Hey Guys,
It's approaching the end of the year, and with many of our favourite shows disappearing for a few weeks as we celebrate the festivities of Christmas, Hannukah and the New Year it seems a great time to wave goodbye to the fantastic television of 2011 with some TV Awards.
The idea is as simple as can be. Below is a nomination form, which will be open until Sunday 18th December. Then, either the week beginning Monday 19th, or the week beginning Monday 26th we will have seven days of polls in which the top five nominations from each category will battle it our for your votes!
The only rule is that everyone gets one chance to nominate their choices to reach the final polls, and that also there can only be one entry per show into each poll. An example would be that in episode of the year, there could only be one Fringe episode in that poll, even if two different Fringe episodes would make the top five. The highest voted one would make the poll. This is simply to spread the wealth of shows which reach the nomination stage!
Also, please remember this is only for shows that have aired in 2011, and so any episodes, characters or shows which have NOT aired in 2011 will be exempt from the final polls.
So, without further ado, here is the nomination form for you all to fill in. Please read the instructions for each nomination carefully, and write each answer in carefully as well, as it helps me speed up the counting of the votes:
Any questions, queries, freakouts or any other form of issue, you can email me at adamdharris@spoilertv.com
Twitter: @AdDHarris
Hope everyone enjoys a fantastic beginning to December... Don't forget to comment below with your nominations, and tweet out the form for people to find and complete!...
Adam

ReplyDeleteevery SPN please vote this ep or The French Mistake
I've voted but I'm not telling, although my favourite show could possibly start with an S.........
ReplyDeleteI actually nominated Meet The New Boss for best episode.
ReplyDeleteBust best director and screenwriter went to Ben Edlund for The Man Who Would Be King.
: )
I wonder what it could possibly be... : p
ReplyDeleteA lot of my nominations had the "S" show as a common factor!
I voted for Supernatural, and nominated Hello Cruel World as my fave ep, with Ben Edlund for the writing and Guy Norman Bee for the directing. I thought it was outstanding and deserves to be up there among the best SPN eps of the whole series.
ReplyDeleteIs that because it would be Shameless to say the show? It's not like your Spartacus, or wearing shiny Suits, or maybe it's just through fear of being sent to the Southland and into Suburgatory, or turning yellow like The Simpsons... You could do with some Sons of Anarchy to help you through this, they would Smash away such fears, and provide you with Sanctuary. You're a true Survivor, and it was clearly helped by not being Switched at Birth.
ReplyDeleteWhy? I much preferred Hello Cruel World to either of those eps, although I did love TFM. TMWWBK wouldn't even get in my top 10 of s6.
ReplyDeleteBest Show- Psych (it deserves the nomination)
ReplyDeleteBest Sitcom - HIMYM
Best Episode - Remedial Chaos Theory (Community)
Best actress - Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife)
Best actor - Ty Burrell (Modern Family)
Cable - American Horror Story
New Show - Once Upon a Time
Police - Castle
Most Overlooked - Courtney Cox (Cougar Town)
Most Missed - Cougar Town
Most Anticipated - River
great idea!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask why you will only allow submissions if you have voted in every category? I hate reality shows and police procedurals, and have no desire to nominate in those categories, but I couldn't submit until I had filled in those boxes.
ReplyDeleteBest Show:Supernatural
ReplyDeleteSitcom:The Big Bang Theory
Episode:Meet The New Boss - Supernatural
New Show:Game Of Thrones
Actor:Jensen Ackles - Supernatural
Actress:Emilia Clarke - Game Of Thrones
Supporting Actor:Misha Collins - Supernatural(although,I don't know if he falls in the category since he was a regular in season 6)
Director and Screenwriter:Ben Edlund - Supernatural - The Man Who Would Be King(it was a tough choice between him and Guy Bee for director)
Police:Hawaii Five-O
Medical:Grey's Anatomy
Cable:White Collar
Reality:Masterchef USA(in all honesty,I don't know another reality and the Masterchef we had over here wasn't bad,so..)
TV Channel:CBS(no matter how much I adore Supernatural I can't vote for CW)
Overlooked Person:John Noble - Fringe(even though I stopped watching after season 1)
Missed Show:Numb3rs
Anticipated Show:Alcatraz
Just stick N/A or None into the box :)
ReplyDeleteJust put None or N/A into those boxes
ReplyDeleteI did that, but seems unnecessary to require every box to be filled in. No big deal though, and thanks for organising.
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam ! It's always nice to have awards competitions like that.

