BIRTHDAYS AND GOOD-BYES --- Although Caroline (Candice Accola) is in no mood to celebrate her 18th birthday, Elena (Nina Dobrev), Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Matt (Zach Roerig) surprise her with a small party in an unusual location. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) disagree on the best way to handle Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and a reckless Stefan decides to test his theory by taking things to dangerous extremes. Bonnie is concerned when Elena tells her about Jeremy's (Steven R. McQueen) new plans. At a Founder's meeting, Alaric once again runs into Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey Devitto), who is in the middle of an argument with her ex-boyfriend, the medical examiner (guest star David Colin Smith). Tyler (Michael Trevino) refuses to go along with Klaus' latest demand, and is surprised when Klaus seems to accept his decision. Wendey Stanzler directed the episode written by Rebecca Sonnenshine (#311).

    Everything in the synopsis seems pretty good to me except for the part about Jeremy.  I don't want to see him regress to the way he was in season one.  He was grating and hard to watch.

    Aw, Caroline.  Hopefully there will be some good Tyler & Caroline scenes, they're my favourite.

    Well, the episode is called "Birthdays and Good-byes" and we know that a character is planning on taking off from Mystic Falls (as per Zap2it).

    My guess is Jeremy is planning on leaving town.

    I love how they manage to mix teen birthday drama and Original family drama in the same episode. TVD is such an intense fun show, can't wait to see Stefan and his 'dangerous extremes' and Dr. Fell should be good especially if they can have a scene of Alaric introducing his new 'friend' to Stefan.
