  1. Ugh, this sucks.

And if we had to have a January repeat, why couldn't it be the day of Chuck's series finale so I wasn't torn between the two? I'm already trying to figure out what I should do that day!

  2. does the same go for Nikita on the 20th?

  3. According to Laura, from AOL, Nikita won't air at all: :(

  4. Booo but thanks thats a bit odd any word why SPN is a repeat and no new nikita on the 20th?

  5. Well, shoot!  What is going on that night that they are running a repeat?

  6. thats what im wondering too maybe an encore on nikitas timeslot of another CW Show

  7. This isn't exactly shocking news.  From now until May, The CW will be sprinkling in a lot more repeats into their schedule.  It happens every year.

  8. If it is,  I see they are running a rerun of Supernatural instead of doing another show in its time slot. lol.  After last year, they may have learned something.  Who knows.  Any Supernatural is better then no Supernatural.

  9. the show returns next week? REALLY WHAT :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  10. Seems odd this is happening in January instead of February since I can't think of anything special on Jan. 20.  Maybe the CW is being pre-empted in major areas by sports that night.  Still, last year a week before the premiere we got the news that the premiere we had been waiting for was being bumped a week for VD reruns.  I like this news much, much better.  I guess the CW won't be trying that again.  We  shut down their comment box throughout the week.

  11. I wish they would produce enough episodes so there weren't EVER any repeats for the whole season, just take The whole month of December off and come back the first week in January. In a perfect world, *sigh*

  12. Not knowing this was the best thing ever AHHA! IM SO HAPPY! I thought it came back around jan 20 :D youpi 8 days

  13. This is actually quite a relief for me.  My sister recently talked me into taking a women's weekend retreat hosted by our church with her & a friend.  My only regret was that I would miss a new Supernatural episode on Friday night. The retreat is Jan. 20th  - 22nd. :)

  14. So why is the CW playing TVD in Secret Circle tonight just play Nikita in SPN.

  15. I'm with you on this, have been watching all the repeats and none this Friday..sucks.  Just finished watching Swan Song again, dang I love that ep, Jared is awesome as both Sam & Lucifer and yea to Baby.

  16. I agree.   Swan Song is one of the best tear jerkers on the show.  AHBL,  and Dean's death scene and Bobby's are the ones that get me.  I did not cry that much over Cas' because did not write it to be poignant.  There should have been more between and Dean and they would have had a fantastic death scene then.  It was too fast. But those other four episodes make me cry every time.  It is not for lack of loving the show.  I am an author and it lacked a good deal.

  17. Don't you find it interesting that they tell us that one of the boys is going to have a sizzling sex seen and then they have a rerun the week you would expect it to run?

  18. We are seriously getting two episodes of that dumb witch show?  I can not stand it.  If they put it on instead of SPN.  I will be spending some time emailing the CW since they conveniently closed their chat boards.

  19. All that matters is that it comes back next week and we dont have to wait forever for new episodes. If u think about it, if this was last season, we wouldn't have even had new ones by the 20th. This year, we get two new ones before a rerun, which is AWESOME

  20. Rage Mode: On

    IMMA CUT A BITCH!!!!

    Rage Mode: Off

Quite dreadful news. I was quite expecting a whole month of new episodes.

  21. I don't mind a week break. It's coming back a lot earlier than it usually would so that's good. As for why they're doing it, who knows. They could be trying to even everything up so that the series finales all line up in one week? (Although Supernatural and Nikita have 1 more episode than VD and that.)

  22. I'm guessing the writers have no clue where they are going in the second half of the season. I'm enjoying season 7 but it's feels choppy and undirected. Maybe they are behind in scripts, since they started filming this year with only 2 scripts written. They are usually further ahead. I notice there hasn't been a title update past 7/16 in forever.
    lol Sorry I'm a pessimist.