Thanks, just did it!
ReplyDeleteMeet the New Boss for Best Episode. I voted Jensen Ackles for director. He has done a fabulous job two years in a row.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to Sheild myself in Smallville and South Park designing Secret Circles so as not to end up Six Feet Under in SUPERNATURAL.
ReplyDeleteTouchè, although it's not as good as yours!
Sheesh a girl can't even try to be a little mysterious:-))))))))
I nominated Game of Thrones and Justified in most things. Love all the actors on those two shows and it was difficult to pick only some of them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I nominated Claire Danes for Homeland as I thinnk she is unbelievebly good.
There are too many categories that I don't want to nominate anything in ... so a lot of 'none' coming from me.
ReplyDeleteQuestion,in regards to cable tv show, are you combining cable and premium cable channels together?
ReplyDeleteJust voted! Can't wait to see how this all goes :)
ReplyDeleteYeah :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have a think and fill it in over the next few days.
ReplyDeleteFairly obvious already who most of the winners will be thou....
Lots of my votes went to Homeland and Fringe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam!
ReplyDeleteIts not like i'm voting for the president, but some of these are hard to answer. If only i could put down two answers to a question, lol.
I also voted for The Man Who Would Be King, but it was hard, there was so many excellent eps in s6. This one stands out because it is Cass telling the story and I loved my clueless Angel.
ReplyDeleteI also hate reality shows, so just put in So You Think You Can Dance, which used to be called talent show.
ReplyDeleteI also voted for Jensen as director, he did a great job on both eps.
ReplyDeleteI agree, for me there were many great episodes in Season 6.
ReplyDeleteI could count maybe a couple that were under par.
However I voted for Caged Heat which is one of the episodes I love re-watching.
It is so full of action and there isn't a dull moment.
The tense exchange between Samuel and Dean was just epic!
Nearly everyone was in it, baddies and goodies! For me a memorable episode!
Actually, in the spirit of openness, I should admit that I am a HUGE Strictly Come Dancing (the UK - and the original - version of Dancing with the Stars). So I do allow myself that one guilty pleasure.

I have to agree with GG. I'm a big Supernatural fan, but 6x20 didn't really do it for me - I actually found it kinda boring. And French Mistake while funny in certain scenes was to meta for me.
ReplyDeleteSo, every Spn fan should vote for the episode they liked the most. Tastes differ.
In my case HCW (7x02) all the way.
Didn't Caged Heat air in 2010?
ReplyDeleteThanks Andy. HCW was a classic for me. Everything about it was straight out of the top drawer. But the main thing I loved was the emotional intensity between Dean and Sam, driven by the genuine risk of losing each other - not by dying for a change, but by Sam losing his sanity. I loved it.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that all the eps that have aired in s7 so far are also eligible. Caged Heat was in 2010. Like a Virgin was the first ep in 2011. Actually I loved that one too - maybe more than HCW. Damn! Can we vote twice?
ReplyDeleteUnexpectedly (because I love so many shows and it's SO hard to choose) I voted for:
ReplyDelete1. Merlin (I think I'll vote for SPN, TVD or Fringe in the contest but hey, Merlin deserves a nomination!)
2. How i met your mother
3. The French Mistake - Supernatural
4. Once upon a time
5. Jensen Ackles - Supernatural
6. Nina Dobrev - The Vampire Diaries (have hard choice between her and Anna Torv)
7. John Noble - Fringe
8. Guy Norman Bee - SPN - Frontierland (AWESOME shots!)
9. Adam Glass - SPN -Mommy Dearest (I didn't expect to like this episode SO much and it was great, storyline and Dean's lines were brilliant!)
10. The Mentalist (awesome season 3 ending, plus I usually vote for NCIS and I love both shows)
11. Grey's Anatomy (don't really watch any medical procedural and it's the last one I've watched)
12. Psych (I love it! And White Collar!)
13. American Idol (just guessing, don't watch ANY reality TV)
14. CBS (many of my shows are from CBS)
15. John Noble (I mean: Emmy? Why? Really?)
16. LOST (I only just started watching it and... the end!)
17. Alcatraz
TV Show: Fringe
ReplyDeleteSitcom: Suburgatory
Episode: And Those We've Left Behind - Fringe

