bad, bitter Walternate of season 3 and more...it's difficult to describe him. He still had his secrets but he wanted the other side to know that there was a bigger threat. I've always loved Walternate but this version is fascinating. The scenes between him and Peter were fabulous as well - you'd never expect him to be more fatherly to Peter than our Walter.
So happy to see Orla Brady - love that she recognised Peter - hope it's not the last we see of her.
Seems even in this timeline Alt-Broyles has met a nasty fate - if he is a shifter. Jones is such a good villain and he's got feelers everywhere. I wonder if he'll get his hands on Fauxlivia and Alt-Linc.
Someone shot September! And that cliffhanger was just amazing - Olivia has to die? When and why?
And just to end...poor our-Linc - he was still stuck in the maintenance closet when we ended the ep - hope someone lets him out!
I thought it was a great episode! It felt very preparatory, though. Which is a good thing because it had 2 reveals that can develop in a very interesting way, but it felt a bit unfinished. Next episode should be awesome!
The mole??!! I would have never told!!! And I was quite surprised about September's message to Olivia. He didn't say you will die but in every possible future you die... Which is a huge difference and very disheartening!!! This means that in every single iteration Olivia ends up dying. Peter is not going to like this news... I really want to know how Peter will work around this piece of news, should be interesting!!!
I loved seeing Orla Brady, flawless, as usual! I missed Scarlie... Great episode, overall!!
Finally! I've been waiting for an episode as good as this! It confuses me more and more each episode but I love it nonetheless lol. Awesome ending with September and Olivia, though!
I was there in theory but only for commercials, and even then I was tweeting for the most part, so I was sorta absent myself this time around. Normally i'd be all fingers in their during commercials, and even during the show itself.
Wow I swear it was like watching a tennis match with the back and forth twists only a heck of a lot more interesting. Every other minute, there was another jaw-dropping revelation. It was epic! Definitely in the top 5 of the series in my opinion. The emotion, the action, the twists and turns. I can't even express my excitement yet! Favorite part: Elizabeth and Peter. I loved how she recognized Peter right away and never doubted for a second. Walter did too earlier in the season, but understandably his reaction was much different. It spoke volumes of a mothers love but also what U-Gene spoke of in Wallflower: "To be looked upon by the right person... to connect... and to see in their eyes kindness. Happiness. And... recognition. That's when you exist." Peter finally got what he so desperately needed. Someone to believe in him. Someone who was connected to him and acknowledged it. It was really beautiful. And the action. Geez whiz! All I can say is I am darn grateful that I don't have to wait 6 weeks for the next episode. I never thought I would say this but thank you baseball! Can't wait to see how it unfolds!
I agree, seeing the way Elizabeth knew it was Peter instantly (after the initial shock of thinking she was being robbed ) was truly beautiful, heartwarming and too brief. The relief on Peters face was plain to see,and yes he was able to experience his mothers love, even it it didn't last long....
Yep i was,and they must be.Someone and i can't remember who off hand said of the people who did vote that way were the "Shapeshifters" isn't that great! I will forever use that the next time they pull that crap! :)
I agree. It was a nice touch to the episode and it seems like Walternate's relationship to her is better, since he isn't the biggest villain 'here'. Peter and his mothers have always been some of the best scenes and this was surely no exception! (It made me all teary-eyed).
Sure. I am glad it's somewhat coherent!! Some times when i go back and reread these things, I get a little made that I couldn't write it better, make it easier to understand. -It makes me re-think too! XD
OH me too! and i never would oh thought i would say this but i even like Walternate in this universe! At first when i saw Walternate take out that device i couldn't breath, i thought No this can't be happening, you can't kill Peter, but when he killed the doctor/scientist i was so relieved. I still want to watch it again,it really was an hour filled with so many twists and turns i'm sure i missed a lot.. :0
I am glad that you do comment when you post a negative vote. I wish all the awfulizers would do that, but they seldom do. They "hit and run." I'm perfectly fine with reading a well-thought out critique, negative or positive. If I strongly disagree, I have the opportunity to respond.
I only watch TV shows that I love, so I usually vote awesome or great, with an occasional, reluctant, poor, with a comment to explain. If I'm hating a show, I stop watching it, so in that case I don't vote.
