The Walking Dead - Sarah Wayne Callies Interview

"The Walking Dead" is based on the Robert Kirkman comic book of the same name. AMC's hit zombie series has just ended the first half of its second season. And along the way, it has strayed from its source material.

Sarah Wayne Callies, who plays Lori Grimes, insisted that this was the best and perhaps only way to go, for several different reasons.

"The first answer is that it would be a disservice to the fans if they knew what's coming in every frame of the show because they know what came in every frame of the comic," said Callies, whose character represents one third of the show's central love triangle, which also includes her husband, Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and his best friend, Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal). "I think that would bore them. Also, I was hired to be an actor. I wasn't hired to do my best impression of a drawing.

  2. It's interesting to read the whole of the interview: she is playing Lori with full notion that the baby could be Shane's. Leaving the door open for future twists, she's a wise actress.
