Supernatural - Midseason Polls - Part 6

28 Dec 2011

It's the last round of the midseason ranking poll. (Sorry it is late.) We will pick up the last few after all season 7 episodes air. Thanks so much to everyone who commented and voted. Please don't forget to add your poll ideas in the comments area so we can get started with the nomination stages.

Polls still open for round 3 (closing soon), round 4, and round 5.

The plan: We will run the contest to see where episodes will rank over winter hiatus and the early part of summer hiatus. The top 100 episodes will be ranked by how they do in this contest. The bottom 49 episodes will go head to head to see which ones make it into the contest. The reason for this is that the brackets only work with 128 episodes. This will still allow each episode to go head to head to determine the Best Supernatural Episode.

Unlike the actual contest in the summer, preliminaries will be open for at least one week each. Everyone still only gets 1 vote per IP address though. Voting will be in 6 episode batches by order in which they aired and everyone can vote for 3 episodes per batch. Feel free to sound off in the comments about why you chose what you did.

  1. Don't forget to post any other polls you would like us to do during hiatus.  We should start nominating soon so break out your favorite quotes.  We are going to nominate by season so it may be time for that Supernatural marathon again.

  2. Good episodes to choose from finally!
    My votes:

    Poll 1:
My Heart Will Go On - because I love Balthazar and I love the idea of those slight reality changes caused by the unsinking of Titanic
Mommy Dearest - Jefferson Starships, anyone? ;)
The Man Who Knew Too Much - Sam's wall breaks down, we have a big black demon cloud back, there is Crowley, and Cas proclaims himself a God, which is deliciously intriguing. This episode made me really excited for season 7.
Now I wanted to vote for The Man Who Would Be King too, but I figured people would vote for it anyway and the other ones could use my vote more.

    Poll 2:
Meet the New Boss - a kick-ass season premiere with power-crazy Cas, with Death and with the introduction of the Leviathans. Awesomness was officially back in SPN with this episode.
Hello, Cruel World - so far my favourite episode of season 7. Definitely a whole package episode.
Slash Fiction - what can I say, I'm just enjoying the Leviathan storyline so much that the mytharc episodes easily beat the standalones for me (at least so far). Although I did love Shut Up, Dr Phil too. It gets an honorable mention from me.

  3. Round 21: My Heart Will Go On - for Ellen & Bobby and the scene of Sam & Dean tempting fate to Blondie's 'One Way or Another'; Mommy Dearest - for Dean single-handedly taking down Eve by ingesting Phoenix ash and the surprise appearance of Crowley; The Man Who Know Too Much - for Jared's wonderful performance as 3 different Sams & "I'm not leaving my brother alone out there."
Round 22: Meet the New Boss - Death & Crowley awesomeness; Hello, Cruel World - Lucifer finally got scary, the warehouse scene, and Sheriff Mills is back; Slash Fiction - Double the Winchesters, Bobby & Dean's Baby, plus Crowley, and we meet LeviaBoss Dick.

  4. 1.  I had to go with The Man Who Would Be King, Let It Bleed, and The Man Who Knew Too Much.  Those three were important.  I loved Let I Bleed.  Of the finale it was my favorite.  I wanted to vote for Frontierland also but not enough votes for us to have.

    2.  Defending Your Life.  This episode didn't cure Dean's problems but it at least focused on it and made him face it some.  I also liked Hello Cruel World.  Dean actually admitted on Bobby's cell that he could no longer cope and if Bobby was gone, he'd suicide and take Sam with him.  That was scary.  More then the Leviathans.  I loved Slash Fiction.  The fact that the cloned Sam and Dean were following the boys' past cases was fascinating and they were fun to watch and listen to.  Finally Sam finds out about Amy.

I've loved all of Season 7 so this was hard.

  5. Poll 1 went to The Man Who Knew Too Much, The Man Who Would Be King, and Frontierland, which barely edged out Mommy Dearest when I pictured Castiel asking "Is it customary to wear a blanket?"

Poll 2 was much easier for me - Meet the New Boss, Hello, Cruel World, and Slash Fiction seemed like kick-ass, simple choices

  6. I'm probably one of the few who won't vote for The Man Who Would Be King. But it just ranks lower than the three I did choose.