  23. Ah, well...better a "Supernatural" rerun than no "Supernatural" at all.

  24. Yep two hours of the Secret Square tonight.lol

  25. I think that the network should adopt a new way of airing the episodes.

Instead of having "hellatuses" etc, it could air a new episode for three consecutive weeks and a repeat in  the fourth. That way the wait would always only be a week. so it could go eps. 1, 2, 3, repeat ep1, then 4,5,6, repeat ep 2 and so forth.
I haven't worked out the numbers but if you take away the 3-4 months it's off the air in summer, it should more or less work out. They could add a couple of extra eps. if needed.

I was dusting our DVD collection yesterday and I noticed that Deep Space Nine had 26 eps a season , so why can't Supernatural have the same?

  26. I figured that :-((

The CW is re, re-encoring the "Remodeled" premiere (insert eyeroll thingy) in Nikita's timeslot. Because We CW Watchers Know that this level of overexposure did so much for Ringer's ratings (reinsert eyeroll) :P.

    ReplyDelete
  27. As I said "upthread" The CW is re.re-encoring "Remodeled" in Nikita's time slot on Jan 20 because "The CW wants viewers to have more chances to watch their new show" which is a rough paraphrase  of their recent press release. Since Nikita and SPN are getting 23 episodes this season, I assume that The CW wants to pair new episodes together but they're not as picky with pairing reruns together.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yep. The second encore of the "Remodeled" premiere is scheduled for Nikita's slot.

  29. I agree... at least SPN is getting a rerun and is not being preempted to encore the winter premieres an of HoD or TSC, both shows (*I think* HoD returns Jan 16, 2012).

    ReplyDelete
  30. I did not cry for Cas either, mainly because I just did not think he would stay dead, and the scene was not set up for a big finish.

    ReplyDelete
  31. wow that sucks but seeing as they have about 12 episodes left it does make sense

    ReplyDelete
  32. There is a TSC "marathon" that started last night (Thursday 12/29) and will be airing reruns until next Wednesday in time for the Winter premieres of TVD & TSC. SPN has had at least one rerun preempted for the previous two years for TVD marathons. Bleech... but it can't be helped. I'm more annoyed that SPN/Nikita reruns have been preempted twice to air CW holiday shows "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and "Olive, the other reindeer. One preemption to air holiday shows I get (Friday, Dec 23rd) but not twice.

    ReplyDelete
  33. It has nothing to with that and everything to do with a "new Nikita" being bumped for a second encore that same week of the "Remodeled" premiere and I guess The CW wants the new episodes of both Friday shows to match up episode order wise until later.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I agree and it could be much worse and both Nikita and SPN could have had to wait several more weeks (Jan 27, 2012) for new episodes.

  35. I tried to give the CW feedback on this last night since they say they adore our feedback.  Unfortunately the feedback section would not load.  So is it a preemptive strike by the CW to avoid our complaints, a case of fans crashing the feedback box again, or was the internet really acting up?  You choose.

  36. The month or two break in the winter is because so many people are out doing holiday things that ratings are almost always lower then.  Same thing for the summer.  Even new summer fare does not fare well compared to fall.  Since TV shows live or die by ratings, networks want to get the most out of them.  I agree that fan wise the 3 on 1 off plan is ideal but business wise not so much.  As far as why Supernatural doesn't have 26 episodes - it's all based on what the CW buys from Warner Brothers.  My guess is it doesn't have the money to buy 26 episodes.  I'm just happy we have a 23rd this year.  Never expected that and am grateful Pedowitz ordered it.  Here's hoping the same goes for the 8th season.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes, I get the fact that during the holiday seasons there are less people watching tv but they should try and cover the rest of the time as logically as they can.
However, as you say, we can only be thankful that we're getting an extra episode. :)

I wonder if it will be used a s a two-part finale or as a separate ep.

Are you hopeful for an 8th season?
I believe the J's are happy to go on for another year, so I suppose it's all up to the ratings.
There are a few shows with worse ratings than Supernatural so I think they would be on the list to be cancelled first. Here's hoping anyway.

  38. Any hints as to what episode will be aired on the 20th?
