  1. Maybe Lori, since we heard she's not staying. Thanks!

  2. uh-oh. that doesn't sound good. probably Lori since they haven't added her to the opening despite being a regular.

  3. Didn't we have information that it would be Chin Ho's ass on the line?

  4. It doesn't say someone does lose their job...it just says the governor "tells" one of them they will. this leaves a lot of room for possibilities....

  5. Please be Lori!! Please be Lori!!!

  6. really curious to know who's going to "pay with their job"...
    better not be lovely Max

  7. Hope it's Lori... I remember reading that Chin does something, but hey, Lori's meant to be leaving, and she's not really doing her 'babysitting' job properly so the Gov might get angry for her not doing what she was meant to be doing and get sacked. I hope!!

  8. The Governor assigned her to Five-0 so if she's going to be removed from the team the Governor is going to have to do it.

  9. That doesn't mean much.  It took forever for House to change its title sequence once they hired new series regulars.

  10. My guess that is that it's either Lori or Max..

  11. For sure. But they added Masi Oka at the start of the season and didn't add her.

  12. Which is odd (and annoys me) because German's character is in every episode and Masi Oka's isn't.

  13. they cant really fire chin or kono without a lengthy process cos theyre from hpd, same goes with danny. and without steve there will be no five-o team. if they fire any of the main four, people will have opinions about it

  14. I bet its Lori, there new tv ad just shows the four of them,if Lori was becoming a regular she would of been included.

  15. Well it's something to do with the Russians so purely it will be McGarrett again.  Or if it's from the previous episode possibly Danno

  16. Exactly my point, sir. They must have left her off for some reason and maybe this episode is it.

  17. where did you hear that she's not staying?

  18. after watching the new cbs promo called- 4 reasons to watch H5-0- i have a feeling it's Lori since she's not even mentioned in this clip- although we could see her in a photo from 216 behind the scenes

  19. I honestly hope that's not the case.  The problem isn't the character, it's the writing.  Hawaii Five-0 writes terribly for women.  Kono is just as boring and lifeless of a character as Lori but doesn't get the grief from fans since she's an original cast member.

Hawaii Five-0 needs better writing for women, not more cast changes.

  20. no argument here. in fact, I don't understand the backlash from fans Lori gets. I actually kind of like her, even if she is a little lifeless.

  21. While obviously I can't speak for all fans who dislike Lori, I know that for a lot of people the issue was how much they tried to force us to like her.  Her character was sort of shoved down our throats and they turned her into a total Mary Sue.  It was sort of like "Look how hot Lori is! Look, she's smart!  Look, she's funny and all the Five-0 guys are in awe of her awesomeness!  Look, she's bad-ass, too!" etc.  She was like a poorly written fanfic OC.  And when someone practically shoves something down your throat, you're likely to react the OPPOSITE of the way they want.  They gave her a lot of screen time right off the bat, too, which pissed off fans who were tuning in to see Danno and Steve and Chin and Kono, not this new character.  People felt that she was taking valuable screen time from the core four, and ruining opportunities for interaction between the main two when she was partnered with Steve or Danny.  The character is boringly-written, without much depth or even usefulness (she's supposed to be a profiler, but her "insights" on cases don't qualify as profiling so much as stating the obvious).  Personally I think the actress who plays her isn't the best possible choice, either.  She's sort of wooden and forced, IMO.  Maybe it's partly the material, but I've seen some actors in other shows work with less and still make it interesting just through their acting.  So you've got a vaguely Mary Sue-esque character who is shoved in your face, introduced suddenly and without tact, is given lots of screen time without giving the audience a chance to accept her first, and a lot of people not nuts about the actress playing the character.  That all adds up to a lot of people feeling resentful about the character.  Had they added her gradually, built her up from an interesting side character to a character people were invested in, I think it might have worked better.  But as it is, I think even now if you gave her the most epic backstory ever, people would still not really like her.  There's too much resentment now.  *shrug*

Just what I've seen on other forums/in other discussions.  This seems to be the consensus among a lot of Five-0 fans who are NOT Lori fans (myself included!).

  22. Fair enough. I guess I didn't see her as coming in and taking over the screen as much as some others did. But I understand.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm with you.  I don't see it either.  From my perspective, they haven't done anything with Lori that they didn't already try with Kono.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think it might be Lori cause she is not mentioned in the press release for 2.17.
