Bob Greenblatt has just promised at TCA that Community is definitely going to return later this spring and that it's not been cancelled.
Fourth season decision will be made nearer to the upfronts in May, Chairman says. It depends on what fails.
I haven't watched the show for some time (only due to lack of time), and having caught up today with a marathon of five episodes, I have to say -- this show is brilliant and needs to stick around (not that we didn't know that before). Can't wait for its return.
Of course Community will be back. The question is whether they'll be back to finish the rest of the season or burn-off the last episodes of the series.
The rest of what Bob Greenblatt said during the session was almost hinting to this being the last season of the show. Said also things that hinted to that either Whitney, Up All Night or Are You There Chelsea? must fail for Community to live another season. He also said that the viewers wont go up for Community, so it`s a hard show to keep.
Laura Prepon is sexy, Whitney Cummings (what a name) is only funny when it comes to straight up stand-up, not f TV. I would have Whitney go first also.
I really hope Whitney takes the nose dive in ratings that it should do, since it's no longer following the office. Hey NBC! why don't you stick Community after The Office and see what happens? You only did it for the pilot and it was their best ratings!
I do hope Up All Night survives cause i do enjoy that show!
Thanks for the news. I hate the blahness that NBC seems to have about the show--hopefully spring will get here soon! It is amazing and honestly people who don't watch don't get what they're missing.
Honestly, I don't see this as a big win (unfortunately). We're still in a weirdly indeterminate hiatus period, it's just very SLIGHTLY more determinate. And depends on what fails? Whitney and that new Handler show have already failed just by existing.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I figured that was the case, but they better not cancel it after this season!
ReplyDeleteDuh! Now, I have to start watching again. I love Joe McHale. He is the only reason my TV ever sees the E! station. (sorry Handler/Kardashians).
ReplyDeleteWell i think we all knew that right or they would have stopped production but it is nice to know it will be Spring rather than a summer burn off
ReplyDeleteThank goodness.. I wish they wouldn't be so "blah" about the whole thing.. I think this show is one of the most underrated comedies on television
ReplyDeleteGood to hear...I guess. :)

ReplyDeleteI don't care id Community Rules of engagement's his way through time, I just want it on air!
ReplyDeleteThere was never a doubt for me but GLORIOUS NEWS nonetheless.
ReplyDelete6 seasons and a movie!
ReplyDeleteI really, really want them to have a fourth season.

ReplyDeleteWell then, sorry Laura Prepon but your show needs to die. xD (I'd prefer it to be Whitney but apparently NBC can't see it's shitness.)

Thanks! And YAAAAYYYYYY! I hope there will be another season also!
ReplyDeletewell, thats a start.. and now, we wait....
ReplyDeleteWe knew it was coming back, but what does he mean by "what fails?"
ReplyDeleteReally hope it gets picked up for one more season, although that looks pretty unlikely. Getting a complete four seasons would be nice.