The majority of the time i don't vote poor but every once in awhile an episode is bad so hence the awful or poor. In general like you if it's a really bad episode i reach for the trusty remote.:)
Great episode. - How did Olivia not follow up with Peter when he told her she could cross over by herself? - Bolivia is starting to lighten up a bit. Yay! - Peter's mom is great, as always. - Walternate is a good guy? I still don't buy it. - Alt. Broyles is in cahoots with DRJ? Holy crap. - Why doesn't September ever show up with good news? LOL
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart Fringe
ReplyDeleteI thought it was fantastic!

ReplyDeleteGreat to see him back, but now I want more info dammit! XD
Nice to see Broyles alive and kicking over there, Walternate showing his "softer" side and being paternal to Peter and Fauxlivia and Lincoln beginning to question the great and powerful Oz!
Wasn't it a great episode? What color did you see in the opening of the show? I had an dark-ish
ReplyDeleteorange .
All the "irrelevant" character stuff from the first half of the season is going to figure into the rest of the season nicely I bet now that the myth arc is back.

ReplyDeleteIt does seem to be darkening as events unfold.....
ReplyDeleteOr maybe it's a mass delusion we all want to see? XD
I'm embarrassed to say I missed it due to my feverish tweeting. But I shall take a closer look when I rewatch it on demand tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting.
ReplyDeleteMind: BLOWN!
ReplyDeleteDammit Man! I warned you multi-tasking while watching Fringe is dangerous! Especially when multiple Lincolns, Olivias, and universes are there to distract!

ReplyDeleteHere's a cool pic posted in the live chat tonight...
ReplyDeleteGreat Episode.
ReplyDeleteIts not "Peter" or anything but its definitely one of the better episodes of the show.
Did they just throw 5 different twists at us in one episode?! Loving it!
ReplyDeleteAwsome
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am so happy i wasn't disappointed in the show, but oh wow,i cannot believe September told Olivia that she had to die, that he looked at all the universes what do you think that is about?

It's all too much to take in! Especially the last part!
ReplyDeleteWhy do they keep telling Olivia she's gonna die? lol
I would like to know why the two people voted awful? It's your opinion and I respect that, just would like to know why.
ReplyDeleteThis is great TV and I am praying Fringe does not end this season. I work at a college and I've been telling everyone to watch Fringe. "Good luck with your classes this semester. Oh, by the way, watch Fringe on Jan. 13th at 9." No lie...

ReplyDeleteOh MY GOD Tell me about it,mine too! I need to watch it again. :)

ReplyDeleteOr is he a v2.0 shifter like Brandonate was?
ReplyDeleteBAH! You might be right! so many possibilities. I was posting prematurely without thinking of the other possibilities. I can't wait for the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteWow.... just wow....
ReplyDeleteI have asked the very same question, but don't hold your breath, you will never get an answer.I do not know if they do it because they really don't like the show,or if they just feel like being dicks?
ReplyDeletei suspect they feel like being dicks...
I am also going to watch it again, probably tonight and tomorrow. I just love this show! Have a good evening! :)
Yup,me too!
ReplyDeleteI tried getting into the live chat but i kept getting dropped..... :(
ReplyDeleteThe first couple episodes of the season's were really causing me to lose my interest in Fringe, but after that episode all I can think is how awesome it's actually getting.

Love that Jones is back and the good Walternate is pretty awesome, I'm glad they're actually using the other universe now since it was something that they had that they kind of sidelined after the first two or three episodes.
What just happened? WHAT? I mean.... How? What? AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteAWESOMEEE!
ReplyDeleteCompletely! Fringe is one of only a handful shows that I watch without multitasking. ALL EYES AND EARS BABY.
ReplyDeleteI also still think he is the right place, just that the timelines have been altered. It was made clearer to me tonight in a few instances. Which of course, I can't recount right now over my elation for this ep. :P
ReplyDeleteSolid, awesome stuff. Everything worked. Some nice surprises and some heartfelt scenes. Peter and his mom? Those scenes always gut me. GAH.
ReplyDeleteIt was simply amazing and I sooo loved the way they filmed it {Mirrorized ;-]}...
ReplyDelete♥
Maybe is an If - Then equation: If Olivia is the one who can't seem to "get rid of him" (dream reference) when the repercussion was the Peterless time line, then Peter's fate can't be fullfil, and that's why she's suppose to die, along with Peter never existing...Whaaa?????...I don't even know anymore...
