    really? they market Supernatural as the back of Sam's head, and some guest star vampire? That sucks, and the tagline doesnt even apply for Supernatural, it only applies for Nikita, they could of atleast gotten a picture of the boys firing guns too....

    I wouldn't like a "Supernatural" poster combined with any other show because it intrudes on the show's mythos (and likely that of the other show too). And if it has to be done, how about something better than Stunt Vamp #47?

    I guess they went with using a guest star to promote the show because Supernatural has to regular female characters to stick on a poster.

    What is this fuckery? They make us look like a vampire show. Have the random vampire up front instead of the face of one of the main characters? Screw you CW you are getting worse and worse by every season.

    Okay...I'm happy that the CW is finally doing some promotion but what is that picture for Supernatural?!? People who don't know better would think that Stunt Vampire #47 was the actual lead...

    I would almost prefer no promotional poster to this amateur looking piece of crap! I don't think I've ever seen random GUEST STARS showcased over the stars of a show. Are 12 year olds designing the posters???

    Thinking about it,the choice for the pic isn't entirely crazy..
    Sure,a pic showing the main characters is the obvious choice,but this isn't a poster for an entire season.Its only purpose is to make us excited for one single episode.
    Showing Sam,Dean or both would be great,but it wouldn't say anything as Dean and Sam are in every single episode.Now,a vampire ready to bite Sam is a little more unique.
    To prove my point,go and check out the promotional poster for The Vampire Diaries.Two of the main characters..standing there,looking at each other.And??
    We already know who the show is about..Their goal is to give us a taste of what this particular episode will be about!

    Oh yay - a Supernatural promo poster!! No wonder no one outside the Supernatural fandom knows who Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are. When those boys are finally rich, famous, tv/movie stars (after seasons 8, 9 & 10 of Supernatural), it will be in spite of the cw, not because of them.

    I'm really glad they're actually doing /some/ sort of promotional, but lets face it, this is seriously lame. Seriously, what show uses some random, one episode guest star as their promotional bit??  Not to mention, why would they want to go with a female over the main attraction of the show, two sexy guys???  I mean, all they have to do is have the boys in the pic (visible), and we'd be drooling...  This show isn't exactly known for its sex appeal to (most) men.

    I'm fine with the promo poster.  In fact I am ecstatic they got one.  Yes it features some random guest but it's a picture from the new episode and quite frankly, anyone who already watches Supernatural knows that's Sam's head.  From a promotional standpoint, this works.  Supernatural needs higher ratings, well the whole CW does, and this poster creates excitement.  If a few new people check out Supernatural because the poster looks exciting then it will have done its job.  It may also attract people who left at season 5 because it implies a focus on action.  Besides, Wilson is right.  The only real ratings score on the CW is Vampire Diaries.  I'm surprised not every single poster featured a pasty-skinned 20-something or fangs.

    The idea of promoting a show by NOT including the face of, at least one, lead is puzzling to me.  Plus, unless this week's ep includes a vampire it would seem there'd be a danger of loosing people who're expecting the vampire show the poster implies and changing the channel without giving the show a chance.   But then again...is Supernatural beyond drawing in more than a tiny percentage of new viewers?

    But this could be why I'm not in marketing.

    Though I'm kinda happy that The CW DID make a promo poster for their friday shows... But seriously, what's with the tag line? "... returns with a bang"? - WTH?

    For Nikita, yeah, I get that. (Super psyched about the new ep!)

    But for Supernatural? Uhh... Unless that lady is some hybrid vampire and has fangs that are gonna start popping off bullets any second... I don't get it.

    maybe the bang for SPN is a good shag (I wanted to use another four letter word but thought better of it) with that vamp (a True Blood parody? Yeah, right, the writers aren't that cool, look at the wasted potential that was "Live Free or TwiHard"). Just a thought though.

    I agree - to a certain extent. I just know if I saw that poster and didn't know the show, my response would be "oh great, another Twilight/Vampire Diaries" and I'd be writing it off without even giving it a shot. We all know Supernatural has a wide range of fans, but this to me shows the cw is still targeting the younger audience. I'd like to see them put just a little more effort into .... well ......everything really.

    It's tonight's episode.  Sam is taken by what looks like two women vampires:  This one and a blonde.  There was another man tided up like Sam also.  There is a pic of Dean with a blade facing the blonde.  Dean with a 2/4 coming up behind the dark haired one.  Don't ask me why a piece of wood that wasn't sharp.  I am just saying what was in the promo pics.