I see or hear something new every time I rewatch an ep, even if it is the 15th time. lol Loved Caged Heat, but the ep that gets to me more than any other is Swan Song, that ending was epic. Dean not lifting a hand to protect himself, just kept telling Sammy, I'm here for you, will not leave you and the part Baby played in it. Gets the tears streaming from me big time. But since I am a huge fan of Cass had to go with his ep.
ReplyDeleteIt is like TVD, my favorite ep was The Descent, where Damon kills Rose, then Jessica on the highway. So much crying in that ep. ;)
Love both of those shows.
ReplyDeleteI don't even class the "talent" shows with what I think of as reality, like the woman with the litter and shows like that..I had rather go back and rewatch Supernatural or Roswell or Veronica Mars. lol
ReplyDeleteOh, dear, I didn't pay attention to the airing date of the episode.
ReplyDeleteI hope that doesn't mean it won't be counted.
So true, the episodes are packed so full of stuff that it definitely takes multiple veiwings to appreciate them fully.
ReplyDeleteSwan Song was well very done but too tragic for me.
Sammy beating up Dean and then throwing himself into the cage just saddens me so much.
I just feel that Sam didn't deserve the cage and Dean didn't deserve to lose Sanmmy like that.
Gosh, I'm getting sobby just thinking about it!
Show-The Walking Dead
ReplyDeleteActor- Jared Padalecki (he owned season 6 and has been brilliant so far in season 7)
Episode- Hello Cruel World (best episode for years)
Writer- Ben Edlund -Hello Cruel World(best written episode of season 6 and 7 so far)
Director- Guy Bee (for any and all episodes)

As much as I love Fringe, only a few Votes went that way for me this time. AMC has my heart this year, with The Walking Dead ("Pretty Much Dead Already" being the best episode), and Hell on Wheels (best new show). Those two shows are pure genius. I voted John Noble and Anna Torv as Best actor and actress though. Norman Reedus as best supporting actor. John Noble as most overlooked actor. On the sitcom front, I really love Man Up, it is just so damn goofy I love it. For Director I chose Frank Darabont, even though he's out. Just gotta show my love. Criminal minds got my police procedural vote. The Voice got my vote for reality show. I don't really have a dog in the fight for medical shows, (I don't really watch them) but I vote House MD. For most missed show I had to shout out to "The Event" since they really never finished it. As for the most anticipated show; Alcatraz it is.
ReplyDeleteLOL, that's funny, I had to leave after writing what I did about the ep, got sobby myself.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree re Jared, HCW and s7. Much as I like TWD I couldn't have voted for any other show but SPN.
ReplyDeleteI love Merlin and s4 has been the best yet - so I'm glad to see you nominated it. I'd still vote for SPN but Merlin is a great show.

** Adam D. Harris I was so happy to see you had already looked that up when I was looking for it earlier.
I wish I had known that before I looked around to find the least annoying reality tv show I could.
ReplyDeleteI'm lovin' it.
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot about how well-done Frontierland was. The shots were absolutely incredible. I kept thinking "it reminds me of Deadwood or a really high-level production!"
ReplyDeleteAlso, here's vid of Christine Baranski going toe-to-toe with Anika Noni Rose's Wendy Scott-Car... and then her confronting Will for his transgressions.
ReplyDeleteShe's awesome.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEbCAfwH6IM&feature=sh_e_se&list=SL
The hardest for me was the most overlooked actor. There are so many to choose from. Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, John Noble and Joshua Jackson immediately sprung to mind. In the end, I chose Joshua Jackson because even in the confines of his own show he is often overlooked. While John Noble indeed deserved an Emmy this year, much of my enjoyment of Walter comes in his relationship with Peter. It seems like when people rave about Fringe's acting they always cite John Noble and Anna Torv, but for me Joshua Jackson's Peter is the linchpin to all other characters and he rarely gets credit for doing such a great job portraying Peter.
ReplyDeleteDamn, there are too many good actors/actresses on tv today. Between Goggins, Lewis, Noble, Danes...UGHHHH...
ReplyDeleteHonestly every actor/actress on that cast is beyond incredible and do wonderful things with each of their roles. The casting department deserves a gold medal.
ReplyDeleteI also voted for Pretty Much Dead Already. Wish I hadn't voted for Robert Carlyle as overlooked, because I don't think he's overlooked. Anyway, looks like John Noble didn't need my help.
ReplyDeleteI voted for TMWWBK too because the episodes that stick with me are the really powerful character episodes. Seeing Cas's whole life in one episode like we did, with his tragic fall, broke my heart. Truth is I had to remind myself what happened in HCW even though it aired not too long ago. I think the Sam hellucinations storyline had potential to become a really powerful character exploration, but its development barely started before it was sidelined. And at this point, it's lost so much momentum I'm lukewarm about it coming back.
ReplyDeleteI went with Luck on HBO since I have no doubt it will be great, but truthfully I think I am looking forward to Alcatraz and The River more.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to The River too and Alcatraz, but I have doubts about each series I guess. In the end
I completely forgot about Luck,i'm sure Dustin will forgive me,and i'm sure N.Nolte wouldn't mind,he's probably in the bar tossing one back. When i was working in Manhattan, there was an Irish bar next door,at that time he every Friday night when i went in,sure enough there he was drunk as a skunk...guess i got off topic...ok back on
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that at least one of the two shows Alcatraz,or The River does well,i guess we will find out soon enough!