ReplyDeletesorry to hear!
ReplyDeleteThere wasn't too many people in there honestly... at least not chatting.
I noticed some too but brain melted a little and I cannot recall now! XD
ReplyDeleteI do know every time I hear Peter say "I'm not your son" or "I'm not in the right place" or " I need to get home" it feels like they are trying to talk me into believing that. More than it feels like it's true to me....
I'm not buying it! XD
Who could kill an OBSERVER ??
ReplyDeleteoh indeed! he even said those several times during his one episode. that stands out to me as well.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be some "cosmic cleaning crew" that kills rogue Observers.
ReplyDeleteIn Season 2 August had a contract put on him for helping that girl he
had been watching for years and cared too much about to let die.
Awful? Poor? Ok?
ReplyDeleteGreat?
You are trolls.
Awesome is not sufficient. This episode was effing fantastic!
I looked it up... August was Episode 2.08 and the assassin was Donald Long played by Paul Rae.
ReplyDeletehttp://fringepedia.net/w/images/5/5a/DonaldLong.jpg
When some journalist said he could call this episode a gamechanger I thought it`s a marketing thing. But what the hell? When you realize now, what the consequences are (it hit me when Jones told he`s planning to make himself Boliveshifter and Lincshifter). They`re sooo screwed. When Peter says those shapeshifters are impossible find you think to yourself (I know I did) "Boo-hoo here, boo-hoo there and at the end of the day it`s going to have a happy ending." But now I see, how, screwed they all are.
ReplyDeleteWith AltLincoln and Bolivia dead and replaced by the shapeshifters (that`s how it seems now, but maybe it won`t happen), with AltBroyles already being a shapeshifter...
ReplyDeleteSeptember said she has to die, he has looked into all the possible futures and Olivia has to die.
XD
awesome episode
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Well worth the wait and I'm glad we get to see what follows next week! The shapeshifter/Jones plot has definitely peeked my interest and I'm glad to see (although most of us knew) him back in the show.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best shows on TV!
ReplyDeleteFirst Olivia could be the new "Peter" in the Observer's plan.
XD
September loves Olivia. That's all....XDD
ReplyDeleteAh I suppose I should've read through some more of the other messages, so I apologize for you having to write it again.
ReplyDeleteBut I do really like that idea of two past plots manifesting into a new cool plot in this altered timeline.
ReplyDeleteNo worries about making me type it again.... It's hard to keep up with all the posts on some threads!
ReplyDeletePlus it is FRINGE so the more I type it out the more the mind analyzes and the more theories come to mind! XD
I started to like him too...at least at that point
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to the Broyles is a shifter theory. I can't see how he could be anything else. Of course, I'm not sure my mind is capable of wrapping around Fringe's mysteries after this episode.
ReplyDeleteThey would make an odd couple :>
ReplyDeleteThe Shapeshifter who killed the driver looked like the guy from Olivias comic-mind who ist going to kill her.
ReplyDeleteThe co-driver of course:-)
ReplyDeleteAh I know that feeling. Fringe brings me back to the days where I'd talk about Lost a lot to try and come up with ideas/theories and analyze the show to make sense of it. Now Fringe has taken that spot as it almost requires the constant analysis to try and make sense of what happened in an episode. Gotta love it!
ReplyDeleteCrying over how brillant that was. I mean DRJ coming back wasn't a surprise but I am still so happy he is back because it links everything to S1 and I love that.
ReplyDeletePoor September *sobs* and poor Olivia!
I thought it was AMAZING. But I beg writers - don't you dare kill Olivia again. Make the future right!!
ReplyDeleteI read it as the two dead people who have returned in S4 are in collaboration. In a sense they're returned life has seen them come together somehow. Surely it's no coincidence that they were both dead, and now they are both working together!
ReplyDeleteEpisode was entertaining, but I think the problem with Fringe is they got carried away.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see the over there again..This episode has been fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteMany elements of shock and surprise..and shouting as well..
AGAIN!?!"
ReplyDeleteThere were some decent twists (which I slightly spoiled myself for - I am going to try my hardest not to anymore as it seems to impact on my enjoyment) and although it was a very "setting up" episode, it did it's job well.
Who's next? Walter?
ReplyDeleteBTW, Is it just me or does anyone else also kinda likes the other side more than ours? I mean, mostly people there and their attitude towards things (and Peter's presence).