Frontierland - um, Western SPN! I adore Westerns, and to see a SPN Western-themed ep was a dream. The production was wonderful and seeing Dean's excitement over being in the old west was so joyful. Let it Bleed - I'm definitely one of only a few to vote for this one, but I actually do like this episode a lot. It was the only way to get Lisa and Ben out of Dean's life without killing them. I do not like that Cas wiped their memories, but it is what it is. And for Dean, it's just another loss he hasn't dealt with yet (even now in season 7). I am reminded of a moment in Two and Half Men when Dean tells Ben quite emphatically that he will never shoot a gun (after Dean finds Ben with a sawed-off in his hands). Flash forward to this episode and Ben is shooting salt rounds at demons. It really is tragic.
The Man Who Knew Too Much - Sam's wall is down and Dean and Bobby are on their own to stop Cas and Crowley. I expected more to come of the wall falling (or getting knocked down by Cas) but I came to like what they did, having Sam battle the parts of himself. For a season finale however, it was kind of weak. The whole sixth season was a struggle, with too many wandering storylines, and no good follow-through on any of them. I still don't understand what the point was of introducing Eve since she only played a part in a handful of episodes. But I digress.

Meet the New Boss - Strong season opener. It was fun to see Dean slowly rebuild/repair the Impala once again. Not so good to see Sam struggling to hold back Hell/Cage/Lucifer memories.
Hello Cruel World - Very strong episode and some really good brotherly moments, which is what drew me into the show and kept me watching all this time. I've rewatched this episode many, many, many times. Not so thrilled to lose Bobby's house.
Slash Fiction - Funny. And though Sam loses his cool over Dean's lies about Amy, etc, all the stuff leading up to that is really great. I loved seeing Sheriff Mills! Let's hope she lasts a bit...

  7. At least some episodes I liked :) I chose Frontierland, The Man Who Knew Too Much (damn the looong episode titles!

and Meet The New Boss, Hello, Cruel World (My absolute favorite of S7 so far) and Slash Fiction which is my second favorite.

Thanks for doing the polls again :D

  8. Gah, it was so hard to choose from the season seven episodes! It's one of my favorite seasons already.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Today is super easy for me since 3 episodes stand out in each poll.  In the first round, I chose My Heart Will Go On, Mommy Dearest, and The Man Who Knew Too Much.  MHWGO had another perfect example of music and scene connection and I loved the idea of Fate.  Plus, Ellen and Bobby together were the epitome of awesome.  Mommy Dearest moved the plot into warp speed.  I hated that Eve was killed off so easy but absolutely loved the return of Clever Dean.  The writers need to use him more often.  Also Crowley at the end and the reveal that what most people suspected was what was going on - fantastic.  The Man Who Knew Too Much started off weird but I loved it as a season finale.  The return of RoboSam was a definite plus for me.  I miss his deadpan snarkiness.

I realize I am in the minority but I can never vote for Frontierland.  It and Bugs have the two worst endings of possibly any TV show ever.  It is a clear case of terrible writing and no humor in the beginning can outshadow the epic fail of the ending for me.  I'm also in the minority because I think The Man Who Would Be King is one of the worst episodes of season 6 and the series.  It's in my top 25 worst episodes based on the sheer boredom I felt throughout the whole thing.  This is an episode that only gets worse on rewatch, so I try to avoid it.  Let It Bleed would have been my next vote.  I adore the Lisa and Ben story line and I wish they could have stayed.  DemonLisa rocked my world and watching Ben pick up that gun despite Dean's efforts to shield him from the hunting life was heartbreaking.  It even had Crowley goodness.  Still it loses out by a hair to the Ellen and Bobby saga and Rube Goldberg deaths.

Round 2 enters season seven where I have to vote for the first 2 episodes and Slash Fiction.  Slash Fiction gets my vote for the best of the episodes if only because the Cas religious smiting scenes annoyed me in Meet the New Boss and the editing made me seasick in Hello, Cruel World.  However all of these will rank pretty high on my best episodes list once it is update.  Shut Up, Dr. Phil was also a stellar episode for me, largely because of the Buffy-alum guest stars.  If I could have voted for one other episode today, it would be this one.  As for The Girl Next Door and Defending Your Life, they both leave a bad taste in my mouth.  The Girl Next Door was bad writing to say the least with both brothers out of character and only the flash backs (thank you Colin Ford) to save it.  Just terrible!  Defending Your Life got everything wrong.  It could have been a character defining episode or simply cleared the air.  Instead all it did was suck out loud.  I liked the Becky episode better than these two and that says a lot.

