As part of the network’s TCA Press Tour presentation, President of ABC Entertainment Group, Paul Lee, took some time to talk about where things stand with some of their popular and long-running series, how some of their freshman series were received, and their hopes for some of their upcoming programs.
Lee said that the horror thriller The River (premiering on February 7th) is set for only eight episodes, but there is the plan to have it be a long-running series. He is also thrilled with the performance of Once Upon A Time, is optimistic about the future of Pan Am, and said that while they made a good attempt, he doesn’t think they quite breathed life into the Charlie’s Angels franchise through the recent series. And, while he has high hopes for how Cougar Town will play when it returns, Lee is still unsure of when exactly that return will be.

thanks. still want Cougar Town. And I don't see how Pan Am gets a renewal.
ReplyDeleteNice to see that OUAT is highly thought of.
ReplyDeletePan Am is a goner, stop being polite
ReplyDeletethanks. I keeping my hopes for Pan Am!
ReplyDeleteLove OUAT so much and can't wait for The River!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Pan Am is rather dull...I gave it a 3 episode try and feel like those were wasted 3 hours. Glad to hear Grey's is still potentially in it for the long haul though, how about you?
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on with The River, why is there only going to be 8 episodes?
ReplyDeleteI'm still keeping up with Pan Am. It's grown on me. I'm not a super fan or anything. It's one of those shows I watch while doing dishes or folding laundry, if you know what I mean. :P As for Grey's, I've been watching all these years and after a sort of disappointing slump for a couple seasons, the 6th season finale really brought the show back around and I really enjoy it again. I imagine I'll keep on watching for the time being. I don't give up on shows easily. But if it goes on for 15 years like ER, I don't know if I'll stick with it for that whole time. Guess we'll see!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know what you mean haha. And I'm the same way, I don't give up on shows easily either, once I'm invested. Things like Pan Am I can give up on, because it was a new show and it didn't pull me in. Shows like Grey's, I'm in it for the long haul. I don't know if I would keep going if it reached season 15 either, it would depend on how interesting the stories/characters are.
ReplyDeleteyeah. for sure. and sometimes I wait for word of mouth before I try new shows because there are so many and sometimes there are ones that you hear are good and it is surprising. I watch so much TV. :P
ReplyDeleteYay for Once Upon a Time and I really REALLY hope Body of Proof gets a season renewal! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for OuaT! :)