Also, is Broyles helping Jones? What the hell?!
I really like the idea of Cosmic cleaning crew" i never thought of it like that.I don't remember a hit being put on September, not saying it didn't happen,i just do not remember it but it does make sense especially if one thinks back to August. Is this crazy or what but i felt for September seeing him shot!
ReplyDeleteNow you know why you thought is was John Goodman.)
ReplyDeleteI think AltBroyles is a shapeshifter
ReplyDeleteWhat is everyone talking about?? I love Fringe but there was absolutely nothing awesome about the episode?? I don't get it, absolutely nothing happened except for the end! I'm not saying I didn't like the episode but from all of your comments it seems like there was something shocking and so awesome you just couldn't miss this episode... As I said I love Fringe and will always watch but it feels like you are all in denial about this episode
ReplyDeleteLove this episode, what a start after the mid season break. So glad I don't have to wait two month for the next episode. Great acting by everyone esp the Seth, really nailed it! Think I am going to have to re-watch it again soon.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but I have a feeling Mr Jones might remember the old timeline. Also remember in LSD, the theory that man who kills Olivia is Peter. After seeing this it start to look that whoever come up with that could be onto something.
Wow,i never even thought that! :)
ReplyDeleteThat guy who is going to play the bad guy in 4.15 certainly looks a lot like Mr. X. BUT...I am really curious what are his motives towards the two universes and their situation with Mr. Jones.
ReplyDeleteWow, our characters have a huge pile of troubles on their shoulders. I look forward to see how it is going to play out.
totally agree with you!!! I don't get why everyone think it was so awesome and my theory was just like yours that it's because of the winter break. There have been so many other great episodes and this just wasn't on that "awesome" level
ReplyDeleteI loved the plot and the interaction between 2 agents Lee. The Altverse is the best.
ReplyDeleteIt was an amazing episode, and i also felt for Sept. and Olivia, but i also felt for Walternate,it was almost heartbreaking to watch him and Peter.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah those 6 are shapeshifters! btw that was great and i will never forget it, so the next time it happens that is what they will be called. No matter what show it might be.. :D
My God, Amazing episode!!! And that ending! Right now I actually am pretty happy that this was not the last episode before the hiatus, I can't even stand the thought of waiting one week before being able to watch the rest.
ReplyDeleteShapeshifters hating on great shows, its part of their devious plans!
ReplyDeleteLoved it! I haven't had time to comment on it, our topic has not been started in the forum for some reason, but I did manage to finally put a theory I refer to often together, as this episode added some more weight to it!
ReplyDeleteCreating the Perfect Soldier: The Evolution of the Observers http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=23330
ReplyDeleteIt's you opinion, but I disagree.
ReplyDeleteIf you rewatch, "LSD", "The Plateau" and "August" you find this to be an intriguing episode.
Awesome episode. They better not be laying the groundwork for the series to end with Olivia's death. Happy ending, please.
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree. I definitely like alt-Olivia better.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode!! Loved seeing the observer, loved both Lees and both Olivias. And I really really liked seeing Mr Jones again. It´s gonna be soooo good.......
ReplyDeleteWow! so glad we don't have to wait 2 months for the next episode! :)
ReplyDeletewasn't the universes too messed up to open a portal like that?
ReplyDeleteGuess I just didn't see it as awesome as everyone is describing it to be, I have noticed that fans of a show will always say that they love an episode even if it wasn't really that great.
ReplyDeleteI loved all of the episodes you mention but as I said I didn't really think it was one of the great episodes.
ReplyDeletei am actually glad that this wasn't winter finale. i would have gone mad in that case
ReplyDeleteYou will never catch me saying an episode is awesome or great because i happen to love a certain show.If an episode or season sucks i say it,i might not like saying it,or to vote that way,but i do.Hell i even fess up in the comment section, when i voted awful for an episode...
ReplyDeleteWould i like to see you have a more favorable opinion on this episode sure, would i like to see you watch it again especially after DarthLocke4 gives you a different way of looking at things definitely....One thing for sue, this is definitely the place where one can express there opinion, and usually (usually) not have to be racked over the coals for it.. :)
I agree some fans say every episode is awesome, but I certainly do not. Maybe 5 or so a year... I am picky and critical! XD
ReplyDeleteI think more movement in the myth arc happened in this one episode than the previous seven this year.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of huge pivotal events that transpired.