  10. totally agree about the ending of Frontierland but I still love it regardless.
Also, I'm so glad I'm not the only one not in love with The Man Who Knew Too Much. I was also quite bored with it...I think Cas's story would have been more powerful had more hints been dropped, or blatantly stated, throughout the season. I hope the decision to bring Misha back this season is due to storylines not due to fan pressure because that worries me. But I digress.

  11. Jefferson Starships.  Ha!  An instant classic.  I also went into the season 7 premiere more excited than I had been in two years.  I'm so glad season 7 has been the level of awesome it currently is.  I too enjoy the Leviathans for the most part.  Slash Fiction and Death's Door are currently battling it out for my favorite episode so far this season though.  LeviaBros were beyond amazing and the scene in the diner may end up being my favorite of the year.

  12. too hard to choose, wanna pick every single episodes, they're all awesome

  13. I always look forward to reading your take on episodes even when we don't agree (See TMWWBG).  I do agree that one of the best things about that episode (well possibly the only good thing for me) was Ellsworth.  Demon version of Bobby got killed off way, way too soon.  He could have been a lot of fun!  Even Crowley couldn't save that one, although he made my day in Mommy Dearest.  Loved the return of Crowley snark.

Thanks for adding the video.  I agree it uses an iconic line well.  In fact I like it so much that the typically irritating Coldplay sounds better.  I might even download it.

  14. It surprises me how much more I like Lucifer in season 7 than I ever did in season 5 when he was supposed to be the Big Bad.  He is definitely more diabolical and scary this time around and I only wish they would have written him this way in season 5.  It would have made the Apocalypse more believable.  One Way or Another was definitely a score in the music department.  I hope it does well in the best song-scene match contest.  I also agree that Crowley and Death made the season premiere one of the best premieres of all and it has tough competition there.

  15. The Dean phone call to Bobby was one of the most heartwrenching scenes of all.  It reminded me of the heartbreak of his voice mail to John in Home.  Of course, I like Bobby a whole lot better so it was harder to take here.  I love that Dean finally expresses how much Bobby means to him and acknowledges that things are not "fine".  I wish that word would be forever banned in Winchester lexicon.

I think you are the first person I've heard to enjoy Defending Your Life in a season of hits.  I'm glad that it is getting some love even though I couldn't stand it.  For me it was a lack of character change that really hurt it.  If Dean drops some of his guilt as the season progresses because of this episode, then it will raise in my rankings.  Of course, Bobby death will make this a whole lot harder.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wow, someone else who didn't like TMWWBK.  Yippee!  I often feel alone on that island.  Too much talk not enough action.  I also agree with you about Let It Bleed.  I hated that despite all Dean's efforts, Ben was still drawn in the hunting world.  I also did not mind the ending because it allowed Lisa and Ben to stay alive even if it would not protect them from future demon entanglements.  But it still gives me hope for a Lisa-Dean reunion when the show finally ends.

Season 6 had its faults with the biggest being too many balls juggled in the air.  I agree that the dropped or stalled plot lines made it frustrating sometimes and they missed the opportunity to make Eve a kick-butt, frightening Big Bad.  That is probably my biggest regret about season 6.  Still I found it vastly superior to season 5 so mostly I roll through season 6 on a happy cloud.  However, nothing on season 6 is even touching the fabulousness of season 7 for me.  I feel like Supernatural is once again hitting its stride and I hope Bobby's death doesn't put the whole series in another tail spin.  I like where they are heading so far.

  17. One of the few times in season 6 that Cas got the best line.  It always makes me chuckle.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is my greatest fear for season 7.  Even if the Leviathans turn out to be lame.  Even if the rest of the season is one endless cycle of post-Bobby despair.  Nothing would be as bad as a Castiel adventure for the mere sake of pleasing Misha's considerable fans.  There were reasons Cas needed to be taken out and if they haven't found a creative way to fix those, we will be back to where we started.  Hopefully it will not be simply bending to fandom pressure but a real reason for Castiel to be in the story in the first place.  They tried to shoehorn him into several episodes of season six that just didn't make sense until they made him the final twist.  I hope we don't start that process again.  Of course, I will not be happy if we return to the season of despair that was year 5 either.

