  3. I'm probably in the minority about this but I think that getting to season 9 and 10 is not a good idea. I want them to finish with a bang and leave us wanting more from the Winchesters...

As much as I love genre shows, I feel like they can't go on forever like procedural shows because they are always trying to push the envelope and going seasons and seasons on end doesn't lend itself so well to that format.

  4. haven't watched New Girl yet but I'll def. check out Dermot Mulroney's episode ..

"Gabriel Mann told me he lobbies all the time for Nolan and Ashley to get together"
    hmm ... Now that's interesting!

  6. Lots of good stuff in there, thanks!

  7. SPN could certainly go on for many seasons yet

-good ratings considering its on a Friday
-the cast and crew are willing to continue
-there is plenty of story left to tell
-the show makes money from syndication, international sales and DVD sales etc

There are plenty of reasons for them to renew and well is anyone really ready for it to be over?

Good scoop on Cas, figured he had some kind of amnesia and that Sam would be going to the nut house. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

  8.  I agree with your points completely and I can't understand why anyone who enjoys the show would want to terminate it.

What would be the point, how can re-running old episodes over and over be better than having a new one every week?

In the case of the CW,  why would they end a show that they know gets a steady rating on a Friday, to throw themselves into the unknown territory of a new show that would give them no guarantees of getting better ratings than Supernatural.

The actors are the same age as the characters they play so there is no "getting too old to play a teen" problem as there was in Smallville, and as there will be in "The Vampire Diaries," for isn't the younger brother supposed to be 17 for ever?

Then Jensen are Jared seem to pay close attention as to how their characters are used, and try as much as possible to keep them credible, writers allowing.

All in all the series has unlimited scope  for continuing if actors, ratings and CW come together, and I hpe it continues for as long as possible, especially now , as we seem to have discovered a new writer who is spot-on with the boys' characters!

  11. In many ways I agree but as long as there is an audience no matter how small I think they'll continue to capitalise on the show and as long as they keep making it I'll keep watching it. Even if it mostly for Jared and Jensen more for the storylines these days.

Personally while I think the show could go on for many years for the reasons I've already stated I feel like I would like one final season after this. I kinda just want Sam and Dean to get one final season where they arent depressed or broken, maybe they can finally have some fun? A little less angst and a lot more ass kicking. I dont want the show to end on a downer, if it ended this season I cant see there being a happy ending, but maybe thats just me?

  12. We can't really compare with Smallville, since Smallville was a prequel so they had no choice but to go in circle and couldn't past the point of becoming Superman at the end

But SPN can create new stories and keep going

  13. :P I'm wishing at least for a S9 so they can be filming when I'll go to the VanCon 2013

  14. Looking forward to ouat and TVD.

David and Mary are so cute and I'm psyched to see if Tyler manages to free himself from being sired. And Stefan finds out about the Delena kiss? No wonder he punches Damon! Ohh Stef you say you don't care but your feelings betray you love. ;) can't wait!!

  15. As long as the guys are willing to go on, I sure am.  Sure a couple of eps a season suck, but for me, most I rewatch many times.  The only ones I really hate are anything with Ghostfacers in it..

  16. Castiel coming back with his powers is not what I was hoping to hear but the idea that the head of the CW is talking about Supernatural for "many, many years" sounds sweet indeed.

  17.  I don't know where you live but the USA network is having a White Collar marathon today.

  18. Yes, a ray of sunshine on a dreary rainy day here.  SPN as long as the guys are willing.

I really do want Cas to fix Sam, he caused the problem and he is the one that needs to do something about it.  I think,if he does fix Sam it will be to redeem himself to Dean.

  19. I don't know why i bother, the question regarding who is coming back to American Horror Story Kristen says there is no word yet.Wasn't she a the GG? Is she a total space cadet?Everyone knows Jessica Lang is considering it,granted its not a given but she could of put it in there.

  20. yep, that's how I feel, I think a should leave on their own terms and go out with a bang (and not a whimper or get pulled mid-season and leave the fans with no resolution).

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, I wouldn't like it to SV rather to say Charmed or such shows where it was a premise of its own but in the end the storylines just dragged on and on until it limped to its series finale.

    ReplyDelete
  22. They should have finished at S5! The idea of a 9 or 10 season just no.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I have no problem imagining Supernatural reaching season 10. Other shows do it, and do it well. (Not many, admittedly, but not many shows have the combination of cast, crew, writing staff, and fans like Supernatural does). Every show has episodes that suck out loud, and our show is not immune, but there is still so much untapped story potential out there to be explored. We've got some great 'newer' writers on board (Robbie Thompson, Acker & Blacker) and if J & J are willing to carry on, then I say go for it. :)

  24. True but sadly, I feel like this going on for seasons is bad for the show because at some point the Winchesters have to ride into the sunset and I for one want it to be after a fantastic run of seasons and not just limp to the finale. By limping I mean, having so-so seasons and then trying to finish with a bang.

And as with aging tv shows-- the ratings become less and less because it is not interesting for the causal viewer and possibly some of the more hardcore fans move on to something else. Obviously, everyone connected to the show wants it to go on as much as possible but I can't see it going passed the 8th or 9th season...and stretching it to say 10th season.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yep, my thoughts exactly. I feel like if they go and on then there will be so-so episodes/seasons and then eventually they'll try for a bang but it won't be satisfactory.

  26. I agree with you, Carry on Wayward Son(s), and to the people that want it to end, that is what the channel changer is for.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh yeah. I definitely think that the CW and WB will want to go as many seasons as possible and ultimately I think that it will be a casting decision ie Jared and Jensen will make the call to sign up for more or not. I don't see them signing passed what they have for the eighth season.

That is a tall order :) I so wish that they could do that but I highly doubt that the writers would do that. They've sort of gone back to the carefreeness of S1 but that aspect I think they will never return to. I dearly WISH of it but it will never happen :(

  28. Every week she has so many Glee questions. She probably answers so many since she such a fangirl. oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree with you to some extent. I know people who have finished watching SPN with S5 because of many reasons, one of which is because they felt that in S5 the story arc from S1 had ended and that was it for them.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I continued with the show into S6 but damn I just hated how its become a complete let's shit on Dean and Sam fest. Like they can never catch a break its reached a level of being both ludicrous and boring now. I know they can't have an apple pie life but does it have to be this depressing?

    ReplyDelete
  31. so that means blair is staying with loui and no more chuck and blair :( NOOO

    ReplyDelete
  32. I know!! That is why I wasn't so against S6 because I figured after a few episodes investigating where Sam was in hell, etc they would go back to the standalones and the boys just hunting but it didn't happen. And while I said it during S5 now with S7-- where can you go after the Levi SL?!

  33. Thank you, always good to get something about OUAT.
