Well, that was a brilliant episode, was it not? I was left speechless by "Back to Where You've Never Been!" And I'm sure many of you were just as impressed! So, where do you think this is heading? We're still being pulled along like Peter with this mystery shape-shifter story, since it keeps Peter in the middle of a fight that isn't his, but I just became very interested in the outcome of that plot! I was waiting for Walternate to lock up and/or kill Peter the entire episode, and yet the opposite happened. Peter's mother was incredible, and her love for her son never ended on that cold day so long ago! A fierce and powerful mother, indeed! The twist with Mr. Jones and Broyles (Or Broyles' replacement?) and September being shot(!!!) and telling Olivia she must die just threw me off altogether! What a whirlwind!

Now, as announced by DarkUfo earlier on the FRINGE FRIDAY post, Mr. Robert O'Donnell is our winner for the FRINGE FRIDAY GIVEAWAY! You should be notified via your email! Congratulations!
Onto the final part of business: The ratings. After so much effort on the part of fans to rally and come back with a bang, I must say I'm very upset with the outcome. @MaskedScheduler is pretty disappointed as well. If we hope to continue our show's storyline, then we need to find a way to get these ratings up! It IS still possible! At the very least I hope that the buzz surrounding this episode piques interest and perhaps next week's episode will be higher. Either way, I don't consider this one a win, folks. We didn't quite bring it this time.
A valiant effort Wilson.
ReplyDeleteShame FOX themselves didn't put this much work into promotion.
I emailed 3 of their publicity team yesterday with a link to you post asking that they promote it on their FB or Twitter accounts.
Not one of them even bothered to reply.
And these are the people in charge of Fringe Publicity. No wonder it's doomed :(
Yeah, it's a mixed bag for me. I was so very happy with the episode, but the ratings killed the buzz.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon! With friends and fans like these I'm surprised we haven't overthrown the people in charge of promotion and started our own rule. Having said that, aside from the online, twitter, facebook, etc. promotion, at least they're being fairly generous with Fringe on tv. I see Fringe commercials fairly often on FOX, and it's usually during the last 20 minutes of a show--which reminds people at the end of the episode to watch Fringe. I am just hesitant to hate on FOX for something that is mainly reliant on people with Nielsen boxes...
ReplyDeleteBest Episode Ever!
ReplyDeleteit was Brilliant
We united and fought the good fight but so many of us aren't in the US so our support doesn't count. Thanks for all your hard work though.
ReplyDeleteI thought for sure ratings would be up. It's a sick let down. Can only hope things will be better next week. Maybe it has something to do with Fri.13. My computor started screwing up yesterday, and I wanted to rewatch the episode at a friends today. And his system had screwed up he only got the last 10 min.
ReplyDeleteBroadcast TV is so antiquated, this IS the 21st century, we can even watch live TV on phones for crying out loud...isn't there a better (read more accurate) way to determine viewership yet?.
ReplyDeletewell that's it then - we're cancelled....
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but you can't keep blaming it on various stuff: Valentine's Day, Baseball, Friday the 13th, veterans day, november 11th of '11 etc...
I love Fringe, it's my most favorite show on air right now, so after it's done- I'm done with TV: no starting new TV-Shows cause it's just not worth anymore attaching yourself to something only to get your heart basically ripped out
It's such a shame that the ratings didn't go up :/ It was a great episode, with a great ending and I am sure that the rest of the season will be even better - I don't want the series to end on a cliffhanger! :(
ReplyDeleteNielsen list Fringe is one of the top ten most time-shifted programs in the United States, next to cable shows. That does count for something in the stats.
ReplyDeleteIn Canada, it's not on a national network, but Nielsen do count the time-shifts from your neighbours to the north.
Fringe is basically my only regret about not having at TV, so I could at least add one more viewer to live ratings.
ReplyDeleteGreat campaign and congrats to the winner Robert!
ReplyDeleteThat episode was awsome
ReplyDeleteCongrats Robert! Nice going....... :)
ReplyDeleteWilson,i think you did a great job in putting this together yesterday,i had a really nice time, thanks
ReplyDeleteagain.. :)
Do you have any of that strawberry milkshake left? HA! :)
ReplyDeleteThis saddens me also. THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON TV!! I have huge issues because i am unable to support it myself :(. I HAVE to watch online to continue watching it because of college classes during it and work. That isn't fair! Do they not take that into consideration?!! IT TICKS ME OFF!!!
ReplyDeletei never thought of that Broyles could be a shape shifter
