If only White Collar could switch return dates with the CBS comedy line-up. The 17th still seems so far away. I wonder if Peter is going to finally take a swing at Neal. No one messes with Elizabeth and gets away with it, even if they never meant to put her in harm's way. However, I am most concerned about Mozzie. He'll stay to help Elizabeth since she is the person with whom he has the biggest bond outside of Neal of course. Still there is no way to untangle him from the treasure heist. Mozzie isn't leaving the show so he has to get immunity somehow but that doesn't seem in Peter's nature.
AngryPeter is going to rip Neal a new one. If there is anytime Peter will snap in this show, this is the episode. I can't wait to see his confrontation with Neal. I hope he gives Neal hell if only because the scene would be riveting. Then of course, I hope their relationship gets back on track quickly. I like ti best when Peter, Neal, and Mozzie are on the same side.
Right now, I am very peeved at Mozzie, the pressure he's been putting Neal under (betray one friend or the other) is immense, and he doesn't even seem to realise! I can't wait to see how they work it out. I reckon Peter may finally take a swing at Neal, but I reckon the true test of their relationship will be what happens after Elizabeth is back (because she is coming back. She is!). I reckon we are looking at a bumpy road ahead, but I really hope they can work their way back to some semblance of their former partnership.
I know people found Mozzie tiring over the summer but he's still my favorite character. I honestly think he believed that taking off with the treasure was best for Neal. Sometimes it is hardest for the people closest to us to see that our needs have changed, especially when our own have not. In the end, I still believe Mozzie is the most important friend Neal has ever had and that he is still more vital to Neal's well-being than even Peter.
Darnit, would've have replied to this days ago if hotmail hadn't sent the notification email to my spam folder, which it does randomly whenever it feels like it! *shakes fist ineffectually*
Mozzie has never been my favourite character, but I've always liked him. I actually still like him despite my irritation, because I'm fairly certain he'll come through. I'm still not 100% he believed that taking off with the treasure was best for Neal, or rather, I do think he thought it would be best for Neal, but I think he was thinking about what was best for Mozzie more, which is what made me so peeved with him. He either can't see, or chooses not to see that he's putting Neal in an untenable position (as you said, it is hardest for the people closest to us to see that our needs have changed, especially when our own have not), so I'm going to be cross about that whether or not he had Neal's best interests at heart.
I'm also not sure about his friendship being more vital to Neal than Peter's. I actually think that their respective friendships are of equal importance to Neal, but in different ways (I think Neal depends on Mozzie to back his play, but he actually trusts Peter in a way that he just can't trust Mozzie, because of both their characters), which is why the position that he's in is so impossible.
I really can't wait to see where the writers are going to go with this in January, because the way they have it set up, I just can't figure out how they're going to the figure it all out and tie up all the loose ends. I have faith though: they've rarely led us wrong before, and all the previews I've been seeing have only served to make me more excited! :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