  19. Welcome to the Supernatural community here at SpoilerTV, Sarah.  It's nice to have you.  I agree that for the most part these polls are stronger than most of the ranking polls we have had. Lots of great episodes to both remember and vote for.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Haha, it's funny, I was writing down my thoughts on TMWWBK, and in my minds eye I could see you reading it and shaking your head! :D It wasn't my favourite of episodes, but I didn't absolutely hate it either, so it's staying put firmly in the mediocre column (but way, WAY above stuff like Defending Your Life, The Girl Next Door and Season 7, Time For a Wedding. Though that's only IMO obviously).

I have a strange relationship with Coldplay songs: I detest a large number of them, particularly some of the more well known ones (i.e. Yellow, Fix You), but I actually quite like a number of them as well, mostly because of their use in Supernatural videos, so I have good connotations when I hear them. I actually found a great one today set to 'Don't Panic'!

  21. First poll: My Heart Will Go On, Frontierland, Mommy Dearest. "Let it bleed" is just too painful to watch for me. Poor Dean! And as for 6x20 and 6x22 - they're both very good, but I was just so angry when Cass decided to go on with his plan and left them behind. Hate this part of the plot!

Second poll: Hello, Cruel World (love the scene where Dean shows Sam difference between halucinations and reality), Defending Your Life (for Jo) and Slash Fiction (just love it! well, except ending). Not a fan of season 7 premiere. Probably because I'm just not a fan of Cass' storyline (season 6/7). But loved Death and this short moment when we had OUR Cass back, also not a big part of Amy storyline, so no The Girl Next Door (although I love the beginning sequence, awesome shots!) and Shut Up, Dr. Phil was very good, but not my favorite.

  22. um, and of course in my comment I meant The Man Who Would be King...jeez! I loved The Man Who Knew Too Much. Curse these complicated and similar titles!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I was rereading my recap on Meet the New Boss and Cas calls himself God about a billion times.  It was definitely a Freudian slip but mostly because I was thinking of the title as The Man Who Would Be God.  It fits better with what Cas mistakenly thought he was.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I found it very odd too that they would use such similar names in so close a proximity to each other.  I still get them confused which really sucks because I adore TMWKTM.  I think TMWWBK should be retitled God Complex but then it doesn't have the cool movie title tie in.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The scene in the warehouse during Hello, Cruel World is my choice for most important scene of season 7.  And such a great job with acting!  There are so many great scenes that we could probably do a season 7 best scene poll and have wildly different nominations.  I'm loving season 7 so far.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Poll 1: My Heart, Frontierland and Mommy
Poll 2: Meet the new boss, Hello cruel world and Shut up, dr phil

    ReplyDelete
  27. Poll 21:
My Heart Will Go On, Mommy Dearest and The Man Who Knew Too Much. I also liked Frontierland and Let It Bleed, but not The Man Who Would Be King. (Having said that, I loved Ellsworth - wish he could've stayed around) Devoting an entire episode to Cas talking supposedly to god seemed kinda wasteful to me so close to the end of the season, especially since Cas' justification for his actions could have just as easily been shown in more interesting ways in other episodes. I found it boring - one of the few times I recall watching an episode for the first time and thinking 'when are we getting to the good stuff?' I've watched it a couple of times since and it has improved its ranking very slightly but it will never be an episode I rewatch. Neither will Let It Bleed - but that's mainly because of the heart breaking scene where Dean leaves Ben & Lisa behind (apart from that another great episode).
    Poll 22:
Meet The New Boss, Hello Cruel World and Slash Fiction. I loved everything about these 3 episodes.  I also like Shut Up Dr Phil.

I'm absolutely loving season 7 so far (yes there've been some less than fantastic episodes, but that happens every season - nothing unusual in that) Can't wait to see where we go from Death's Door.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Welcome to SpoilerTV Lucie.  Thanks for sharing your picks with us.  Is there any Supernatural topic you would like to have a poll on for the remainder of the winter hiatus?

