In a word, no.
At Tuesday’s New York premiere of her action-comedy One For the Money (opening Friday), the actress told TVLine that the olive branch she extended to her old stomping ground via E! Online has not yet been accepted.
“I haven’t been approached about it [yet],” Heigl said. “But who knows? You never know.
“If they want me to return for an arc, I would love to know where Izzie is now,” she added. “It’s been a couple of years. I really hope she’s succeeding somewhere.”

but this doesn't mean she wont come back at all, it just means she wont come back anytime soon... so sad :(

ReplyDeletei was kinda hoping she would make and appearence in the final episodes of the season, i mean alex hasn't had a good storyline ( a love storyline) for a while now and i thought Izzie could be his new storyline :(

ReplyDeleteI dunno, Heigl being so in the open about it, makes me think that she's trying to force public opinion to force Shonda's hand. Not that I see anything wrong with it, mind you, but I think that Shonda got royally disappointed on Heighl when she left, so I don't see her "wanting" her back.

ReplyDeleteShonda said a year ago ( when she wanted to kill Izzie off screen, and then changed her mind) that she was open to see her again, so maybe that still means something....

ReplyDeleteI'm not too keen on her coming back if I'm honest, but I'd kind of like to have an idea of what she's up to. Maybe like Meredith or someone gets into contact with her and we find out how her life is going.

ReplyDeleteThe only reason i wanted her to come back was because of Alex.I think he needs this in order for him to move on.Alex hasn't had a good relationship since Lizzie,so i was hoping she would come back even for a few episodes,for him.

ReplyDeleteI'm not even sure she's been that 'open' about it. Katherine probably gets asked about returning to Grey's in every single interview she does. And since shes doing press junkets for One For the Money she has to say nice things about Grey's. I doubt she seriously expects there to be an offer and it would probably interfere with the movies she's got lined up anyway.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad she probably won't be back. I got tired of Izzie after season 4 (or was it 3?), as she became whiny and frustrating - and I understand some people want her relationship with Alex to get some closure, but I don't think they could end happily with the history between them. Poor Alex just needs to be happy for once, and I don't think bringing Izzie back into the equation will accomplish that. For me, her character is played out, and I don't need to see her reappear. The one exception to that would have been the AU episode, I suppose.

ReplyDeleteI'm relieved. I have no idea about what Izzie might be doing now... but I definitely am pretty sure about not wanting her on my tv screen any time soon. Alex needs to recover from the awful way she broke their marriage and MOVE ON!
ReplyDeleteThey have a really easy built in storyline if they ever needed to get Alex off the show. I mean they harvested and fertilized Izzy's eggs with Alex's sperm when she was fighting the cancer. All they have to do is have her come back and
