If you're one of the NCIS fans whose 'shipper heart bas been aflutter since that scene between Tony and Ziva this week, you might want to hold on to something: The CBS procedural has cast Entourage star Perrey Reeves to play Wendy, the former fiancée of Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
As we previously reported, Wendy is a quick-witted investigative journalist who'll go to whatever lengths necessary to get her story. But when she bulldozes her way into an NCIS investigation, she's soon reunited with Tony and must relive the emotions of their shared past. Reeves' potentially recurring role launches — fittingly enough — on Valentine's Day.
Tony's former engagement was first revealed in last season's "Baltimore," a flashback-heavy origin story that featured DiNozzo telling his partner that he had proposed to Wendy, a rare sign of commitment from the relationship-challenged Tony.
"Wendy has been mentioned many times over the last couple of years, and now we'll finally get to meet her," executive producer Gary Glasberg tells TVGuide.com. "Wendy needed to possess all the qualities Tony would look for in a woman and then some. ... We hit the jackpot: Perrey has just the right combination of sass, wit, intelligence and pathos to bring 'Baltimore Wendy' to life. Everyone at NCIS is thrilled she's joining us."

This should be interesting!
ReplyDeleteMaybe she'll help Tiva get one step closer to being together.
Interesting. I like seeing into everyone's past.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I just hope Wendy is not another EJ and she will help Tiva to be.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty afraid by Valentine's day though...
I couldnt be more excited... Yay Tony and Wendy!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo to Tony and Ziva!!!!!
The past few years have had some pretty interesting storylines for Tony, but I think it has been to the detriment of some other characters development. I especially liked the political angle of the episodes of this season, they need to keep that going.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking that too, the last few episodes: its very Tony-centric this season. Its got to the point where I'm wondering if they're considering retiring Gibbs and bumping Tony up to centre spot?
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't think they'd ever do that. Mark Harmon's the star of the show!
ReplyDeleteHe's over 60 isn't he? I wouldn't blame him for wanting to retire...
ReplyDeleteNo, just NO. Why the f... do we get all these roadblocks thrown in front of our ship. I AM GETTING SICK AND TIRED OF IT. Is it really that hard NCIS people, to let two characters, who have VERY clearly in love with one another, get together and have their romantically dysfunctional relationship? These two characters, Tony and Ziva, are played by two fantastic actors who have a chemistry together that is like nothing I have ever seen in TV land!!! The character history is so huge that them taking on the challenge of making the relationship work would be a very interesting thing to watch. Also, to all you people talking about it becoming a soap when these two get together because the focus will be on them? NEWSFLASH: the focus is on them already even more so with this whole "let's see how long we can keep them apart before the fans have a cow" shit. And how is a romance a soap, but this whole push pull shit isn't!?
ReplyDeleteAnd don't even get me started on Ray. Not just because I ship Tony and Ziva, but really?! A proposal?! Besides a few dates, some e-mail traffic and one or two weekends, how well do they know each other? He keeps disappearing for his job, doesn't contact her for long periods of time. And don't give me that "It's because of his job, he could be compromised" crap. These days, with all the technology we have, there are a lot of ways to set up something as simple as a pre-ordered present/card/flowers and/or queued e-mail /message (He's f...n CIA people). But he did nothing, not a single thing. Now he just pops up from whatever rock he has been hiding under and proposes?!
(again, THAT sounds more soap opera than a romance between Tony and Ziva.)
I'm still madly in love with the show and will probably ride it till the end because I know Tony and Ziva are end game, but I know there are a lot of fans out there that will stop watching because they are tired of this push/pull crap.
To quote Captain Jack Sparrow: "STOP BLOWING HOLES IN MY SHIP!"
Thank you and good day.
Aaaahhh can't wait to see this!!!
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean -joining us? isn't she a guest appearance? i hope that doesn't mean ziva said yes and now they need to bring relashionship to tony as well
ReplyDeleteI hope she will not be another cock-blocking character. I really wouldn't mind her appearing, but on Valentine's day? and possible recurring? Good thing that they never show our characters in private, so IF she's a recurring, she'll probably be tied to the case. And again Tony gets an episode. I love Tony, but S9 has been Season Tony so far....they need to give McGee or Abby more episodes
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm really excited to see her!
ReplyDeleteWell, Mark did sign his contract extension a few years ago. Not sure how long it was for, though.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry about it. I think Mark is definitely sticking around.
Well this should prove interesting, but jeez I thought Tony was going to take Ziva in his arms, did you see the way he looked into her eyes. There aren't that many times when you see Tony like that,Tony is definitely open to Ziva.It might not happen right now,but i think they will eventually get toghter!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Interesting enough. I get that he needs to work some things out. as long as they don't start dating or something again!
ReplyDeleteYes, Abby needs some air time and I wouldn't mind McGee getting some either
ReplyDeleteThis should be interesting. I can't really think of a theory about what will happen with Tiva until we see if Ziva says yes to Ray. Which would be extremely out of character for her! Seriously, when did she become someone who waits 7 weeks for a guy to call her and then says yes to his proposal? She wanted something permanent, Ray obviously can't give her that! But this could be very interesting! And I don't think Tony would get back together with Wendy because c'mon, if he just realized that he might have those feelings for Ziva ..... Oh no, does this mean she says yes to Ray and Tony gives up?! C'mon Gary Glasberg, DON'T TORTURE ME!! I don't want them together yet but if she gets married and he gets back together with his ex-fiance, it will end up being too soapy when you break them up, that's NOT NCIS!
ReplyDeleteI like Reeves. It'll be nice to see her on something that has nothing to do with Entourage.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's what it means.
ReplyDeleteWhy do they keep torturing us with Tiva only to have a potential fiancee and an ex come into the picture...its been going on for years now I wish they would just put us out of our misery one way or another.
ReplyDeleteah hell, where is P2P when we need him.. Let's get this one out of the way .. so we can get to it already.. I love NCIS but it's time to give these characters some rest.. TIVA OR NOTHING and that is Rachel's Rule #1
ReplyDeleteI'm just remembering what happened in SG1 - Richard Dean Anderson...