    ReplyDelete
  29. O.o I have a hard time remembering wich episode goes with which title aha. I only know season 1 through 5.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I want desperately for Dean to find happiness in the end...but I fear that won't be what happens.

Also, until Jan 6th, I refuse to believe that Bobby is dead!!! :(
After seeing seasons 1-5, and getting the neat wrap-up of all that stuff, season 6 had the chance to really start fresh. What I hated most was that the first half of the season was Soulless Sam, and I HATED SOULLESS SAM! I wanted my Winchester brothers like they used to be, it's what I love about the show! So it was and still is hard for me to watch the first half of the season (save a few eps). The second half had a lot of eps I really didn't enjoy all the much. It was just a hard season to enjoy for me. :(
You are right that season 5 was pretty weak, compared to 1-4, and that season 7 is pretty friggin' amazing! Almost as good as seasons 1-3 which IMO were the strongest of all (Even though I constantly waver between seasons 3 and 4 for being my favorite).
    :)

  31. Aw, we're going to have to disagree.  I loved RoboSam.  He was so deliciously guilt-free and snarky.  No moan and groan, all action.  Sometimes I miss him.  Of course I was delighted by the return of real Sam in Like a Virgin.  I missed him more than I thought I did.  However, I'm still all for RoboSam making occasional visits these days just to bring the fun.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If the only clunkers we have in season 7 is the 3 we've already made it through, then this season may be the best yet.  Looking back through previous seasons, the only one that didn't have 3 clunkers in the first 10 episodes was season 3 for me.  Of course it had a shortened season and tossed in most of its big clunkers at the end.

  35. haha, that's cool. I can appreciate why you liked RoboSam; he did have some funny, snarky moments. It was just too much of a character change for me to handle.

    ReplyDelete
  36. #21 - I intentionally only voted for 2 eps...My Heart Will Go On, and The Man Who Knew Too Much
#22 - Shut Up Dr. Phil (I liked it), Slash Fiction, and Hello Cruel World (liked the whole Sam cracking
and Dean helping him out thing.)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Group 21
    *My Heart Will Go On*
It's a really interesting, well told story with an interesting new character, Fate.  The great Balthazar stuff was just a bonus.
    *Mommy Dearest*
The best mythology episode of the season, especially since the two-part finale was a letdown.
*The Man Who Would Be King*
The last really good Cas episode in season six.  Sadly, the character only has two solid episodes after this before he was obliterated by Leviathans.

    Group 22
*Meet The New Boss* & *Hello, Cruel World*
Castiel's swan song.  We get good Cas, bad cas, batsh*t crazy Cas, and dying, repentant Cas.  It was a really solid send off, if only temporary.
    *The Girl Next Door*
It was controversial, divisive, and a moral quagmire.  It was also one of the better episodes this season.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Seems that for once, we chose exactly the same episodes ;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Agreed. Cas's time in SPN is over, period. And I'm saying it as a  die-hard season 4 Castiel.

    ReplyDelete
  40. 21. My Heart Will Go On (Balthazar and Ellen= thumbs up), Mommy Dearest (Jefferson Starships!), The Man Who Knew Too Much
    22. Meet the New Boss, Hello, Cruel World, Slash Fiction

    ReplyDelete
  41. The last three for poll number one...
And Meet The New Boss, HCW, and Slash Fiction for the second.

Because they were simply splendid episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  42. At least there's still a lot of possibility for RoboSam flashbacks - I'd like to see him against the Leviathans though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Let it bleed should have had a "The Man That... title in my opinion. (Goes to google the man that titles)

