Terra Nova - Season 1 Finale - Ratings News

Dec 20, 2011

The Season Finale of Terra Nova saw 7.18 Million viewers with a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 range.

Not sure those will be enough for Fox to give it another Season, although we probably won't know for a while as FOX sees how their other new shows perform. eg The Finder, Alcatraz and Touch etc

  1. For a night full of repeats this is not good.

  2. I really hope it does get renewed, It'd be nice for a change to see a show given a chance and not just cancelled as soon as it doesn't perform in the way the network wants it too, all these good ideas for shows going to waste as they only end up with 1 season!

  3. To be honest I don't think it should get another chance it ruined a good idea with poor storylines and bland characters. How you can make a dinosaur show boring is actually a pretty impressive talent!

  4. I know it will sound as blasphemy for many... but having Steven Spielberg somehow tied to a project is - nowadays - like stamping the word "waisted chance" on it.

I've also tried Falling Skies and it also looks cheap, boring and deja vu.

  5. Yes Falling Skies was just as bland, I think networks are going for 'safe' sci-fi rather than something that isn't afraid to call itself a sci-fi show and take risks in the storytelling.

  6. I enjoyed the show, but it seems so surface.  It lacks depth.  I do hope it gets renewed and the writers provide delve more into the characters, make them more multidimensional, and make the storylines more intriguing.  However, I do appreciate having a family friendly show on TV.

  7. One of my problems with both shows is that they are just too clean.

In Terra Nova, they are from the future, but it is a frontier town.  There should be more dust and dirt.  People have either been grimy or pristine, not much in between.

In Falling Skies, almost everyone is perfectly clean in freshly laundered cloths.  Yet, they don't have electricity or running water...

  8. Oh thank you! I tought it was just me. I mean FREAKING DINOSAURS Y'ALL, but the show got me constantly spacing out because it wasn't really engaging, and beyond the setting, it started to look trite and derivative and shallow.

I miss SGU, at least it tried to thread new ground somehow :/And it's not I gave out on the show, I just kind of stop watching and didn't think too much about i.t

  9. Dinosaurs should always be fun seriously I know they have a TV budget to work with but they could have done something better with the money I'm sure of it

  11. Cancel it and renew Fringe instead. if the choice is between these two my choice is quickly made :)

  12. I think they should give show another chance for season 2, I mean they spent a lot of money to set this up, if they get the same amount of money (or somewhere near) for next season, it could be noticeably better because they don't need to build anything from scratch, they already have everything. Because of this second season could concentrate more on action, special effects and better script.
