    It must be a government conspiracy. Now that waterboarding is no longer tolerated, they had to find new ways to crack suspects... so the government apparently decided to work in tandem with the networks in order to develop such awful programming that will be used as torture to break even the toughest ninjas. And that's how "Whitney", "ROB" and "Work it" were created.