    ReplyDelete
  44. RoboSam versus LeviaBoss?  Epic is the only fitting word.  What i wouldn't give to see RoboSam calmly toss bleach on him and behead him, not caring who saw it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. OK, so our Netflix choices are:  The Man That Corrupted Hadleyville, The Man from Nowhere, The Man Who Cried, simply The Man (2 movies with this name), The Man From Earth, The Man Who Wasn't There, The Man Who Knew Too Little, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Man who Came Back, The Man with 2 Brains, The Man who Never Was, The Man in the Shadow, The Man in the Moon, The Man of the Year, The Man in the Net, The Man of Her Dreams, The Man from Planet X, The Man who wasn't There, The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit, The Man who Fell to Earth, The Man who Loved Women, The Man of My Life, The Man in the White Suit, The Man Eater, The Man of the House, The Man in the Saddle, The Man in the Vault, The Man in the Middle, The Man in the Chair, The Man of the Moment, The Man of the West, The Man Show, The Man in the Mirror, The Man on the Tracks, The Man on the Train, The Man in the Attic, The Man and the Monster, Man of Faith, The Man from Utah, man of La Mancha, The Man from Colorado, The Man from Aldersgate, The Man from Laramie, The Man who Laughs, The Man Called Flintstone, The Man from Texas, The Man from Monterrey, The Man from London, The Man from Hell, Man on a Ledge, The Man from Oklahoma, The Man Nobody Knew, The Man I Love, The Man who Copied, The Man Next Door, The Man in the Glass Booth, The Man without a Body, The Man Behind the Badge, The Man with the Golden Arm, The Man Behind the Scissors, The Man from the Embassy, The Man Beyond the Bridge, The Man who would be Polka King.....

And that's just the first 50 pages of over 3,000 hits that came up.  Forget one episode, we could make the entire season one big homage to The Man movie titles.  If you include titles the allow an adjective before Man, we could rename every episode in seven seasons.  Faith becomes Man of Faith, season 5 is retitled The Man who Cried, season six is retitled The Man who Knew too Little, season 1 = The Man and the Monster.  Weekend of Bobby's gets told from marcy's viewpoint instead and becomes The Man Next Door.  Heart becomes The Man Eater, Sadly, only Hell House becomes The Man who Laughed.  Exile on Main St - The Man of the House.  Half the episodes could be The Man who Came Back.  Lazarus Rising = The Man from Hell.  Any RoboSam episode = The Man Nobody Knew.  The last half of season 5 shares Man on a Ledge.  Time for a Wedding = The man of Her Dreams.  Castiel becomes The Man who Fell to Earth.  So many possibilities.

I for one am looking forward to The Man who Would be Polka King!  I foresee meta or high jinks.  Perhaps a retro Trickster episode?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ha!  Glad it was intentional this time.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Agreed about Fate.  She was arguably the best new character introduced in terms of what they could do with her character.  Should be interesting if they choose to bring her back.  However, TMWWBK was the 20th episode of season 6 so there were only 2 more episodes in the season period.  Were you including the first two episodes of season seven?

    ReplyDelete
  48. poll 21: frontier land. loved the episode, deans childish love of the old west, the phoenix. i just hated the stupid back to the future two ending with the parcel from the past. i thought it was dumb. but i loved everything else.
man who would be king. a brilliant episode and from cas's perspective. all round awesome. and we finally got some answers
man who knew too much. epic finale. i've never not voted for a finale and that is because they are always just so awesome. the best part of the finale though were the oarts in sams head. that was done really well.

poll 22: this one was easy as i loved three and dont really like the other three. it was sad how this season started off so well with the first two episodes and then went badly downhill for the next few. and of course amy ruined basically every episode after the girl next door.
my votes went for meet the new boss which was prob even better than the season finale before it. we got cas as a powercrazed god, crowley as awesome as always, death who turns any episode from great to awesome, lucifer insams head who was way more sinister and evil than he ever was alive in season 5 and the introduction of the leviathans which was one of the best cliffhangers ever.
next was hello cruel world which was possibly even better than meet the new boss. sams halucinations were brilliant and the leviathans proved that they are not just a run of the mill monster, they are smart.
slash fiction. it was better than the other options and i also really enjoyed this episode. except when they had to get rid of the impala, that made me sad.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I was counting the first two of season seven.  Those episodes were a good sendoff for Castiel.  The writers gave Misha Collins a lot to do from a character standpoint within those two programs.

    ReplyDelete
  50. makes sense.  I agree that Misha had multiple episodes worth of work in those two episodes.  In fact I would say that he had more to work with in those two episodes than pretty much all of season 6 put together, minus of course TMWWBK.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Agree with everything you said about poll 22 except I think Slash Fiction was the best episode of the choices and possibly the best so far if a rewatch of Death's Door doesn't pull ahead.  You're right about the Impala though.  It's sad that she's been missing for so long.  She's owed one beautiful, musical entrance when she gets back.  I also totally agree about Amy.  She was the poison female of season 7, and here I thought it was going to be Becky.  I also vote for all the finales (with the exception of Swan Song which is a lot of people's favorite.)