Yeah! Plenty of twists!!! Still trying to wrap my mind with all this new info... AMAZING episode!!
ReplyDeleteAn unbelievably awesome episode ...totally worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see Orla Brady - love that she recognised Peter - hope it's not the last we see of her.
ReplyDeleteThe mole??!!
Oh Fringe, why are you so awesome yet so underviewed? why!!!!! This show has become the quintessential underdog.
ReplyDeleteFinally! I've been waiting for an episode as good as this! It confuses me more and more each episode but I love it nonetheless lol. Awesome ending with September and Olivia, though!
ReplyDeleteI was there in theory but only for commercials, and even then I was tweeting for the most part, so I was sorta absent myself this time around. Normally i'd be all fingers in their during commercials, and even during the show itself.
ReplyDeletethis ep restored my faith in the greatness of fringe! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the Olivia & Peter interaction at the beginning, but the end was unnerving.
ReplyDeleteAwesome can't even begin to describe it!
ReplyDeleteLOL John Goodman...how did I miss that?!?! It's so obvious now!
ReplyDeleteDamn, Darth. Another spectacular analysis. Keep cranking them out.
ReplyDeleteWow I swear it was like watching a tennis match with the back and forth twists only a heck of a lot more interesting.
ReplyDeletePoor Linc got forgotten! They are on their way to find DRJ, who knows how long that could take and no one else knew he was there. Poor guy!
ReplyDeleteAre you talking about the awfuls? If it's only two votes, I'm sure it's trolls. Not to worry.
ReplyDeleteI also have been thinking he's in the right place, everybody else is askew.
ReplyDeleteHA! Right? I never knew John had a twin brother,LOL,.. :P
ReplyDeleteI was surprised by that too, they didn't even refer to him in the promo for next week.I imagine he is still handcuffed to the pipe......
ReplyDeleteMaybe he saves Olivianate and Lincolnate?
You always give me great insights, and it always make me think i thank you for that.Talk soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, seeing the way Elizabeth knew it was Peter instantly (after the initial shock of thinking she was being robbed ) was truly beautiful, heartwarming and too brief. The relief on Peters face was plain to see,and yes he was able to experience his mothers love, even it it didn't last long....
ReplyDeleteYep i was,and they must be.Someone and i can't remember who off hand said of the people who did vote that way were the "Shapeshifters" isn't that great! I will forever use that the next time they pull that crap! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree. It was a nice touch to the episode and it seems like Walternate's relationship to her is better, since he isn't the biggest villain 'here'. Peter and his mothers have always been some of the best scenes and this was surely no exception! (It made me all teary-eyed).
ReplyDeleteWill do! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSure. I am glad it's somewhat coherent!! Some times when i go back and reread these things, I get a little made that I couldn't write it better, make it easier to understand. -It makes me re-think too! XD
ReplyDeleteOH me too! and i never would oh thought i would say this but i even like Walternate in this universe! At first when i saw Walternate take out that device i couldn't breath, i thought No this can't be happening, you can't kill Peter, but when he killed the doctor/scientist i was so relieved.
ReplyDeleteI still want to watch it again,it really was an hour filled with so many twists and turns i'm sure i missed a lot.. :0
I am glad that you do comment when you post a negative vote. I wish all the awfulizers would do that, but they seldom do. They "hit and run." I'm perfectly fine with reading a well-thought out critique, negative or positive. If I strongly disagree, I have the opportunity to respond.
ReplyDeleteI only watch TV shows that I love, so I usually vote awesome or great, with an occasional, reluctant, poor, with a comment to explain. If I'm hating a show, I stop watching it, so in that case I don't vote.
The majority of the time i don't vote poor but every once in awhile an episode is bad so hence the awful or poor. In general like you if it's a really bad episode i reach for the trusty remote.:)
ReplyDeleteGreat! I really need to watch all of it again though
ReplyDeleteits been awesome, like it always was
ReplyDeleteGreat episode.
ReplyDelete- How did Olivia not follow up with Peter when he told her she could cross over by herself?
- Bolivia is starting to lighten up a bit. Yay!
- Peter's mom is great, as always.
- Walternate is a good guy? I still don't buy it.
- Alt. Broyles is in cahoots with DRJ? Holy crap.
- Why doesn't September ever show up with good news? LOL
this episode was great best part the return of Jones
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete
