Fringe - Season 4 - Joshua Jackson previews Peter’s emotional journey

Thanks to vargesz for the heads up.

“As we find [Peter] at the beginning of the next episode, he’s kind of taking a Hail Mary pass and see him [approaching] the one man that he really, really doesn’t want to deal with, which is Walternate, and we see him going through the [motions] to try to convince Walter and Walternate and basically anybody to try to help him get back to his world,” Fringe series star Joshua Jackson previewed when we caught up with him earlier this week.

But if you read our own preview of the first new episode of 2012, “Back to Where You’ve Never Been,” you already knew that. So what we really wanted to get Jackson to weigh in on were the developments at the end of the episode. Primarily how what he learns about Walternate (John Noble) will affect the baggage he has, moving through these two new strange and foreign universes, as well as how what the audience learns about Olivia (Anna Torv) will come into play with Peter and his quest to go home.

  2. I love how involved Joshua Jackson is in the peter character. Some actors seem like they dont care what happens to the character as long as they have screen time.

  5. Wow.  An observer is going to bust out his crystal ball for Olivia?  That's definitely interesting.  The return of Orla Brady is nice too.

  6. I think that the majority of actors on Fringe feel similarly about their characters.

  10. I thought the observer was going to tell Olivia that what peter has been saying since he came back is true and that they really do not remember him** But NOW,we learn that my dear friend is going to tell Olivia her destiny? What is her destiny anyway? To die?To live by herself? To save the world and then die?
To destroy the machine after both worlds have been fixed so they never cross paths again?

    **P.S.(They DON'T REMEMBER HIM.How could they.He never existed).So I'm
beginning to think that this isn' a different timeline but they just
don't remember him but they will!--

  11. Am i the only one who think Walternate will be 2 times worst than the red!verse Walter? I mean in our dimension {if you call it this way with the theory orange!verse is not reset} Walternate develops technology to start  a war and destroy the other side and Peter was alive and well imagine here that Peter dies . What is he capable to do? I think the whole story in the end will be Peter Vs Walternate . I mean that was the whole deal in the future he wanted to change.

He choose a side red!verse is gone Walternate is still on. And eventually kills Olivia. So Peter goes back in order to change things but The Observers are there. And thats the confusing part. Is it a full reset? Is it a new dimension?

And if not. Olivia's destiny is always to die? Peter wise universe or not? Or things can change and Peter is the one to die to fix the damage cause here he is dead and still the story is keep going with both sides to deal with it.

I think is confusing more than you accept.

  12. But remember - Walternate only found out about the multi-verse, Peter being alive and in the other universe when little Olive stumbled across with her pictures AFTER Peter found her in the tulips: This DIDN'T happen in this timeline, so there must be another reason for the 'war' starting. Until that happened they just thought he'd been kidnapped by some weird look-alike. Also, Walternate was in a stupor of alcohol until discovering the truth, so, again, some other trigger must've happened.