    ReplyDelete
  52. the only ones i've rewatched so far have been the first two so maybe when i go back over the rest of them my opinion will change.
a big musical entrance would be amazing! hopefully some good old classic rock music like we used to get. i miss that so much. and the "bitch" "jerk". and dean's necklace.

  53. Poll 1
    My Heart Will Go On.
I loved trying to spot all the details that were different in this reality.
    I
got the feeling they had more money to spare, and with the presence of
Ellen they seemed happier and less desperate and depressed. Too bad it couldn't last.

    Mommy Dearest.
I liked this episode . There was a lot happening. We get the whole story from Eve and the season six mystery theme all starts to make sense.
I was actually warming a little bit to Eve,and I got the part of her defending her children as a mother would.
The two kids reminding Sam and Dean of their own childhood was sweet.
Then we get to see my favourite villan Crowley alive, and the beginning of the boys' founded suspicions on Castiel.

The Man Who Knew Too Much.
Sam's three essences were explored and Jared did a great job in portraying each one with their different characteristics.
I got to see Robo-Sam again, who will always have a fond place in my heart, and I felt so sorry for HellSam who was so cowed, tortured  and hopeless.
I thought the killing of Balthazar was a shame, as I really liked him and I appreciated him helping the boys even although he was torn about his loyalties.

    Poll 2
I've always been a sucker for the underdog so I'm going to go with less less loved episodes because even in  the worst one there is always a line or a scene that redeems it.

    The Girl Next Door.
I can't ever resist wee Sam, and any back story on the little Winchesters gets my vote.
    Defending Your Life.
I have always like the occasional  "you're on trial for your life " episode.
Following my own logic, I'll give my vote to Shut Up, Dr Phil.

  54. lol this is actually so much fun! I add my ideas:
Bloody Mary - The Man in the Mirror
The Rapture or Death Takes a Holiday - The Man without a Body
every second episode of SPN could be The Man in the Shadow
The End - The Man in the White Suit
Frontierland - The Man in the Saddle...

gotta think to come up with more ;)

  55. Poll 21:  Very easy for me, the last 3 eps of the season.  Loved TMWWBK told from Castiel's POV and the flashbacks.  Let It Bleed had me crying at the end, Dean wiping Lisa & Ben's mind and walking out trying not to cry, dang Jensen you do that so well. ;)  The Man Who Knew Too Much was awesome and had Jared shining in the role, Soulless Sam was so spooky and dang Sam from Hell was heartbreaking. Excellent acting by the whole cast.

Poll 22: First 2 were easy, Meet The New Boss & Hello Cruel World for #3 I could have picked any of the rest, but finally went with The Girl Next Door, mainly because Colin Ford is young Sam and the story went for several eps.  Of course in MTNB we got Julian as Death and just can not vote against him and HCW we get to see just how bad the Leviathan are and how hard to kill.

  57. I enjoyed Soulless Sam, Jared just knocked it out of the park, just dead inside, great acting.  Watching Dean get turned, WOW, how low can you go. lol

  58. The man from Texas could be Jared and Jensen. Anytime they're captured could be the man in the net - On The Head of a Pin everyones trapped, either literally or figuratively.

  59. If more people participated in the forums, this could be one heck of a forum game. It was interesting how many titles came up that instantly connected to an episode for me.

  60. Agree wholeheartedly about My Heart Will Go On.  I loved the general lightness to the atmosphere with Ellen around.  Well until Balthy told them that Ellen and Jo were dead in the "real" timeline.  Then it got bleak in a hurry.  Ellen is one of those few characters that liked better as the story went on.  I think besides her death scene, this is my favorite Ellen episode.

  61. Colin Ford was by far the best thing about Girl Next Door for me.  He consistently knocks it out of the park and I hope to see him again in future episodes.

  62. You're welcome! I'm just glad to have introduced someone else to the world of awesome that is TikiTyler9. She's by far the best vidder in the fandom in my opinion, and we have an amazingly talented set of vidders in this fandom, so that's saying something!
