The sci-fi crime drama opened to 10 million viewers and a 3.3 rating among adults 18-49 in its two-hour premiere. That’s up 6 percent from the debut of Terra Nova in the slot and far better than the performance of Lie to Me on the evening last January.

Good news and that is what i thought it would do.Now all they need to do is tweak a few things and we might actually have a solid show on our hands!
ReplyDeleteHaha. I was right on the poll. No way!
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't bode well for Terra Nova
ReplyDeleteYes we like, who likes?
ReplyDeleteI thought its total viewers number may be a bit higher , but a 3.3 to 3.5 was about the best to be hopes for I think.
ReplyDeleteI am still not sure it's a lock to be renewed at this point much like Terra Nova I guess.
Few network series this year were solid locks for me I guess. Person of Interest, Unforgettable, Once Upon a Time. Comedies were even less obvious with 2 Broke Girls being the only solid lock to me . Suburgatory is close, but I just don't feel as sure I guess.
Hopefuly, they won`t screw it up by moving it to Thursdays. That would be a very sad deja vu.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't feeling it last night and did not finish the 1st hour. Much like Terra Nova in that I am not sure I want to hook on a show that won't return and also like a novel if it doesn't grab my interest in the first chapter I likely won't finish the book.
ReplyDeleteThe New Girl's another lock.
ReplyDeleteIt did better than I thought, waiting for the half hour break downs want to see if there was a significant drop over the two episodes.
ReplyDeleteHA! Yep i would be.But you know, since Idol does so well if Alcatraz was in that time slot on Thursday it might do really well?
ReplyDeleteTrue. I guess I hated it so much I forgot to list it? XD
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly, this is the exact rating that the 2-hour Fringe series premiere in 2008. Which arguably means to get that rating now is relatively better, but otherwise, I hope that the ratings stay around that level...That would be awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteAha, I thought I was the only one :P
ReplyDeleteit was really good I thought, I love how JJ puts a mystery into the first 2 episodes that will stretch over the series!
ReplyDeleteExcellent to have the actual numbers, that's not too shabby!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Good news! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not really surprised about the ratings of Alcatraz.
ReplyDeleteIt is after all a pilot episode, and a lot of viewers would have been curious to see what it was like, but if all 100% of those viewers aren't convinced by the episode, then next week there could be a big fall.
I'm no expert but the rating seems good, though not exceptional.
In fact your title "Off to a Solid Start" could be translated as "Not Too Bad, Not Too Good."
By next week things will become clearer.
However I wish it well.
From what I saw all 4 half hour breakdowns were similar if not identical....
ReplyDelete:D Good news! Hope everyone hangs on!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I expected, I hope it doesn't suddenly dip next week as I enjoyed it to my surprise
ReplyDeleteI was off, thankfully. I had guessed 5 or 6 million.
ReplyDeleteWell yeah...didn`t see that. Thanks for clarifying it for me.
ReplyDeleteAfter i wrote that,i keep thinking Hell,if Fringe was on Wed.or Thrus. night after Idol we wouldn't be worried about ratings,or not having a 5th season. If only we could convince the mucky mucks at Fox,they could have another 2 hits on there hands....
