Was Wyman slapping Lost showrunners in the face, just a little bit, with his statement that he gets frustrated with shows that don't answer questions? Is it true that they have always tied up all the loose ends? Is it important that all the ends be tied, I am curious to know more about Mr. X, who purportedly will kill Olivia at some time.
You ask an interesting question about whether or not its important for all the ends to be tied up neatly, I will defend Lost to my dying breath over this because I really do think whilst mysteries and questions were a huge part of the show in the end it was the characters that mattered and seeing what happened with them and their journey for me became more important than answering every question. I feel the same about Fringe, I want a conclusion for the characters but I am happy to have some mysteries still out there for debate years later.
I can't want for the rest of Justified this season, Ava/Boyd are amazing together and adding in Limehouse to the mix should make for some very entertaining TV
- Malcolm McDowell and Louise Lombard on The Mentalist? Cool. - "Let’s just say that we’re going to try and get you satisfying conclusions for all those things that are up in the air." Same old song and dance answer. It's not very comforting for a series under the gun like Fringe. - I'm liking Ellstin Limehouse much more than Neal McDonough's character on Justified. - The Finder has exceeded my expectations. - I forgot about Kathryn's prejudiced mom. That's the most interesting development to come along since the show returned.
I agree with Wyman. I've been burned by shows that don't answer questions but instead just keep adding more questions. I always feel like the show creators don't know where they are going and it leaves me feeling frustrated and manipulated, souring my attitude toward the show. I'm glad they are not planning to do that with Fringe.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the 'exclusive' news on Malcolm McDowell's return to The Mentalist, that was not so exclusively revealed publicly months back.

ReplyDeleteLooks like Ava's got another weird turn coming this season. I kinda like where they've taken her so far. She doesn't take shit from anyone.
