It seems obvious an yet he's believed her before. I though her little lie about not doing anything to jeopardize Peter's chances of getting Walternate to help him get home were pretty paper thin but he believed her... I think he wants to trust her, to believe that she's more like his Olivia than she really is. I think as things go on and Peter becomes a morestable part of the Fringe team in this TL we'll see him getting almost comfortable even though it's so very clear this isn't where he belongs.
I doubt Peter believes that "no." The look on her face tells a completely different story than her words. She looks like a doctor just told her she has six weeks to live.
He definitely knows it's BS... I don't know what it will take for Olivia to open up, but he's not going to like the news. Knowing that no matter what he does she will die must be hard to digest considering what he's done to correct that!
Peter gets she is lying but the thing is im not sure if he will persue her for more. It's not his Olivia in his eyes is an Olivia from another timeline but i think if they bother to make Peter being in this conversation then he will find out eventually what the observer said to her. I think people judge Olivia for not telling him but even if it is indeed a new timeline this Olivia is different . Imagine if the Olivia we knew for 3 years had trust issues this one has double trust issues . She is not open book to read and likes to keep people in distance thats why her meeting with Peter when they were kids was more than important to her . Here she never met him and never went back to ask help from walter so i assume her stepdad didn't stopped his ways with her and eventually nothing stopped her from killing him. Am i also the only to think the trigger of her being wake to her abilities is this? Fear of dying eventually? This Olivia didn;t turn her fear to anger but again she doesnt seem so further emotional like our Olivia was so maybe that will make the case?
well, Peter does know her pretty well at this point atleast a version of her, he's gonna know when your lying...not to mention he is a conman which is a job that in order to survive you have to be able to read people, but then again....He didn't pick up on the whole from another universe thing all that time in season 2...this does seem a bit more easy to tell though, so have faith.
I'd say she just doesn't confide in Peter because she doesn't want to make a big deal out of it, she doesn't want to gather everyone else's attention. Our Olivia (the original one) never liked to be a protagonist, to be a victim, so I assume that's a common treat of their personalities. I'm not sure she thinks Peter would go to the extreme of suspending his efforts to get to his Olivia and his timeline just to help her, or that he can help her, for that matter.
But you might be right and it might turn out to be the catalyst for their getting closer (because I assume he'll find out eventually during the episode).
oh he knows she's lying. the way he watches her afterward, he doesn't want to push this Olivia.. i think he realizes she'll just clam up, but i'm positive he's plotting a way to get her to tell him the truth..
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeletelying to peter, how sad. i thought they had come so far.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Olivia lied to him because she was afraid he'd put his efforts to find a way home aside in order to find a way to help her.
ReplyDeletePoor Olivia... It's a big news to digest!