ReplyDeleteI really thought i would be seeing Homeland down on your scoreboard.surprise, surprise! :)

Swan Song is really, really good, but my all time favorite SPN episode ever is Mystery Spot. I don't know how many times I have watched it...never gets old.
ReplyDeleteI probably would go back and forth between Katey Sagal and Claire Danes for Best Actress... I just happened to have watched Sons of Anarchy more recently. XD
ReplyDeleteI initially had Damian Lewis' name down for Best Actor too, but last season of Breaking Bad was so OUTSTANDING I switched it. I had Giancarlo Esposito for Supporting Actor too, but Dinklage won me over on Game of Thrones in the end.
Likewise I had Homeland down for Best New Series, but in the end it came down to the scope of Game of Thrones for me. It was just so epic in scale and performances - not to mention just the undertaking of adapting the book to screen.
Ha! Too true....
ReplyDeleteLook at my list, I certainly did not vote for who I thought would win this time. Just who deserved it. XD
Why am I not surprised to see you having House of Lies as most anticipated?
ReplyDeleteI just wonder how you will react when you don't hear 'We Used to Be Friends' by the Dandy Warhols during the opening credits. XD
I probably should have put Person of Interest down for Best Cop Procedural!
ReplyDeleteI'm is basically a procedural series, but I guess I just forgot...
Charlie Hunnam really has been great this year!
ReplyDeleteI'll die a little on the inside.
ReplyDeleteOr I'll blast the song over the actual opening credits instead. :)
Wow! There's a lot of stuff on this list! Castle FTW though! :D
ReplyDeleteDare I say this is too difficult. There's so much to love! (And hate, of course.)

I was offline for one day and nearly missed this. Good that you reposted the link in your new STV Podcast article. :)
ReplyDeletebest episode was the toughest question.
ReplyDeletenow that I think, I think I should've nominated Sarah Rafferty instead of Naya Rivera... oh well... :/
ReplyDeleteBest episode: Breaking Bad - Face off (4x13) Unequivocally!
ReplyDeleteDo i HAVE TO put something in EVERY box? There are some I don't care about.

ReplyDeletean Alias fan, great! =)
ReplyDeleteI'm not happy that this poll required an answer in all categories. I don't watch Medical dramas, and I don't watch non-network programming. I had to make up answers for some of these questions in order for my answers to be recorded, which means my answers are only partially valid, which means the poll is skewed.

It's been days since I did this, so it's hard to remember how I voted. What I remember is:
ReplyDeleteBest actress: Julianna Margulies. No argument. The best.
Best supporting actress: Jessica Lange
Best episode: Halloween Pt. 1, American Horror Story
Best director: Michelle MacLaren, Pretty Much Dead Already, The Walking Dead
Best new show: Once Upon a Time
I chose Fringe, Novation, but I don't remember what category.
Miss Lost.
Looking forward to The River.
Overlooked actor vote was my bad because I don't think Robert Carlyle fits in this group. Coulda picked Josh Jackson or John Noble.
i voted!
ReplyDeleteGrey's Anatomy all day!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI voted Hello, Cruel World. It was one of the best SPN episodes in quite a while.
